Hey there! BlindsideTex here, you can call me Tex if you'd like. I've been writing for quite a while now. I enjoy writing detailed stories with a deep past that unfolds as the RP progresses. I will warn you right of the gate - I tend to lean toward the dark side of writing. Dark pasts make for more twisty stories - deeper lore. So on...
What can you expect from me as a writing partner?
-Detailed responses. Length will vary. Quality over quantity. However I do not do single paragraph or single line responses. There has to be something for my partner to grasp onto. So my rule is, if I couldn't reply to it then I'll keep going.
-I will generally try to get a post out to you every day or so. Even more than one response a day may happen. However - I do work 12 hour shifts, so on days that I work I cannot guarantee that I will be able to reply for you. It is an exhausting job at times and by the end of the day sometimes my brain is just absolutely spent.
-Good communication - I will let you know if for some reason there is going to be a rather long delay in my response - or if anything else is happening that you might need to be aware of.
-Creativity - I love to world build and I love for my writing partner to do the same. It makes for a colorful world that is constantly developing.
-Dark fantasy is my favorite genre. But I can always write something else. But as stated above I would expect my character to have some sort of twisted path. Even if it isn't apparent at first!
-I generally prefer to play a female character. I can play male characters as well. But if I am given the choice I will choose female 9 times out of 10.
-I like to bring in side characters to add more flavor to the story. You're welcome to play the side characters as well. It makes it feel more realistic - at least that's how I feel!
What do I expect from my writing partners?
-Communication - If I do something strange in the RP or if you need to take a break for awhile. Just let me know. I'm very laid back.
-Responses with enough movement that I can respond to it. I'm not expecting a book from you. Nor do I expect you to always 'match' my length. I think that is a silly requirement. But I can't do single line or even single paragraph responses. It is really difficult for me to work with and becomes quite exhausting.
-Ability to world build - have fun with it. Don't be afraid to add content to the RP. This is a RP for a reason. It isn't one sided. I don't want to be the one driving the train the whole time. Throw things in there - take things away. Even if it absolutely destroys a plan...good. That makes for an obstacle for the characters to overcome. That's good writing ;)
- I'm hoping to find some long term partners
Violence and gore?
Hit me with it. I'm talking quality horror movie, action...you name it. So long as it makes sense in the story. If it is gruesome then put it in there. I'm game for just about anything.
Fandoms?
I am not really into that. I feel that it takes away the creative freedom and I feel constrained. But if you have an idea that you think might be really fun to write. I'm always up for a challenge.
Ideas that I have thus far. These will be very basic, a skeleton truly. I like to talk about plot and develop a plan with a partner. I don't want to constrain the person that I am writing with.
-A world where magic has been banned. But there are those that are within the shadows that still practice the forbidden arts. Are they friend or foe? When the world begins to fall to pieces beneath a great war - will it be a mage that can stop it all?
-Trapped, brainwashed, beaten into submission - a mage that now fuels an army for a king that has been dubbed mad by most other kingdoms. This mage is the single pillar holding up his pedestal. Will the mage willingly turn on the king?
-The elite have figured out a way to use magic to their advantage. Drawing magic from those that possess it to power cities, machinery, and of course weapons of war. These mages have been bound to the capitol since birth - a nearby kingdom promises freedom from these archaic ways. But is there an escape?
-A war rooted deep and as old as time between the humans and the elves has taken a turn for the worst. The humans have used blood magic to summon demons to their side. The king has sacrificed his own kin in order to perform such a feat. Can the demons be stopped?
-Fae magic is nearly non-existent after they were bled and drained into near extinction. The Fae reside upon an island that is protected by their magic. A king is in search of a crew that is willing to risk their lives to obtain a Fae for him from this island. The world outside of the Fae island is beginning to wilt and die without their magic that once graced the lands. The crops have wilted...the cattle are ill. Would a Fae be willing to help after everything that has happened in the past?
Those are just a few quick ideas. But if you have any ideas at all that may have come to mind or that have been brewing for awhile. Please let me know!
