Full Name: Duke Edwyn Raendale of Essex
Personal Situation: Having recently come into his inheritance, Edwyn is still fairly new to the games of the high lords. He is doing his best to keep things together in his duchy and keep up an apperance of power, yet his reign is anything but stable at the moment.
Motivations: Foremost Edwyn is motivated by the desire to live up to his father's expectations. A desire that surpassed even the death of his sire. Another motivating factor for Edwyn is his sense of personal pride, driving him to seek revenge even for the smallest (or even just perceived) slights to his honor.

BACKGROUND

Family: Both of Edwyn's parents are dead, as well as all three of his brothers, the only family left him is a sister, who is married to the French duke of Flanders.
Upbringing: Edwyn was the first born child of his father's as such he was heir to the duchy and accordingly educated but also accordingly pressured to be the best he could possibly be. He squired for a lesser noble until the age of 18, when he won his spurs in his first, and only battle.
Important Events: The battle of the three mills: An uprising of a lesser Lord within his father's domains ended in this bloody battle. Here Edwyn won his knighthood and the only one of his brothers who lived long enough to see his teenage years died.
His Father's death: Edwyn's father died very recently and quite suddenly, Edwyn feels not only unprepared to be duke of Essex, but also suspects foul play in his father's death causing some paranoia in the young duke.
