looking around confused at all the people in this strange place, I scratch my head.

"Wait what are we doing? "

looking through the clues and past actions to get up to speed

Seasaw wanders around, feverish and tired (perhaps from being out of water for so long), and attempts to find anything in the open the key might fit into, but there doesn't seem to be any use for it in sight.

She steps over that same creaky floorboard that several people have definitely noticed though, which is totally helpful in its own right!

Everyone watches as you trace your hand over the floorboards, locating one that doesn't seem to sit quite right. The spacing it far too narrow for just your fingers, but thankfully you had the screwdriver with you to lift it up and out of the way.

From what you can see, there is a metal box sitting inside. You lift it out and discover it has a padlock over the latch, preventing you from opening it.

Trask is so aggressive with the key (he's probably just really frightened, guys!), trying to jam it hard into the lock, but he misses the hole and scratches the outside of the box instead.

Be careful! 😱

"oh no quick, hand me a drink"

I say as I step back and let less clumsy people take over

An electrical buzzing is heard over head, and a ghostly, moaning wail moves through the closet. The umbrella falls over and shoes are tossed out into the room.

The light bulb overhead breaks and the group must now fumble in near darkness with the lock and key!

Tor attempts to fumble around in the dark closet. His hands brush over coats, and hangers, his feet trample over the sad umbrella and crunches over the thin shards of glass that fell from the bulb. He can't seem to find any flashlight in the space.

You move safely out of the way of your friends, more or less. The umbrella takes a bit of pressure to open, but eventually clicks into place. The ghostly wailing zips through the room again and the umbrella is ripped from your hands, as a strong draft of wind blows up from your feet. The open umbrella floats in the air its surface is cast in a sickly green.

The room is suddenly colder.

While it's not a true light source so much as a glow, you're now able to see a little better as it levitates and spins with a looming reminder of how it's typically bad luck to open an umbrella indoors.

... But perhaps this time it was lucky.
