Henry's frame is heavy and massive. It's awkward to pick it up off of the wall while standing so close to a gap in the stairs where the planks hover over your head and a hole waits to swallow you whole.

Teetering with the frame, you grab it and set it down, finding nothing of note on the wall behind it. The ghost doesn't seem overly active as you mess with her decor. You wonder if Loretta is more concerned with keeping you away from the other areas of the house than anything else.

The gargoyle stirs. "What on earth are you doing playing with portraits? Shouldn't you be finding Loretta's treasured items to destroy? If you bring something to me, I'll look at it and tell you if I see a soul fragment within the item."

 






The gargoyle squints his wooden eyes and leans forward to sniff the music box, then snorts and shakes his head, sitting back once more.

"Yes, that most certainly is one of her items. Did her ghost react in any particular way when you played the music? You did piece the box back together, right? It seems like a completed soul shard."

"I imagine you'll need to destroy the box with some sort of jabby type of item. But I'm not sure what's left in this sitting room, I've been inactive for some time now. So you may need to get creative unless you already have something you can use."

 
Yeah, I was thinking the screwdriver too. It's the only sharp-ish object I remember of.

[[ @Jumbled Action: A jabby type of item... I suddenly remembered about the screwdriver we used to pry up floor boards in the past, and retrieved it. Mentally preparing myself for the needed property damage, I decided to try stabbing the screwdriver at the music box.]]
 






Sonder grabs that screwdriver and drives it right into the center of the music box. The wood is... a little sturdier than everyone expected, but opening the box and stabbing it from the inside does the trick.

The ghost screams somewhere in the distance and a gust of wind blasts through the room.

Sonder is pulled to the side, past the gargoyle and the stairway, and toward the force field that was blocking off a hall. It's hard to say what has a hold of Sonder, but at this point, she's definitely expecting to be tormented by the ghost. She throws the impaled music box onto the ground and it breaks apart more, and the first barrier flickers and fades away, allowing access to the down stairs right side.


CONGRATULATIONS EVERYONE.

It took a lot longer, battling sicknesses and busy October activities! But you've made it through to the next room.

I... do not have it prepared at the moment, but I can tell you it is a kitchen! I'm not sure if we should keep going or if I should let you all escape. Haha

I might advertise that we're going into a new room on my wall and see it I can entice people in with a new room, though.
