five pictures in the first room and now five volumes on the shelf ? Maybe a coincidence

Alex joins Baff, noticing that same hidden object on the floor, and slowly moves the books to the side.

As he clears the way, it becomes more obvious that a safe file box is on the ground. Instead of a standard keyhole, there is a spinning dial in its place displaying:
A-A-A-A-A

It's a five letter clue. Maybe it's "HENRY" ?

You step through the gaps on the ground the best you can, trying not to damage the fallen books anymore than they might be from whatever happened to them.

Now that you're close enough to reach the remaining books, you pick them up and place them up right to check their spines.

You find volumes:

A, D, E, H, & S

Presumably the code is not ADEHS but it's some sort of word. The words I could come up with are -
SHADE
HADES
HEADS

As you lift the box and set it on your lap, you notice that the bottom of it has a slight lip instead of being flush.

It's simple enough to remove the clasp and open the lid. You and anyone near you are able to see what you find.

The inside is filled with soft, red velvet.

There are multiple slots for rings to be placed, and a shallow, rectangular compartment for jewelry beside that.

There is one earring: a dangling, pear-cut ruby. The red stone is as lovely as the velvet where it sits.

The inside of the lid has a mirror on it.

Alternatively, letters might be initials for people in the family (Henry = H), but that's a bit of a stretch, as the only other character we know about so far is L
We're definitely missing pieces. Tentative to do:

• Flip through the five books to see if there are loose notes
• Run the UV light over the books
• Investigate desk and chair
