Disclaimer, this request thread isn't going to be fancy or artistic looking! Never been a good saleswoman. So, I appreciate you looking without the flashing lights to bring you in!
Who are you, how long have you been writing?
Yes, I am going to use the prompt questions. Told you, I'm not going flashy with this! Thanks for sticking around.
Hello, my fellow writers! I go by Tyche. Never really created a "request thread" before, but I've been really trying to write more. I want to return the fun things I did before I got entangled in my career. I've been writing for over...wow, I guess twenty years, on and off? My last big writing spree was back in 2023 when I first joined here. Previously, I wrote consistently from the age of 13 to 25, then more sporadically after that. 6-24 month hiatuses at a time. Now, I am in my 30s. Came back from my last hiatus about 2 months ago, hoping to scrub off my rust and get some creative rest back in my life. Messaged a few people, started a couple threads. Having a lot of fun! I just love meeting new writers and experiencing new styles. Everyone is so unique. I think I have room for one more thread, so here I am!
What kind of things do you like to write?
Medieval Times, Fantasy, Adventure, Comedy and Romance! I read it, I write it, I love it.
How long do your replies tend to be and what is your writing schedule like?
- My posts are long. Quite long. 2-3 pages in Word on average. I'm a descriptive writer, and often create multiple drafts and edits before being satisfied enough to post. I incorporate a lot of NPCs in my posts. I enjoy complex stories and plots. I challenge myself with each post because I want to become a better writer. I'm very dedicated to a good story and the satisfaction of the person writing with me.
- However, I have found myself discouraged and peeved when I feel like my partner isn't doing the same. I'm admittedly prone to being both inspired and uninspired. I don't really believe in "levels" of writing, but I can usually tell when there's a lack of effort. So if you don't really care about your writing quality, we probably shouldn't write together.
- Also, I sometimes integrate pictures in my posts. AI ones these days. Despite the controversy, I just love seeing the scenes I write get generated into pictures. I'm an artist myself, so I get the cringe, but my love for visuals just can't help it! If it gets bothersome, tell me and I'll pull back.
As far as my schedule. I'm very busy. Full disclosure, I'm a physician. I work a lot. Don't expect more than once a week posting from me. I'll keep you in the loop though. I love OOC chatter but it's not required if its not your thing. Just let me know if you're too busy or become uninterested. I'm not insecure, I can take it!
What is your tolerance level for gore? Violence?
No real limits on violence and gore. Just make it plot worthy.
Do you write sexual content? If so, what are your kinks? Limits?
I am more of a sensual writer than a sexual one. It's rare I'm inspired enough to go full graphic smut detail. It needs to be really important to the plot. However, describing the build up and journey to it: temptation, emotions, internal sensations/thoughts, and sexual imageries of the body: I enjoy that. Otherwise, I'm more likely to fade to black. I guess you can say I'm more into erotica than smut.
Theme wise. No real limits. Again, just make it plot worthy. Sometimes you need to get dark to really emphasize how twisted or damaged a character or concept is. Again, no kink smut though.
Do you write any fandoms?
Nope. And I tend to decline requests for them.
Do you have any pairing or setting ideas?
Do you have any detailed plots prepared?
Yes!!! Here is where we come to the point of this thread. I'm so happy you made it this far! I like you already! I had solely hashed out a plot with someone when I first came back here, but we never got started. I spent quite a bit of time thinking of it and feel a little unsatisfied it never came to fruition. So, I wanted to see if someone(s) would be interested?
I would need either one or two male character writers for this plot. I'm fine with a three person group setting, one writer playing two male characters, or one writer playing one while I play the other. My MC will be the female in this plot. Here we go!
This does NOT need to be a love triangle. The feelings of the male MCs to the female MC is your choice. I love romance, so I am down, but it is not a requirement. Ideally, we find a way that these three are forced together and as the female MC goes through the plot, she is trying to figure out what is the right thing to do. I plan to have tons of NPCs in this as well so these characters do not always have to be together. And I hope you create things in the plot development too!
This plot was just a baby brainstorm about to be born, so we can still tweak it!
Ooookay, there's my pitch! Putting it out there! So....

Setting: Takes place in world or land that is literally oppressed by fate. The ancient scripts taught amongst the people is that there's a celestial temple beyond mortal sight where divine weavers spin and stitch every life into existence. Let's call it The Grand Loom. Every birth, love, betrayal, and death is threaded before it happens. Nothing is random nor free.
The Empire and/or Kingdom is in sync with the Holy Temple and they enforce and embrace this phenomenon as mercy: no wasted lives, meaningless suffering, nor uncertain futures. For most people, it feels true. As their promised fates are exactly that.
However, there is a rebellion has existed for generations as well. Those that feel this tale is a lie and an oppression. They strive to destroy The Loom so they may choose their own fates. To them, this is not a divine will but a long-passed magical affliction by the royals and priests for power. How, they do not know. But they’ve tried everything: destroying temples, killing priests, infiltration, and sabotaging rituals or celebrations in the The Loom's name. Nothing works though, because every rebellion attempt was already written. Their failure was always destined thus could never succeed. It only served to reinforce their beliefs, as how could destiny be so biased?
This was the norm until one of the MCs (the female lead) is born. She was born in obscurity, a peasant or commoner with no status of importance; except for one impossible truth: there is no fate tied to her. When the weavers search the Loom, every person appears as a glowing strand of fate, but she does not exist there. She has a Null Thread. As a consequence, she can do impossible things: make decisions that are not prewritten, create outcomes the Loom cannot predict, and introduce true chaos. As a step further, she when acts, the threads of those around her begin to knot, fray or break. Entire written futures and fates collapsing.
The Rebels hear word of her existence, somehow, and seek to find her. However, so do the Threadbound Knights that enforce and live by the laws of fate. The Kingdom claims The Loom is holding reality together, that this woman risks destruction of the world as they know. She is dangerous. If too many threads break, time loops, people can vanish, regions of land suddenly become nonexistent, and history is destroyed. Her existence doesn't just risk chaos, it risks unmaking reality itself.
Whether this is true or not would be up to us! As would what the female MC decides to believe.
In terms of potential romance, partnerships, or conflicts, there will be a Knight pursuing her. This male MC's mission is to kill her, but perhaps when they meet, her effects in changing his own fate make him question his vows. How that develops is up to us!
Then there's the rebel leader or member seeking to find and protect her from the Knights. This male MC's mission is to use her to unravel the Loom. To convince her that their cause is real and true. Perhaps in getting to know this MC, their mission and feelings for her or what is right start to blend and blur. An initial goal is to use her to the destroy the loom for the people, by whatever means you decide, but that goal gets blurred by personal emotion.
The main antagonist? I guess we'll figure that out. Perhaps a High Weaver, or a Celestial (if they truly exist). Or its a war between the Knight MC and the Rebel MC's forces with the female MC caught in between. Perhaps The Loom itself is a living thing? Who knows!
