It's a new world for the world of the supernatural. No longer are the days of sneaking around the shadows. The public world not only knows of the supernatural, but many beings are practically worshiped. Most of the supernatural community has deferred to the new laws and systems set up by the government and head covens. But not all follow the path of peace. Some long for the days of fear and the fulfillment of their darker desires.
One family that has chosen to work with the mortal world is the Rinheart family led by the matriarch vampiress, Alena.
Alena has spent many decades working to foster goodwill between mortals and monsters as well as bringing many supernatural creatures into the peaceful fold. Her family itself is an eclectic portrait of unity between supernatural beings. Often degradingly referred to as "the pound" by opposing families, Alena has helped several beings down on their luck and in need of sanctuary.
But as many creatures come out into the light, at least metaphorically, a shadow threatens to obscure the peace Alena has fought so hard for her family.
