Niyla stumbled in the middle of the forest, tripping over some branches. She needed to get out of here fast. Like now. She got her balance quickly and kept running.

"Where is the girl?" "Go find her!" "Hurry find the witch!" All of the villagers screamed and she turned her head to see the bright light of fire and the shadows of the figures against the trees.

Shit. Shit. Shit.

Niyla turned back around and continued to run, and run, and run. She didnt know where she was going, but she knew she needed to find a place to hide for the night. If it got any darker the wolves would be out and the villagers would leave her be. For the night at least.

She ran and jumped over the bushes and slipped deeper and deeper into the forest. She eventually started to become out of breath, her adrenaline running low.

Shit. Shit. Shit.

She found a cliff, maybe 10 feet off of the ground, to hide behind. Not for long at least, she just needed to catch her breath. She stopped running for a second before running off, at full speed, and jumped down the cliff and landed on the ground, with a loud yelp.

She quickly stood up and went to the side of the cliff and hid in a little hole, just big enough they wouldn't see her if they looked down it. She heard her heart beat in her ears, sounding like it was about to explode.

"She went that way!" "No that way!" "No not even a witch would jump off a cliff! We would have heard her hit the ground!"

She heard them grumble and argue for a minute before the split up into 2 groups, neither which going towards the cliff. She let out a huge sigh of relief. That would be the last time she'd ever help a small child again.

Niyla cradled the four-year-old girl in her arms as she gasped for air. They had found her at the edge of the woods, bloodied and beaten. They thought a wolf had gotten to her. The poor thing.

Blood. It was everywhere.

She sat there for a moment to catch her breath. 'One... Two..... Three..... Four....." she counted her breathes, which helped her control her heart beat. When ever she lived at the orphanage, it's what she would do to help her keep calm when the mistress would come in to beat them for misbehaving.

"I dont know what you're talking about! It's a miracle! nothing more! I didn't do anything I swear!" She screamed at the man who accused her.

Shit. Shit. Shit.

She slipped out of the hole. She needed someone else to go, where they wouldn't find her. She began to walk straight ahead, not knowing where she'd go. She needed someplace safe. Secure. It was dark now, she didn't have any light to lead her besides the pale moonlight.

"Witch!" He screamed at her and more people joined around in the circle "you put your hexes on the poor girl and now we will have to kill her to!"

She reached a large clearing, the white moonlight shined brighter here weirdly enough. She felt the wet grass in between her toes, but it hadn't rain? She looked down.

Blood. It was everywhere.

"No! Stop! She's just a child!" She screeched as they finished slitting the child's throat. Monsters. These people were horrible monsters.

Blood. It was everywhere.

The grass was covered in it. She looked around, trying to find the source of it. She turned around and walked backwards, trying to see if there was a deer or a rabbit or something to have caused all of this.

"Get the girl!" The man screamed but Niyla ran. She ran as fast as she could. She didnt want to die today. She couldnt die because she helped that child. But now she was dead because of her.

She tripped over a rock, she fell over and heard a very loud screech. She sat up and noticed it wasn't a rock she tripped over. It was a horse. The source of the blood, which Niyla was covered in at this point.

She immediately slid back a few feet, trying to see what exactly was in front of her. A very large horse, with beautiful white fur that was stained in blood from the large slash wounds on his side. It looked like a wolf had gotten ahold of it.

She took a second, and then crawled towards the horse. She put a hand on his side, and he threw his head up in the air and that's when she noticed his horn. A unicorn. Impossible. They were extinct hundreds of years ago.

She couldnt believe it. She had to save him. She had to save this sweet creature so he could possibly bring back their entire race. She had to do it

"Shhh boy, I have you." She whispered as she put her hand on his side and used the last little bit of her energy to close his wounds. "That's a good boy." She muttered, she didnt want to scare him much more than he had already been.

She watched his skin come back together, the blood still everywhere but now the Unicorn wasn't bleeding. She continued to run her hands through his fur, trying to calm him down as much as possible. He needed to get his energy before trying to get up, but she understood he was scared. They were both being hunted by monsters.

Maybe they could help each other. Save each other. From what she had heard, unicorns weren't exactly the most friendly creatures but this one was all alone. It needed someone.

She needed a plan and needed it very quickly or else they were going to get them both. She couldnt run anymore, she used what last little but of energy she had to save the unicorn.

Shit. Shit. Shit.

She tried to push him up, which he was extremely snippy at her, trying to head butt her and push her away, clearly not interested in her help. "Come on boy, we have to get up and we have to go. You're healed now."

The unicorn slowly began to stand up, and she could hear the pounding of feet. They were coming. And they were coming fast.

Shit. Shit. Shit.

She looked around, trying to find a path to go with the unicorn, somewhere to get them out of the middle of the clearing. The unicorn was finally up and ready to go, even took a couple of steps by his self "Thats good, come on boy let's go" she said and tried get on him.

He wasn't having it at all. He stood up on his hind legs and let out a loud screech before running off, leaving her in the middle.

She looked around

Blood. It was everywhere.

The sounds of men screaming where to go were getting louder.

Shit

She needed to leave, she needed to run

Shit

She took off running, not moving very fast. The men popped out of the woods then moment she entered through the other side. She was so close.

Shit

She heard a loud bang, and as she went to turn around, she felt an extreme amount of pain shot through her kneecap and she dropped to the ground. So close.

"I got the witch!" Someone yelled

She tried to get up, she needed to run. She couldnt die, not like this. Not because she saved a little girls life.

Bang

Her stomach explode with pain

Blood. It was everywhere.

She tried one last time to get up, to run but then all she heard was one last

Bang.
