The Vaethyr:
The Vaethyr are one of the oldest human kingdoms in the known world despite their history being filled with hardship and turmoil. They are a well learned and enlightened people who at one point possessed a kingdom on the continent of Anitkia before they were pushed from their home and had to found a new kingdom across a terrible ocean on the dessert and jungle continent of Jezzvor. Jezzvor was a name given to the lands by the natives, Asia was apparently the name of the djin who raised their lands from the ocean many lifetimes ago. Before they were pushed from their forest kingdom by a strange and hostile nation who called themselves the Everlasting Flame, the Vaethyr were a wealthy and successful people who's primary export were the goods they farmed and the wisemen their higher education standards produced.
The journey across the ocean to their new home was treacherous and many of the ships that departed found themselves the victims of sea beast and famine. Prince Demios was placed in power as the Vaethyr king after his father, the previous king, stayed behind with his personal infantry division to fight the Everlasting Flame back and away from their evacuating galleons. Determined to ensure his father didn't give his life in vain he swore he'd resettle the people he sacrificed himself to protect and rebuild the empire his bloodline had forged.
At first the Vaethyr made landing in the dark jungles of Jezzvor on the southern side of the continent, but the reprieve was short lived. There were monsters and fae who called that jungle home, and the Vaethyr were driven from the place losing more of their own as they were forced out into the deserts on the northern half of the continent. The sun was merciless and so were the thieves and murderers who called the dunes home. After repelling attacks for many nights, Demios managed to take a prisoner and from him the Vaethyr learned that there was a place called the Oasis which had enough water and food on its lands for the dwindling lost kingdom. Demios was told its a land hoarded by a savage nation of warriors in the thousands who hunt the other tribes of the dessert for sport and use the Oasis like bait. Demios undetered marched his kingdom onwards, and in a fierce and bloody war that lasted nearly three years the Vaethyr would defeat the Ola'Moon and develop the Oasis into a sprawling and wealthy kingdom. Within those lands they found rubies and gold and soon had re-established themselves as a prosperous nation.
