Within these halls, you shall find the profiles of various OCs I have made over the years, along with perhaps a few more familiar faces.

I'm on the west coast, and don't usually wander on here until early evening my time.
All of my character profiles are best viewed in DARK MODE, I make no apologies for any eye damage you self-inflict by viewing them in anything else.
None of the art I use as character reference is mine, mainly because a lot of my OCs are born of inspiration from that image or character, but also because I'm poor and can't art. Sorry about that.
If anyone wants to volunteer to be my personal artist or donate money toward art, that could change.

Background

Lyrica was already strange as a Daxamite, being one of a rare few young ones with white hair. Her deceptive appearance didn't help her reputation much either, since she looked female, but had the sexual parts of a male. Her parents were as supportive as they could be, but she eventually opted to continue her schooling from home, rather than continue to endure the nightmare of public education. Her peers were unbearable, especially when word got out that her powers didn't work quite right. She was still nothing to scoff at during the day, but she was far, far stronger at night, under the light of the moon. This pretty much singled her out entirely from her peers, and is what prompted her to initially consider home education.

Despite this obvious lack of social interaction, Lyrica is not a mousey, sit in the corner type individual, waiting for others to notice her. Once she received her completion certification, Lyrica dove straight into finding ways off-world, already knowing that normal Daxamites have to get inoculated against Lead before heading away from the homeworld. Before she could do that herself though, she had to make sure her uniqueness didn't alter that weakness to something else.

Fortunately for her, it did. A few hours after she went to a medical facility and asked for the requisite tests, she receives a data feed to her tablet, detailing the results. The news was...nothing short of astounding. Instead of being weak to Lead, Lyrica was weak to Gold, a slightly less prevalent element in the universe, but still a problem. The medical team was ready to immunize her whenever she had the time, but reminded her that this immunization only meant that she wouldn't get weak from being AROUND gold. She would still be vulnerable to direct applications of the element, but less so than she would normally be.

She barely gave it any thought. She marched back to the facility and saw the doctor that gave her the results, telling him she was ready for the immunization. The doctor merely nods and motions for her to sit in a nearby chair, then grabs a syringe with yellowish liquid inside, indicating that this was the drug in question. Lyrica stared at the syringe for a moment, not quite believing such a small thing could do so much for her. She nods and closes her eyes, waiting as the doctor bares her arm and performs the injection, the drug racing into her veins like liquid ice, making her shiver. After removing the needle, the doctor recommends Lyrica hang out for a little bit, just to make sure things go smoothly. She nods, feeling a bit drained as the drug shoots through her and saturates her blood, shielding her from the ill-effects of gold.

After returning home another hour later, Lyrica began packing the things she would need to leave her life behind. Her parents tried to get her to stay, of course, but she needed to get away. Away from the taunts and guarded looks, away from the furtive glances and hushed tones. They eventually agree, stating that perhaps this is what she needed to be happy and grow. After an extended farewell, she heads to the nearest spaceport and purchases a ticket for Earth, having always wanted to see the place where some of the greatest heroes of the universe had been born.

During the inter-stellar flight though, her ship was caught in a warp ripple, catapulting her and her fellow passengers through time, eventually crash landing outside of Metropolis. She was among one of the few survivors, mostly unharmed, aside from losing some of the things she brought along with her. She was just glad that her swords survived the crash, along with her tablet. How that fragile thing survived was beyond her, but it started right up when she tapped it, so she wasn't going to complain!

Soon after arriving in Metropolis, Lyrica immerses herself in earth culture and information, particularly of the occult variety. She finds this interest particularly easy to indulge, now that she has acquired work at a new age shop. She finds the odd, slightly eccentric folk that frequent it to be much better company than the 'peers' she left behind, utterly fascinated by the different interpretations of the same beliefs they each possess.

Power Limitations
Lyrica derives most of her powers from absorbing light particles, particularly that of moonlight. If she spends too much time in the dark, or is hit with something made of gold, she begins to lose much of her powers. She isn't helpless in this state, but it would be easier to subdue her, if one so chose.

When fully charged, Lyrica is able to produce some rather fantastic effects, among these being high-focus lasers, photon bombs, and even hard-light shields. Most often, though, she uses her stored power to form laser-swords and other such melee weapons. While she does absorb light particles from whatever source of light is around her, Lyrica most often chooses to bask in moonlight or, to a lesser degree, sunlight, as they seem to be most effective in recharging her.

Lyrica also possesses all the normal powers of Daxamites, with one exception. Heat-vision. Instead, hers is a type of Energy-vision, capable of nearly the same things as Heat-vision, but with little actual heat. This is no doubt because of her unique physiology, once more influencing her powers.

Frozen in Vengeance

From an early age, Agrias took interest in the arts of war and combat, starting out with Pankration when she was five, and then Norse spear training the following year. This training continued on well into her high school years, culminating in an exhibition with other students at the end of the year. This gave her the opportunity to showcase the other skills she had learned over the years, dedicating her mind and body to being better. Gymnastics and acrobatics, swordsmanship, blacksmithing…anything that helped her achieve her ideal of strength. She had to be strong enough to protect herself, and her family.
Her family had enemies, her mother had told her the night she turned 12 years old. Powerful, manipulative enemies. Ones that might try and harm her and the rest of the family, if they were ever found.
So Agrias trained. Even harder than she had before that night, the knowledge that someday she might have to use these skills to defend her family and loved ones driving her forward. Pushing her to always excel, to push just that little bit more. To be better.
Maybe that was why the fallen Valkyrie chose that day to bless her with power? If they had not, would she be alive today? Or would the men that had been sent to abduct her have succeeded? These questions always plague young Agrias' mind, ever since that fateful day...

She had been nearing the end of her five minutes on the stage when it happened. A large explosion outside the auditorium shakes the walls and ceiling, until another explosion blows a large hole in one of the walls, sending people further into a panic as they all rushed en masse for the nearest doors. Through the smoke and debris filled hole in the wall, stepped four men dressed in tight fitting black suits, with death's head masks over their heads, all carrying some manner of advanced firearm she'd never seen before.

There was no question of what she should do. There was no hesitation for her. She simply acts, driven on by her desire to protect those she felt kinship with, brazenly charging to the edge of the raised stage and leaping into the air toward the armed men, her limbs pulled close to present as small a target as possible as she sailed through the air.
It wasn't enough. She knew that, even before one of the men saw her coming and fired his weapon, hitting her with some sort of sonic blast, stopping her cold and laying her out in a daze. But what else could she have done? She couldn't just let these...barbarians...hurt and kill those she loved. But her body wouldn't obey her now. The men took their time in ensuring they gathered her up and made a clean escape, with her limp body over one shoulder of the biggest one.

She screamed inside her mind, calling out to her ancestors, her forefathers, until she was left with no other option than to seek help from any being who could hear her mind and soul cry out for help. She remembers hearing the flap of great feathered wings, and feeling a hand on her forehead. She doesn't remember the conversation that led to what happened, but she remembers the result quite clearly. Her body, possessed by some higher power, breaks the neck of the goon carrying her, then proceeds to calmly execute each of the three others by freezing their blood in their veins, before opening up a shadowy portal and watching the bodies be dragged inside, never to be seen again.

The next thing she knew, she was waking up outside her front door, about to open it herself when it opened and her mother pulled her inside. Where her mother explained to her what was going on. About how the day they had all feared had come, and Hel had found them. When her mother tried to explain what Agrias' role in events was now going to be, Agrias interrupted, still not entirely clear on why Hel hated their family in particular so much, or why Agrias was expected to fight alone. Her mother was tight lipped, not wanting to burden someone so young with the knowledge of why…until Agrias told her mother about the being that helped her escape. Agrias told her mother about the being that helped her, that answered her call and bestowed its blessing on her. Her mother was surprisingly calm about it, even smiled a little when Agrias mentioned how good it felt to be so powerful, so strong. Her mother merely nodded and said to her, "then, it truly is time. Time for you to be made fully aware of the secret war our family has waged for hundreds of years. A war on evil." When her mother motioned for Agrias to follow, she did. Into the depths of their home, and into a new life as...Darkfrost.



An Age Old Agreement

Unbeknownst to the young Agrias, her family line is one tied closely with that of the Norse gods. For the last 500 years, nearly every female child born within their family has exhibited similar powers to her own. This is entirely because their family, long ago, made a pact with Odin and the Valkyrie, whose numbers were in dire need of strengthening. This pact endowed the women in their family with unique powers, ones that would prove instrumental in ensuring their family survived into modern times.

However as payment for this power and influence, every fifth girl within their family would be taken and trained as a Valkyrie, then serve 100 years within their ranks. Little did Agrias know that the day of the attack, was to be the very same day a Valkyrie was to come and claim her for Odin. Nor did she ever expect an exiled Valkyrie to answer her plead for life, and choose to share its power with her.

This Valkyrie, she later came to know, is named Hrist. Long thought dead and gone from the memories of all but Odin and the eldest Valkyrie, Hrist is a being born of cold anger and dark rage, during a time in Odin's reign when he felt humanity was in need of punishment, and thought to exact this punishment through destruction and carnage. However, Hrist proved to be too harsh, her vengeance too great for the All-Father to condone.

And so it was, that on the very earth Odin sent her to punish, to exact blood-price for disobeying the gods, Hrist's own sisters the Valkyrie, were called upon to exact punishment upon her. Instead of death, Odin forbade her from ever again taking a corporal form, instead relegating her solely to the realm of spirits and ghosts. He also gave her the means for her own redemption, via the Oath of the Soul-bond.

If, by some miracle, Hrist ever hears a call for aid by a mortal of Agrias' family line, she would be given the chance to answer, and bestow upon that mortal Hrists' own power.
She would then be allowed, temporarily, to switch physical places with that mortal, if the mortal so wished, or was in life-threatening danger. Hrist would then have a short time to either end the life-threatening danger, or escape.

Hrist agreed to these terms, perhaps more quickly than the All-Father thought she might, though he paid it no mind at that time. However, Hrist vowed that day that she would bide her time, and wait for a mortal worthy of her power, one that could aid her in exacting her own holy vengeance upon Odin and her former sisters, the Valkyrie.

So she accepted her fate, and roamed Midgard for centuries, before hearing the young Agrias call to her, the young woman's voice tugging her onward until she found the injured Agrias, and made her offer. She would give Agrias power, but in exchange, Agrias would aid Hrist in hunting down and destroying the Valkyrie, and then Odin himself. Desperate and confused, Agrias thought little of her choice, and so agreed with the Dark Valkyrie's terms.
Allowing Hrist, the Valkyrie of Betrayal, to once more walk the mortal realms, seeking to exact her justice upon those who wronged her.


Agrias' Abilities

Cryokinesis: Allows for the generation and manipulation of frost, ice, and snow. She can do this with just about any liquid, solid or gas, if given enough time, or put under extreme duress. Limits based on humidity/presence of water.
Shadowmancy: Allows for the generation and manipulation of shadows and darkness. This ability is easier to use, of course, when there is little to no light. She can make the shadows she controls assume any shape or form her imagination requires, whether it be furniture, clothing, or weapons. Limit based on the amount of shadows present.
Superhuman Physical Abilities: Strength, Speed, Agility, Endurance are all superhuman ie in the several ton range. Unknown if this is tied to Hrist's presence or not, but she can keep up with Asgardians like Thor and Sif.
Soul-Bound to Hrist: Because of the pact between them, Agrias can allow Hrist to once more physically manifest on the mortal plane by speaking the phrase, "I AM BETRAYED", allowing Hrist to mystically swap places with Agrias and fight in her stead. Hrist then has around twenty minutes to either end the threat to Agrias, or make her escape.
Though Hrist has made it clear to Agrias she does not run.



Hrist's Abilities

Asgardian Physiology: Hrist possesses all of the various superhuman attributes common among the Asgardians.
Superhuman Strength: Hrist, like all Asgardians, possesses superhuman strength. She is significantly stronger than any other Valkyrie, and most other Asgardian men and women for that matter. She can lift up to 45 tons, whereas the average Asgardian male and female can lift 30 and 25 tons respectively.
Superhuman Speed: Hrist can run and move at speeds that are beyond the natural physical limits of mortals.
Superhuman Stamina: Hrist's advanced musculature produces considerably less fatigue toxins during physical activity than the musculature of a human being. At her peak, she can exert herself physically at peak capacity for about 3 days before the build up of fatigue toxins in her blood begins to impair her.
Superhumanly Dense Tissue: Hrist's bodily tissue, like that of all Asgardians, possesses about 3 times the density of the bodily tissue of a human. As a result, she is much heavier than she appears and her denser tissue contributes somewhat to her physical strength.

Superhuman Durability: Hrist's body is much harder and more resistant to conventional forms of physical injury than the body of a human. She can withstand falls from great heights, exposure to extremes in both temperature and pressure, high caliber bullets, and tremendous impact forces without sustaining injury.
Superhuman Agility: Hrist's agility, balance, and bodily coordination are all enhanced to levels that are beyond the physical limits of mortals.
Superhuman Reflexes: Hrist's reflexes are similarly enhanced and are superior to those of mortals.
Superhuman Longevity: Like all Asgardians, Hrist is extremely long lived and ages at a pace much slower than that of a human being. However, unlike some other god pantheons like the Olympians, Asgardians do continue to age.

Regenerative Healing Factor: Despite her body's great resistance, Hrist can sustain physical injury just like any other Asgardian. If injured, her metabolism enables her to rapidly regenerate damaged bodily tissue faster and more extensive than a human being is capable of. Injuries such as slashes and puncture wounds can heal completely within a matter of hours and broken bones within a matter of days. However, she isn't able to regenerate a severed limb or missing organ.
Death Perception: Like all Valkyries, Hrist can perceive and sense the coming of Death. She can see a "death-glow" surrounding a person who is in serious danger of dying, although most Asgardians and human beings cannot see the glow. A person surrounded by the death-glow might still be saved from dying until he or she meets his or her inevitable end at some later time under different circumstances.

Mystical Teleportation: Hrist can transport herself and a dying or dead person from the Earth dimension to an other-dimensional realm of the dead, just by willing herself to do so. She can also return through an act of will.
Allspeak: Thanks to the Allspeak, Asgardians can communicate in all of the languages of the Nine Realms, Earth's dialects, and various alien languages.
Soul-Bound to Agrias: Due to the pact she made with Agrias, Hrist must come to her aid when summoned, allowing Hrist to take physical form and fight whatever threat endangers Agrias.

A Cᴏʟᴅ Dᴀʏ ɪɴ ᴛʜᴇ Oᴜᴛᴇʀ Rɪᴍ

The Force often has other plans for those who think themselves masters of their own fate, and Veresa would come to learn that she was no different from those who came before. While journeying between planets via her own ship, The Sonata, she felt something pull her in the direction of what her maps told her was empty space, and decided to change course to head toward the mysterious pull she felt. It almost felt...familiar...to her. As if the one she sought had once touched the place, and left his own mark upon it before once more vanishing into the void. So she headed toward it, the ship's scanners telling her that there was in fact a large planet out there, well before her own special form of sight allowed her to 'see' it. It absolutely glowed to her, with the kind of power she had no doubt Revan would have sought in his quest to end the Jedi and the Republic. "Beautiful," she softly murmurs, gazing upon the life-force of the planet before her, despite the ship's scanners telling her it was a frozen world. She didn't care. She knew he had been here, she could feel the touch of his power lingering on the planet's own despite how faint it was.

As the Sonata approached, the planet finally appeared in full view for her only crew, her own personal assassination droid that she found and had rebuilt some time ago, to act as pilot and sparring partner. "Querying Statement: A frozen, dead world. Mistress, are you certain you will go down? Perhaps it would be best if I went to investigate instead," came the voice of HK-24, the droid's programmed loyalty making her smile briefly. "No, HK, you stay here with the ship. If I don't come back in a few days, assume the worst and get yourself and the ship out of here," she replies, donning her thicker robes and readying herself for the environment planetside. She once more turns to 'look' at the planet, saying "he was here, HK. I can feel it. I have to know why. There's a facility near the equator, for who knows what. That's where I'll start looking." "Resigned Answer: Very well, Mistress. I will wait here until the stated period has expired. Good Hunting."

Once the Sonata lands on the facility landing pad and drops her off, she quickly makes her way inside, the force guiding her as she enters the outwardly abandoned place and searches for any sign of who she sought. As she explores, she comes to realize that the facility is still very much active inside, though she has yet to sense any living beings wandering the surprisingly climate controlled halls and corridors. That soon changes however, as she came to a rather large metal door that appeared to be the way into the deeper parts of the complex, and a rather rude door-bot snaked out from the wall next to it, demanding she identify herself or be subject to vaporization. Sighing, she flicks her arm out and grabs the door-bot by its long-ass neck, then brings it close to her eyeless-face as she pulls her hood back, saying simply "I AM SITH," before releasing her grip on the bot.

The door promptly opens, the bot meekly apologizing and retreating back into its storage hole as she gives a mild huff, then wanders through the door into the facility proper. As she entered, several different individuals suddenly approached her, all of whom she sensed to be in various levels of distress. She couldn't see their physical forms, but she could read the way the force moved through them, and focused in varying strengths within them. The most vibrant of them spoke first, asking what they did to receive the honor of a personal appearance from a Sith, and if there was anything they could do to help her find what she sought here. Nodding, she replies, "I'm looking for someone. A powerful Sith, who came to this place some time in the past. Do you know of the one I speak?" They all looked to each-other as if considering their answer, then another of them answered, "do you mean Lord Revan? He was the one who ordered this place to be built here. Gave us the resources and the means to conduct our research into better cryogenics."

"Show me," she orders, her eagerness quite obvious in her tone of voice. She knew it. He had been here. Revan had ordered this place to be constructed, but for what purpose beyond what he told these researchers? There had to be something else here, she mused to herself as she was given a tour. Something powerful. She could almost feel something...dark, sleeping beneath the thick ice of the planet's surface. But it was being concealed or interfered with. Like something in the force was obscuring her senses just enough to hide whatever it was lurking below.

She was so distracted by what she couldn't sense, that she didn't notice until it was nearly too late that she had been led into a rather hastily prepared trap, the researchers who had been with her were nowhere to be found, and there appeared to be some kind of...hollow tube...in the middle of the room. Cursing under her breath, she chides herself for being so distracted by her perceptions again. "I hope you can forgive us for our bit of deception, Dirge," come the voice of the one who originally spoke to her, over a speaker somewhere in the room with her, making it clear they knew who she was, "but our orders from Lord Revan were very clear. Anyone who comes across this facility, Sith or not, must not leave it. So, we give you a choice. You can die from exposure as we shut off the environmental control to that room and it drops below freezing within minutes, or...you can enter the new prototype cryostasis pod in that room with you, and aid in our continued research into prolonged cryogenic stasis. You have one minute to decide."

She ponders her options very briefly, her senses doing little to help her find any other means of escape at this moment, and her training means little against the thick blast doors she could sense sealing her in. Sighing in resignation, she turns her head toward the cryo-pod, replying "very well. If Revan himself gave the order, I cannot go against it. But know this: if I ever regain consciousness while you all live, there will be no place in the universe safe from me and my wrath." With one last check of her robes and equipment, including her lightsabers, she walks to the cryo-pod and calmly steps inside, the door soon closing and sealing her within it. "We'll keep that in mind," was the last thing she remembers hearing, before the cold and dark took her.

And there she would remain, through the fall of the Old Republic and the rise/fall of the Empire. A frozen relic of a by-gone age. Waiting to return.

When you're a clone of someone else, it can be hard to figure out who you really are beyond the person you came from. How to see yourself for you, and not just the face of someone else. Someone who meant more, who IS more, to so many people familiar with that face you were stuck with. You never asked to be a copy of them, you were made to be like that. To be the new version of that person, the person who meant so very much to so many people, that they couldn't think of a world without that person in it.

Expectations get set high, higher than you can even fly, and suddenly you're expected to be able to shoulder that burden, with no experience beyond what you were grown with. How could anyone not falter under that weight? How could anyone bear it without breaking? It's nearly impossible, even when you're a clone of the greatest hero that Earth has ever known. You can't help but stumble, to falter...to fall. Again. And again. And again. You do the best that you can, but you just can't ever seem to step out of the long, wide shadow of the person you came from. To find out for yourself who you are, to be able to grow beyond what others expect you to be, something has to change. You have to be allowed to ask the questions, "who am I and who do I want to be?" and find out what the answers are, and what they mean to you as an individual person.

You have to be able to find your own wings, and use them to find your own horizon. Even if you're not sure how far you have to fly.

So I flew. Up, up, and away, like my "father" used to say. Beyond Earth, the galaxy...even time. I fought a lot along the way, made new friends, learned a lot about myself. Found out what it really means to be my own person, my own heroine, not just existing in someone else's shadow, but shining for everyone to finally see. To make my own path, and Skyrocket after it.

☆ ᘡ| An Interesting Development |ᘞ ☆

While out on a routine patrol one afternoon, Connie spots a glowing shimmering portal about the size of her head opening above a local park, and watches in surprise as a small cylindrical container shoots through like a bullet and buries itself in the ground ten feet from the portal, leaving a smoking crater in the manicured grass and dirt. After the small package passed through the portal snaps closed, leaving behind no trace of it in the slightly cloudy blue sky. 'Well. That's...different,' she thinks to herself as she flies over to the small crater in the ground where the object impacted, wanting to inspect it before any curious citizens get bold and hurt themselves.

After landing beside the hole, she looks down and sees a shiny metal cylinder sticking out of the dirt, with some weird insignia she's never seen before. 'Huh. Well, it's probably not a bomb, anyway,' she thinks to herself, before using her x-ray vision to inspect the contents, just to be sure. Inside, she sees what appear to be containers full of some sort of strange pills, but no sign of any sort of explosive or other trap.


After determining the cylinder was safe to pick up, Kon reaches down and grabs the surprisingly heavy foot long metal container, before placing it safely under one arm and lifting off into the sky once more. She had to get these to Cyborg. She'll be able to figure out what exactly these pills are. Maybe even where they came from or how they ended up here. 'I just hope this doesn't turn out to be something that bites me in the ass,' she thinks to herself, before taking off at full speed for the Tower.

Science is never really concerned with "should we do this thing", only with "can we do this thing". That was never made more clear, than when Fenris first awoke within the experimental growth capsule that birthed him, his eyes opening slowly to look out at the gathered researchers and scientists observing him, not understanding what he is seeing in that moment. The people gathered around his capsule were all looking very closely, taking notes or giving opinions that he couldn't hear through the glass and fluid. But he could see their faces, the lips of some moving soundlessly, while others listened and nodded. He didn't know why then, but he attemped to lash out with a fist, the impact shaking his capsule but not breaking the glass. This made all of the people gathered around shrink back in fear for the briefest moment, until scientific curiosity again overcame apprehension and they became even more animated outside. He grew tired soon after, and slipped back into a deep sleep.

When next he awoke, he found himself laying upon the cold, bare concrete floor of an observation room of some kind. It is a room he will soon become intimately familiar with, as he spends the next several weeks being ordered to use abilities he somehow knew he had, though he didn't know how he knew or how he got them. A few times, he overheard some of the scientists refer to him as "Experiment Absolute Zero", but he wouldn't know why, until the day She came. She wasn't a scientist, or at least she didn't look like any of the others in the facility. He caught sight of her only a few times. He didn't know why, but the red haired woman seemed...important. When she left, the scientists seemed to breathe a sigh of relief, like they had somehow avoided a terrible fate of some kind.

The next time he awoke, it was to the voice of that same red-haired woman, screaming at him, "WAKE UP! The facility is on fire, we have to get out of here!" right in front of his face, startling him awake and making him jump to his feet, frost forming at his fingertips as he stared at her. "Good, you're awake. Now come on!" she says, uncaring of the cold as she grabs for one of his hands and drags him along behind her, his feet momentarily stumbling to catch up to her breakneck run. Every time they passed a hallway or an open room, all he could see was flames and smoke, making it seem like they wouldn't ever escape after all. When they finally did reach what seemed like the entrance way to the facility, walls and beams had come down during the blaze that blocked the doors leading out.

When the woman saw what lay ahead, she stopped just before the end of the hall, making him nearly run into her when she turned around to look at him. Her steel blue eyes bored into his 'masked' face, meeting his deep blues within black voids, and resignedly says, "guess I'm going to have to ask you a favor, Absolute Zero. Just this one time, I need you to do the thing you were made for, okay? I need you to freeze...well, everything in that room. Make it stop burning."

Giving a small nod, he steps around her and enters the burning entrance way, his feet lifting off the ground a few inches as his hands begin to glow with blue light, frost and swirling snow beginning to form around him as he lowers the ambient temperature rapidly in an ever expanding radius around him. But this wasn't merely a loss of heat. No, the scientists who made him wanted more than just cold. They wanted the total cessation of movement, the critical point of particle physics...Molecule death. Absolute Zero.

When he unleashed his power, everything in the room froze. Flames became crystallized sculptures. Smoke become falling snow. Concrete, drywall and steel all froze down to the atomic level. All became stillness and frost.

Except for the hallway behind him, where the woman and her Cinderace hid behind a hastily summoned Flame Wheel, shielding them from the brunt of his power. Calling her partner back to their ball, she steps into the room next to him and looks around in awe. "My goodness, they surely gave you a terrifying power," she breathlessly states, her breath frosting in the now frigid air. "Y-Yes," he manages to utter, the word strange in his mouth and mind, but present nonetheless. Raising an eyebrow slightly, the woman tilts her head to one side and says, "so they gave you the ability to speak too? We'll have to work on that, Abso..no. That's not your name. That's...your power."

Grabbing one of his hands again in one of her significantly warmer ones, she smiles and pulls him along gently as she turns toward the now safe exit, saying warmly, "Come on, Fenris. It's time for you to meet the world."

ʜɪsᴛᴏʀʏ

Born Altair Arthur Crestlyre, the young man who would eventually become known as Forethought had a relatively easy life growing up, being born into a family that was subtly rich and having parents that were fairly normal. His early years were unremarkable, aside from performing as well as his parents expected of him in school and extracurricular activities, regardless of the task before him. All of this changed, however, when he reached jr high school, and his powers suddenly flared into life, expanding his mind and bombarding him with wave upon wave of people's thoughts, desires, and unspoken words. He tried to tell his parents about it once, but they just told him that he was overexerting himself, and that he just needed to take some time off. He never again went to his parents seeking help with his newfound powers, instead looking to the only place he felt would have the answers...the internet. He searched through every forum, chat room, and blog on mind abilities, hoping that he would find someone or something that could help him figure out what was happening and how to handle it.

Imagine his surprise, when one day, after several months of fruitless searching, he receives an email from someone with the initials JG, that contained something he never thought he would ever find. Acceptance. Understanding. Empathy. And a solution. An opportunity really, for him and his parents to receive the support needed during this trying time. What else could he do, but jump at the chance? He had to know more, had to find out how to control these powers he had been given.

So it was that, instead of going into regular high school after leaving jr high, Altair instead was picked up and taken to Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, where he promptly threw himself at every thing he could on Telepathy and Telekinesis, having discovered through probing by Xavier himself that Altair possessed both talents. He also made sure to focus on things he already had a fair bit of skill with, not wanting his skills with Archery or Kendo to become useless from disuse or lack of practice.

Altair is currently attending his senior year at Xavier's, and is itching to go out into the world with the knowledge he has gained from the prestigious institute, wanting to help the cause of mutant and human co-existence in any way he can.
