Whew! Well, it's been a while since I've posted here. I'm mostly checking around see what's going on at the moment and updating the request thread. All that being said I'm not really looking for anyone to fit any certain plot-line or role for me. I'm just trying to hear some new ideas and see if I can find new writing chemistry with someone. I'm totally willing to follow your plot ideas and try to feed your cravings.
As long as I have a character to fit them. If you're in the same boat as me and seeing what's going on I'm open to brainstorming together.
SMUT
I'm going to get this out of the way quickly, I am not looking for a smut partner. This doesn't mean I'm opposed to writing smut, but it does mean I'm not here for a smut centered plots or sexual centered role-playing. This doesn't eliminate the potential for sexual events in a role-play if it happens 'naturally'- Say in a hook up sense or in a romantic sense, but I'm not necessarily looking to throw my characters in a thread just to have sex. Especially if my characters and I, are still getting comfortable with things. If we do write a smut thread I have maybe two characters that we can do a smut exclusive thread with, under very specific circumstances. If they're your thing and if those circumstances can fit into what you want.
I will not change my characters or create another character solely for smut. This being said, I will not be able to write a long-term smut thread with someone I've never written with.
WHAT I AM LOOKING FOR
The type of threads I am looking for will probably go somewhere in The Dark Alley section of the site. Apart from that, I tend to write stories with supernatural elements. It's always been what I used to escape the real world. Obviously some characters are more prominently supernatural than others while others can be written as or pass as completely human. However, there are a few that absolutely must have supernatural aspects to fit their backstories.
I mostly play masculine/cis-men characters, and only play masculine and dominant characters in smut until I know you well. However, I'm not opposed to playing other genders or feminine characters in other threads. So long as it isn't smut-based. I do have plenty cis-women and/or a few non-binary characters, etc.
Oh also! I see an influx of people who write in past-tense. I, however, think I write mostly in present tense. Sometimes it'll transfer to past, but I think it's mostly present. I don't realize I do this. I actually have a really hard time policing myself about writing past-tense if people require me to do it. I do it on accident. I just don't realize. I lose momentum if I realize I screwed it up mid-post and have to rewrite everything when I am already like 600-700+ words in. I've really tried. I'm dyslexic and have ADHD, it takes me a long time to write. If I have to go back and spend another 1-2 hours fixing things I'm just gonna be overwhelmed and frustrated. So unfortunately, if you're particular about tense or have a strong preference for past-tense, I don't think we're going to be compatible. I personally don't care what tense you write in. To be honest, I probably won't even notice.
Themes
- Semi-realistic dark fantasy.
- Victorian/Edwardian Era.
- Demons
- Anything Supernatural.
- Supernatural Circus
- Survival
Post-apocalyptic/Dystopian (Nuclear, Virus. Probably not zombies, but maybe.).Currently full on dystopian type themes, sorry.- Dominant
- Sometimes I can play switches, it depends on the character you ask for
- I don't have many no's for smut and erotica writing. What is willing to be done mostly depends
on which character you are asking for, but there is a (very) small group of things I give hard no's in.
Contact me privately for smut/erotica limitation.
Fandoms - FROM
- Yellow Jackets (Of-age OCs, I have ideas for this.)
- Bones and All (PLEASE someone let me write as Lee. I'm biting and clawing at my keyboard like Maren in his chest. I'll even write smut at this point, I plead.)
- Deadly Class (University ages 18-26)
- The Vampire Diaries
- True Blood
the themes in with stars are the one's I personally am drawn to writing, but none of these are requirements unless stated otherwise.
- Adultery/Cheating*
- Vampire/Demon Incest (NO OTHERS. Otherwise siblings can be involved with the same person as a triangle, but NOT TOGETHER.)
- Religion
- YC Puppy/Kitten Subs
- Age-gaps
- Cannibalism
- Violence
- Abuse (Story Relevant)
- SA (Story Relevant)
- Drug use*
- Indoctrination*
- Prostitution*
- Polyamory*
Taboos I WON'T write/Hard Limits - SA (Smut, cnc and dubcon is....okay, but it depends on the character I'm writing.)
- Furries (It makes me personally uncomfortable. Like maybe if it's a costume hobby for YC, but I don't really want it to be a part of the plot or YC wearing it regularly during scenes.)
- Neko/Inu Romance/Smut (I've tried and I just literally cannot. I don't mind if it isn't romantic/sexual though.)
- Bestiality, obviously.
- Step-sibling romance or smut. (It's the same as incest to me, personally.)
- Under 21yr smut, just no. Same case if you're 18-20. We can write, but it's not gonna be smut.
A list of my active characters:
I can usually think up plotlines for specific characters when prompted. If you're not sure what you're looking for you can pick a character concept or form that interests you from this list and ask me about them. If the names beneath this have italics/bold that means will be HIGH muse characters, meaning that it's easiest for me to write these characters consistently and in a multitude of different stories. Meanwhile, other characters might be a little more specific.

Other Information
Who are you, how long have you been writing and what kind of things do you like to write?
Hello! Online I go as Peculiar, or Cul. I am 26 years old, I have been writing on and off for over a decade now. I've been roleplaying since before I even knew there was a word for it.
I like to write a lot of dark themes, but I also do light themes now too!
I will say that most of my characters have some level of neurodivergence and/or trauma. Therefore, I'm probably not the best person to write with if you're someone who is content sensitive. I'll always discuss boundaries with my partners beforehand, but I'd rather you be safe than sorry. I don't want my writing to upset anyone in a way that could be harmful to them. So if you're looking for glitter and sunshine in your stories, I'm probably not it. I can write happy scenes and fluffy talk, but my characters will never be unaffected by their personal experiences or their flaws. I write dark and gritty themes. Most of characters experience a lot of turmoil/are working through traumas. I like to use roleplay to work through and evaluate things that I, and the people around me, have experienced in life.
How long do your replies tend to be and what is your writing schedule like?
Length
My replies will generally range between 400-1200 words, but mostly stick somewhere around 600. I don't post match and will not post match.
In the same breath, I don't need my partner to do so either. However, I've noticed that I begin to struggle when my partner writes less than around 400 words.
Ideally, I'd like my partners posts to range from a minimum (or average) of 400 word count, and for them to at least write half as much as me. (Example: 400/800-500/1k, etc.)
Frequency
I will reply weekly unless agreed otherwise. I'm busy in day-to-day life and often have multiple threads running at a time. I like to keep posts weekly so I can make sure all active threads are getting equal attention without overwhelming myself. If I'm unable to reply I'll let you know ahead of time. Sometimes, if my other threads are slow and I have a high muse you can get 3 posts a week from me, especially in smut and more casual threads. I don't care as much about the quality with those.
Full disclosure: If I don't get a heads up beforehand and don't hear from you, at all (even if you just send a meme or song that's 'hearing from you' to me) for 1+ month I'm going to assume the story has been abandoned. If you answer 2-3 months later? I will not answer. Unless I've agreed to reboot/continue the story. The silence would have probably led me to finding different hobby to fill the free time I was dedicating to ours.
What I expect from a partner
(1) I would like if you were able to post weekly or bi-weekly, or at least communicate with me when you are unable. I don't mind if you post more than once a week, but don't expect me to match rates. I don't mind a nudge when it's been 7 days or longer since your last post, but if someone tries to pressure me to post faster than I agreed it tends to feel like my boundaries aren't being respected. If I get overwhelmed trying to meet so many threads/partners expectations it'll hurt the quality of my posts, and eventually annihilate my muse. (2) As said above, I have a hard time realizing what tense I'm writing in. I don't care what tense you write in, but please be okay with both present and past tense. I've tried to write strictly past tense and cannot. I don't care which one you do. I probably won't even notice. (3) Lastly, communication is essential in any and all relationships. Please tell me if you aren't sure where to go from where we are in the story, if you are becoming bored, or if you are offended/triggered by something I've written. I won't be insulted, I'll be grateful.
In these cases I'd usually address the problem in one of the following ways:
1.) Boundary Check, an open discussion about what we expect/want and what we don't expect/want.
2.) Try something new. Changing the environment, adding new characters, timeskips, etc.
3.) Adjust the dynamic of our characters to better suit our muse. Sometimes, I won't mind swapping MC for a different one if the chemistry isn't hitting.
4.) Edit out the portion of the post that was upsetting.
5.) If all else fails or the situation appears to be irreparable we can absolutely agree to close the thread.
That being said, if I haven't heard from you and check-in and open the floor for you to leave/tell me if anything is wrong and there is and you don't communicate that, but keep it in limbo and pretend you're still interested? It's a major pet peeve. Not only for a partner, but for an acquaintance and a friend. I won't be interested in pursuing any interaction with you, at all.
It takes me 1-4 hours a day to write my posts, and I'd like us to be upfront if it feels like it's dragging and time is being wasted. Telling me our writing doesn't mix/you aren't vibing with my character(s)/the plot isn't working is fine. I don't mind that. I get it. We can still be friends and chat if you like. However, outright misleading me is really upsetting and triggering. It quickly turns writing into something that makes me feel awful. In the past it has made me quit the hobby for years.
Dishonesty, being misled, or people not telling me what they're actually thinking when I asked if things were fine in our RP has been the cause of many of my hiatuses/muse deaths.
If you want to bow out quietly, fine. I understand that too and this goes for everyone: if you don't answer the thread for a 1+ month and you don't mention you'll be taking a hiatus or anything/keep in contact (even by just sending a meme or song). Unless you message me directly I'll assume thread is dead, whether you reply 5 weeks or 2 months later. If you do not communicate with me, if we do not have a conversation about bringing the thread back. I WILL NOT ANSWER IT, at that point I've likely found another story or hobby to slot into the free time I was taking to answer our RP.
What is your tolerance level for gore? Violence?
I love gore and violence with purpose, or when it's plot and character relevant. So long as we aren't god-modding and we discuss any physical harm that will be done to OCs beforehand. I don't care about NPCs as long as it makes sense. An example being: characters should dispose or clean up bodies in public settings and there is some risk of other repercussions. If characters just leave the bodies laying around to be found just because you wanted to write gore to write it without any repercussions/other efforts, it takes me out of the scene. I love gore, but I don't like treating it dismissively. Bloody fights? I can let it slide sometimes. It's better if they have to ditch the scene or get kicked out of the event though.
Do you write sexual content? If so, what are your kinks? Limits?
Yes. Kinks and fetish vary from character to character in my case, I usually have someone for everything.
I will not do underage characters or animals/characters heavily resembling animals though, nor will I do scat.
Those are my hard limits.
