Top o' the time! Do you...want some soup? It's got metaphors n' stuff. Hot? Cold? That's up to you, innit?
I am Thorn, and you'll have to excuse me (I have no excuses) I'm down something fierce with a case of the whimsies. Oh, it's quite terminal, I assure you. Contagious too. If you don't want these cooties, you'd best steer clear.
Still here? Wanna get weird? Fantastic, then!
I won't even try to pretend that what I write should be taken at face value only. I weave very intentionally, and I know I'm not the only one here. I am inspired by Aleister Crowley's methods of this, but am unimpressed by the moral character and carrot-on-a-stick type of obscurity behind it. Good intent is clearly stated and accomplished in the light. If one is for the continuation of the conspiracy of silence and dehumanization surrounding esoteric understanding, I consider them my enemy.
My worldview closely parallels that of William Butler Yeats and his time, sans any petty ignorances. I'm nowhere near as eloquent as he was, but I'm a hopeless romantic in the truest, broadest sense of the term. Everything is connected.
There are lines that can be drawn in the timing of Ireland's resurgence of the arts to its independence, and I believe, wholeheartedly, that anyone, at any time can affect change in the same way, however small, in hopes that it will snowball.
Why not then make every line and character a letter to the past, or an ode to the future whilste being hyper-present? What sorts of stories capture and move you? Tell me why. Let's commit the cardinal sin of making this as personal as possible, with all of our pieces in their proper places. I've no interest in stealing hearts - spiritually or otherwise; only giving them a hug to quietly spread a forgotten warmth. A nudge to perspective, if you will. I invite you to share yours. I genuinely want to read it. Feel it, even. If you are on a remotely similar wavelength, I most definitely want to create something beautiful with you. It should go without saying that AI content is highly frowned upon. The black box cannot, and will never be able to write like a human.
I often write in emotionally agitated/ecstatic states via meditation, music, and edibles. I may very well even be out in the woods somewhere! Immersion 'til my cup runneth over is just something that I enjoy. This can often create a sort of previously-mentioned metaphor soup that gives the sense of multiple stories being told at once. The details of a surface story are still important, but my brain is quite thoroughly broken, and I reckon we can both have a proper giggle about it. Whatever I'm looking at is never just what I'm looking at...
This high strangeness extends to smut, if you must know (I was going to tell you anyways~) My profile says fade to black, but do not despair if you'd like some. I'm quite cheeky with angles and meanings, as you may soon discover...!
Particulars
• Third person, past tense, always. While I believe some degree of self-insertion in art is unavoidable (and encouraged here), the fact remains that I am not my characters, and do not wish to be treated as such.
• I will play male or female characters of any disposition and orientation. Bring on the side characters!
• As much a fan of dark and dreary stories as I am light and fluffy.
• Quality of words over quantity. Broadly around 300-1k+ tends to be a nice "Goldilocks Zone" for most purposes, but I am willing to do longer form posts, if desired.
• My goal is to focus in on the feeling and prose, while also weaving a story around it that is interesting enough to stand on its own without reading into it any deeper.
• Open to working with any style or level of writing, so long as I have enough of an emotional string to thread with. We're all improving. Let's lift each other up.
• I do not treat this like a job with strict deadlines, and neither should you. Life comes first, and muses can be fickle. Have fun, damnit!
• Don't be vague, disgusting, or mean-spirited. I'm warning you now, I can be the worst.

• Narrative control is always mutual. I can be a part of your world, you can be a part of mine, or we can smoosh our ideas together. I'm a worrisomely agreeable person.
• Environmental imagery and flavor text are lovely, but I'm not keen on face claims.
• Partners that wanna hang beyond the writing are preferred. Send all of the memes, the music, the plotting. Hell, just yap at me with no filter like I'm a voice in your head. It gives me quite a thrill.
• I work nights, and am currently in CST. I live with my best friends of many years, their son, and two cats.
• Please header any DM's to this with the title of your favorite song, or simply your favorite word or phrase. Or none of the above. I'm not your dad. Just let me know you were paying attention somehow, yeah?
We must save Fantasia from the Nothing!

Shadow Boxes
I am greatly inspired by short story compilations (Ray Bradbury is a forever favorite) that have a cohesive line that runs through them. I like the snapshot vignette style of things like that or Cloud Atlas, with interlinking stories that culminate in the end. This is a project with a lot of moving parts to keep track of, and requires a very communicative partner.
Imagine a wall of shadow boxes. Different settings, times, characters that we dip into and flesh out, with details to be traced to all of the others. Reincarnation of character's souls need not be one of these details, but can be a fun li'l exploration. All of this in one thread, with markers to track which story fragment is progressing. They can be as mundane or as fantastical as either of us wish. We could even flesh out a meta backstory if we made it a literal gallery! I do have several starts in mind to this, but I'm curious as to what other elements you'd throw into this mix. We can discuss where to go from each scene like we're directing plays. This is intended to be very open-ended.
Ordinary inner worlds in a modern setting are just as interesting to me as a fantasy or sci-fi with lots of spicy things going down.
