As an avid world builder, I can say that many of the questions and comments brought up here are pertinent, and yet frivolous as well. In order for those who are designing this new reality to reach a point where it can be properly utilized and understood, a more defined "world" questionaire or form of inquiry would be very beneficial. As in my eyes, when deciding on land, water, sea and sky, you must completely factor out anything that isnt intrinsically natural or otherwise occurs without interaction from anything/anyone sentient. Meaning that questions and comments regarding civilizations, or magic (while it can be natural as well) or other things that border on other categories, can quickly sideline the thought process needed to build a stable foundation. Those types of questions and insertions into the "world" would need to be thought of after the intitial phases of designing that basis. IE, adding in history, magic, location in the cosmos, or out of, and so on.
Just my thoughts....
Oh, and the idea of a travelling planetoid, be it disc, sphere or other, that drifts through the cosmos, sounds quite interesting. Especially if in the end, sentience becomes capable of reaching beyond the atmosphere - - - That said, it does play pretty rough with anything regarding constellations, gravitational pull (tides) and so on. Leading to what could be incredibly complex conversations later down the road as to history of "gods" or how peoples navigated in this new world.
