Lady Sylvara, Guardian of Earth, Nature and Life
Sylvara is a kind and compassionate deity, she is revered by those that worship her as being warm and nurturing, much like a mother to all life.
She detests violence, especially when it results in the destruction of a life… but she does comprehend that sometimes there is no other alternative but to fight when something threatens the sanctity of life and nature… she regards this choice, this responsibility with a serious and solemn attitude.
Those that follow her are encouraged to understand that all life is sacred and that when taking a life becomes necessary, her followers must understand what taking that life means.
Those that would celebrate taking the life of another, instead of lamenting and mourning for the necessity of it, would find it difficult to find favor in the lady of the Earth.
Sylvara is a steadfast enemy of those that would callously tear apart nature for purely selfish intentions or taking far more than what they need to survive.
They say that quakes and tremors of the Earth are Sylvara’s moments of outrage over another forest somewhere being violated in an ecologically devastating way.
Druids are fiercely devoted to Sylvara and will take great offence to any that dare to slander the Lady of the Earth’s divine name. They wield the power they receive from the sacred Earth Mother with grateful reverence. They tend to frequent around the borders of the Earth temple, wish to be as near to the source of Lady Sylvara’s power as possible.
Clerics devoted to Sylvara are charged to teach about nature and the sanctity of all life, they must educate the world about the Earth and the ways that if they listen and pay attention, the Earth will take care of them in food, medicine and their everyday life.
Paladins of Lady Sylvara, known as the Verdant Order, are charged with protecting nature (forests and such) and all things living.
A few are charged with the task of remaining near the Earth temple, protecting the temple and the clerics within that are delivering sermons of Lady Sylvara upon the visiting worshippers.
The rest of Sylvara's paladins are to be out adventuring in the world, defending nature and life whenever possible.
When a paladin of Sylvara must take a life, they will out of sheer respect for the essence of life snuffed out by their own hand, give the body proper burial. It matters not if they 'deserved' the burial or otherwise, they still lived and were part of the world... and no one is born evil, evil is made.
Oakland Deeproot, the highest paladin in the Verdant Order, has been known to say, he mourns not the monster he is burying, but instead mourns the innocence that was the beginning of this individuals entry into life.
Cleric Symbol- Sylvara’s emblem, those who carry this are blessed and cherished in her eyes.
Paladin shield of the Verdant Order, the glowing emerald gemstone leaf adorning the shield is imbued with the Earth Guardian’s blessing to protect her champion. The jasmine flowers are indestructible and forever carry the gentle soothing fragrance of the guardian, which is her way of letting her champion know that she is always with them.
