Hey all! The name is Trickster, or Trixie if you prefer. I'm 26 years old and femme-presenting non-binary, so I use she/they pronouns, although to be honest I don't care how you refer to me as long as you do so respectfully! I've been writing for a very, very long time, and when I was younger, I used to engage in a bit of forum roleplaying, but I switched over to strictly solo writing in my early teens. I've always been fond of tabletop, though, and a friend of mine recently got me back into written roleplaying, and I want to expand my circle and get back into writing with other people! Naturally, this translates to writing a request thread, so here I am.

Now, first thing's first, of course: I need to talk a bit about myself and what I'm looking for in a partner, which I'll do in list form, because I'm basic like that, and also because it's easy for me for reasons you'll soon learn.
  • I have a long list of disabilities. These include an old traumatic brain injury from a childhood car accident, chronic migraine, pain conditions, and AuDHD, plus a few other not-so-fun acronyms tossed in. So I ask for patience from my partners, because I have some very bad days sometimes. It also means I have a lot of trouble with fancy text. So anything with fancy fonts, colored text, large images not behind spoilers, and especially gifs, can be very difficult for me to process, and can trigger some horrific migraines, so I request that my partners not use fancy formatting or gifs when writing with me, and put images in spoilers so that I can look at them and then close them so they don't trigger my health issues every time I scroll past them. I know it's a hard request, since a lot of people love their formatting (part of the reason I stopped looking through request threads on here and decided to just make my own!) but I honestly can't function with it, so I appreciate your understanding!
  • I also work in food service and work a weird schedule at times. That, combined with health flare-ups, means that my availability is rather unpredictable. I'll try to get a minimum of one post a week, and will probably get more than that sometimes, but I'm sometimes unable to get on the computer so I can't always let my partners know when I'm going to be out for a bit due to flare-ups. As such, I ask for patience and understanding. I will never just abandon a story without saying anything, so if you haven't heard from me for while, it's almost certainly health-related.
  • On that note, I'm very understanding of my partners' lives! I don't expect frequent replies, and can work with my partners' schedules. I'm also ghost-friendly, and in the past have left stories open for months waiting to see if a partner would return, so while it's always nice to have a heads-up if you need to take a break, even if you stepped away for a while without saying anything, I'd be happy to hear from you again!
  • I write a lot. Like, a lot a lot. Like, in the past I've written 10+ paragraphs when I'm particularly inspired. A never ask my partners to match my length, but it is nice to have something to respond to, so I do ask for at least a paragraph or two as a response!
  • I write multiple characters. That's just who I am as a person. Multiple mains, or at least important side characters. I love when my partners can match that, but as someone with a background in solo writing, I'm more than capable of populating the world myself if my partners would prefer that!
  • Yes, I write romance, and even (ahem) adult content. But I'm fine writing purely platonic stories as well.
  • As I mentioned earlier, I'm non-binary. Being femme-presenting, I generally prefer to write as female (or at least femme) characters, but I write other genders as well, be it male, trans, NB, etc. I'm fine with you requesting a certain gender for a pairing, all I ask is that you be LGBTQ+ friendly and allow me to explore other genders for other characters.
  • As for pairings, I prefer mxf or anyxNB in most situations, but I've done others from time to time, so you're welcome to ask, just be aware that I'm not always in the mood for other pairings, especially depending on the character and setting.
Whew! Now that that's out of the way, I guess I should get into what I write, shouldn't I? I often write stories inspired by fandoms, although not usually canon (I can sometimes be persuaded, though.) I do have a few ideas of my own though!

Fandoms I am familiar with/inspired by include: (asterisks indicate level of current interest- the more there are, the more it is currently inspiring me!)
  • Lockwood and Co***** (Book series and Netflix series)
  • The Empyrean ***** (Book series- sometimes also referred to as Fourth Wing)
  • Ranger's Apprentice ****(Book series)
  • Game of Thrones/A Song of Ice and Fire *** (TV series and books)
  • House of the Dragon *** (I haven't started the second season yet! But I've watched the first and read the book it's based on.)
  • How to Train Your Dragon ** (The three movies, not any of the books/TV series)
  • Throne of Glass ** (Book series)
  • Dungeons and Dragons/ Honor Among Thieves** (Both the game AND the movie)
  • Fairy Tail * (Anime)
  • Noragami * (Anime)
Now, onto original ideas, shall we? As a note, most of these tend to be fantasy-driven, and often dealing in political intrigue. Also, of important note, all of my stories reference "you" but this is more of a general you than specifically your character- it could be either of our characters. I am also open to other ideas as well, so feel free to ask! I might be a bit discerning, though, since my inspiration can be fickle at times.
Elfame. Álfheimr. The Land of Dreams. The Fae Realm. They're all names for the same place, a land of fables. But that's just old wives' tales, no one you know really believes in it. Why would you? True, the odd lady on the farm outside of town believes a brownie comes out at night to clean her house, there are rumors that that horse the trainer in town has never been able to train is a pookah, and tales of a kelpie haunting the local river. Some people have even joked that you might be a changeling, on account of how different you look from your parents. But it all seems like flights of fancy to you- until creatures straight out of your nightmares burn down your house, nay your whole village, in an attempt to kill you. You were saved only by the intervention of another fae who spirited you away to safety and told you the truth- that you are, in fact, a changeling. And not any changeling, but the rightful heir to a fae kingdom, sent into hiding when your parents were brutally overthrown and their kingdom seized by the very beings who just attempted to kill you. They'll never let you live, so if you want a chance at survival, your only hope is to thrust yourself into this deadly political game in a world you know so little about in order to claim your rightful throne.
Where is the line drawn between a firm ruler and a tyrant? It's a question that has haunted you growing up. Your father was a tyrant, you know that. Now, you have inherited a kingdom on the brink of civil war, your father's loyal supporters opposed by those who want to overthrow the oppressive regime and years of abuse heaped on them by the nobles above- and by the church and the bizarre blood magic rituals they normalized with your father's permission. Can you escape your father's legacy and find a solution that will lead to peace, or will your reign be one steeped in blood, perhaps even one in which you pay for your father's crime with your very life?

Well, that's all for now, folks, although I'll add ideas as they come to me. If anything catches your interest, feel free to send me a private message and hopefully we can work out a story to write together!
