I'm a little new here so in part this is just to get started.
First off I'm open to anyone - to me gender is about as relevant as hair colour when choosing a partner, sure they might pull off being them really well but just as I might look at one red head and think how their hair really pulls off their look I also don't label myself a red-head lover. Probably didn't need to labour that point quite so much...
(Consider the rambling first paragraph a warning. You, dear reader, are in for a long ride)
I enjoy getting to know a person. When writing solo you write for a general audience or perhaps just for yourself...but in an RP the audience is clear, it is your partner(s) - I love to hear reactions. What works or doesn't is vital information to share but getting to know your companion lets you tailor posts to their needs. A self-centred writer has an audience of one.
What really get me into writing is creativity - having a world different to our own, magic, dragons, far off lands and great adventures. A lot of the stories here seem heavily smut centred and I sure, I get it, but that can't be everything for me. A world can be unusual in a lot of ways though - setting gives you a lot of breadth, races and species gives you a lot of freedom too.
(Intrepid reader, you'll be glad to know the above paragraph is highly redacted to protect your precious time)
The below is hardly an exhaustive list but a few settings and ideas to get those creative juices flowing. They're all ideas I've got more information on but don't want to give away.
Fantasy
Oh, also, if you made it to the end: Congratulations dear reader - consider this a mark of extreme perseverance, your tolerance for rambling rates amongst the best in the world.

Fantasy
I'm thinking standard sword and sorcery type settings here, castles and kings, adventurers with great quests.
Victorian- Castle intrigue - I'm thinking cloak and dagger, whispers in empty corridors. There are spies in our midst - perhaps it is us - there is mystery here too.
- A band of fighters - these could be mercenaries, knights or an entirely unaffiliated group. A threat approaches, something which will upend day to day life of the people. Perhaps we stand between it and them...or maybe change is necessary but we can ease the transition.
- Conflicting Colleges - here there are colleges of magic, at the top the rivalry is a tough competition between who aquires the best talent, at the bottom it has filtered down to something akin to football fans. Fights break out over who is best. There are, however, the academics in between who simply want to study the magic of the world.
A special place in my heart exists for this setting.
Sci-fi- Detectives - Mysteries galore. Deaths, robberies...whatever it is we'll get to the bottom of it.
Oh boy this one has so many possibilities. Everywhere from star searching explorers to virtual realities.
So I'm going to stop there. If none of those settings hit a sweet spot for you then don't be put off, I am an extremely open person* and there is nothing I love more than bouncing ideas around to make them fit. If we get nothing but a nice chat out of it we'll still be better off for it.- Ship's crew - This could be anything from a dozen or so members like the Firefly to a small city of explorers like the Enterprise. I love the freedom world hopping gives you.
- Virtual world - A great one for digging deeper into things like physical form. If intimacy works its way here I see a great many avenues opening up...
- Pirates - This could easily be a fantasy world one too. I'm imagining captured victims, perhaps ransomed off or sold to slavery.
