Here I am, a brand new member, and my current goal is simply to get into a role play. Crazy, right?
The more I read through existing partner requests, the more I found myself thinking I should tell you all the desires of my fantasy-loving heart and just let like-minded individuals come to me as they may.
Hello, prospective like-minded individual!
How can you determine if you think somewhat like me? Let's figure that out, shall we?
While I don't have many stipulations, there are a few things that you should know before you get immersed in the possibilities of role playing with one such as I. So let's get those out of the way first.
-1-
First and foremost, I choose not to participate in any role play involving sexual activity.
Don't give up on me just yet, though!
I have a hopelessly romantic heart; I would be lying if I said anything otherwise. I love romance, and believe it plays a key role in most stories worthy of any attention. So I'm all for my characters falling in love, skipping off into the sunset and living happily ever after!
But in post, I won't write any farther than, say, a passionate kiss.
This is due to personal morals and preferences, so if you harbor a need for such content in your role play, I apologize, but I am not the partner for you.
If you're still here after rule #1, then relax! The rest should be a breeze for you!
-2-
I strictly play male characters.
The mind of a woman is much more complex and (let's be honest) effective than anything I'm willing to tackle in a role play. Not to mention, I just feel plain awkward trying to play as the fairer sex.
-3-
If you're not having a good time role playing with me, then do me a favor: let me know that I have the entertainment prowess of a stale potato chip!
The information will fall just short of killing me, and I certainly don't want to get "ghosted" or drag a half-hearted and mentally exhausted partner through a whole story line.
~
Now that all of that is out of the way, let's talk about what I'm looking for in a partner.
~
Whether your character is male or female, I will be happy to role play with you, though I won't participate in romance between two male characters. Perhaps that should have been mentioned in the "rules" section, but here we are.
~
I do enjoy role playing with those of intermediate writing ability and above, but don't be scared off if you feel like your ability is anything less than that! I'm a very friendly person, and I will still be perfectly happy to have you join me as a partner, as long as you provide sufficient information and description in your posts for me to know what is going on.
You will not be criticized or made to feel small in any way, shape or form when role playing with me, period. So feel free to post the goofiest type of content you can think of. After all, there should never be a shortage of pure, unadulterated goofiness when you're having fun!
~
Your character can be a mirror image of mine, the drastic opposite, or anywhere in between. I find the variety quite entertaining.
~
Now I'll provide you with a starter plot or two, including the character that I will play in each one, and you can either choose to join me in one of them, or PM me and we can plot an entirely different scenario.
-Scenario 1-
-Set in Medieval-ish era-
Marshal Mozor has had a very difficult life.
When he was barely in his teen years, he contracted a grave illness. Bedridden for several weeks, his only saving grace was his loving mother, who did all she knew how to help him, hardly leaving his side through the entire ordeal, though he was unaware of her presence, as well as most other things, the majority of the time.
Largely do to her dedication, he eventually recovered, but it was not hard to see that his mother was no
longer well herself. She had contracted the illness from him.
His father tried to care for her as she had done for Marshal, but he too fell ill. Neither were as lucky as Marshal had been, and both passed to the next life soon after.
By some miracle, Marshal's younger brother, Callan, failed to catch the illness, but with no other family close by, the two were left to fend for themselves in the large city.
At first, Marshal did what he could to provide for his brother, but as the years went by, they grew apart. It was difficult, and Marshal found himself caring less and less, eventually leaving his younger brother, believing they could each support themselves.
In his young adulthood, Marshal met a beautiful girl and fell in love, finally finding someone whom he felt he could truly give himself to.
There is much more to this story, to be certain, but suffice to say, at some point, Callan found himself on the brink of death, no one to care for him, no one to notice his presence, and something inside of him snapped.
One night, Callan found Marshal alone with his love, Charlotte. Using the element of surprise, he incapacitated Marshal, then proceeded to kill Charlotte in front of his older brother's eyes.
It has been several years since then, and Marshal has never been the same. He has lost everything; he has not allowed himself to care about anyone or anything again. After all, why care for anything when he would inevitably lose it all?
He has dedicated his life to hunting down Callan, but the track has gone cold, and he has become a deadly mercenary in the meantime while he searches for clues.
In this story, your character could be an informant who provides Marshal with a clue on where to find his brother, or simply someone he is forced to travel with for some currently unseen reason.
The possibilities range wide, and I'm open to ideas.
-Scenario 2-
-Also set in Medieval-ish era-
Rorick Mandelson is a knight of the kingdom of Savengave. Recruited from a young age, he has already served in a war against his kingdom's foremost enemy, a war in which Savengave emerged victorious.
Rewarded for valiant efforts during the war, he has since enjoyed a high ranking position in the army, and has recently won the heart of the girl of his dreams, much to the confusion of his closest friends.
Yes, life was going quite favorably for the young knight. That is, of course, until he was called to take care of some unruly sailors causing trouble at the docks in his home city, where trading ships rested after making the arduous journey across the sea.
Inevitably, the drunken sailors became aggressive with Rorick and the two other knights who accompanied him. The three of them had things handled easily until one of the oafs managed to sneak up behind Rorick and smack him over the head. He blacked out before he knew what hit him and toppled conveniently into a large shipping crate, which lay open on the dockside.
Evidently, his comrades failed to find him, and whomever the crate belonged to did not check the contents too closely before bolting the lid shut and placing it on a ship.
Rorick later awoke to complete darkness and a constant rolling movement that was not generally considered normal on land.
Alerted by shouts and banging from the inside of the crate, the sailors on the sip grew curious and quickly opened the crate to reveal a rather disgruntled knight.
Though Rorick attempted to convince the captain of the ship to return the way they had come, the man refused, stating that he would have to accompany them to their destination, and they would eventually return to Savengave.
They never did reach their destination, however.
Adding to Rorick's string of good luck, the ship was attacked by a sea monster known as a kraken, tearing the vessel apart.
Despite his apparently cursed luck, Rorick managed to survive, staying afloat on a large piece of driftwood, though none of the ship's crew were so fortunate.
For many days he floated, alone and dying of dehydration, until finally his piece of driftwood washed up on the shore of an unknown island.
Our story would begin when Rorick washes up on the shore. Very possibly, the inhabitants of this island use magic, which Rorick has never seen before.
Your character could find him on the shore, choose to help him or turn him into a frog. Who knows?
I am very open to tweak some things and plot with you if you would like to PM me.
~
And so we reach the end of my partner request.
I apologize for the dreadful way those two scenarios are written. I shortened them for the sake of saving some semblance of readability for this post.
Again, I am very open to ideas. If you hate both of those scenarios, just let me know and we can craft something entirely new!
I simply want to get into a role play, and I hope any like-minded persons who have read this far don't hesitate to contact me...
That means you!
