Welcome to my most humble of request threads. I am going to cut straight through the length and explain, first, what I am looking for. I am looking for long term role play, with both world building and developing characters. The thought may push some off right away but at least hear out the details as to why. I as much as anyone, too, enjoy the quick trysts and flings of some one off point and shoot style role play, but, I enjoy the long term more.
I find myself here, after following my feet through the internet and have met a few most astounding people. With stories unfolding with them a bit at a time. Still, to stretch my creative wings, and there in grow as a writer I am seeking more to add to that list. I have a life outside of the internet and often times I am consumed by it, but usually manage a post or two amidst the chaos. Furthermore on the topic there are days were I sit and stare at the screen waiting for replies. We all have things that hold sway over us be it, life, games, relationships and more, I understand this.
Onto the menagerie of the idea.
Simple enough, I am looking for a low to mid-fantasy style and setting. If you do not know what these are, well, let us say we most likely will not mesh well, but for ease of explanation, Lord of the Rings, is considered by some to be middle fantasy. Low, would be something along the lines of a time period piece but fictional with minimal introduction and or use of magic, and species.
Now, to make things simple, I do not mind high-fantasy brimming with elves, naga, dwarves, tieflings and other creatures so long as it not the adventures of one character over another. I suppose this also hints that I tend to branch out and extend my dominion over multiple characters and threads of story to weave a truly likeable, erm.... correction lovable, tale.
The role play should be a collaborative work of the writers involved, and as much as I hate to say it, present company here excluded, I have yet to find many whom understand this. As a DM or GM I understand the world building process to be long and sometimes daunting, but on that same gleeful note, I also idolize those that can just go with the flow and let something beautiful bloom. It is a fine balance between the pair, in truth, letting some grow without too much control, and controlling it enough to make sure it does not bind itself into knots or expire. Tough choices one and all.
This thread, is more of a ad so to speak. I have many an idea, brimming over in my mind with the want and yearning to play alongside the many talented writers here in, that said, I also would like to challenge those with idea's and maybe even role plays already running to invite new blood into the written works.
I love and adore romance, true romance, the development, lumps and tussles along the way. As stated above, I don't mind one offs and instant things so long as that is what is looked for but, so most are aware and can clarify what I am looking for, story, before smut.
I don't mind the occasional comedy set up and strike for the classic hero gets the heroine, but I would like to think the characters a bit more detailed with their own wants and needs rather than per-determined scenarios the only path there in.
Finally in closing, I will not do much in the way of dubious acts unless enacted and needed within the story usually via the villain. Extreme fetishes, aside, I again am not looking for a story built on the basis of sex alone; but a well thought out and fleshed out world to interact within, or assist with building. I have many of my own design ready to be played as well, but alas, here I write and hope.
As a note for those curious. It is HIGHLY doubtful I do any canon work, or there within alongside a "canon" character.
I will however, play in game worlds. World of Warcraft, and the like assuming I have the proper amount of knowledge to do so.
