The Freljord is a harsh and unforgiving place where the people are born warriors who must persevere against all odds.

Proud and fiercely independent, the tribes of the Freljord are often considered wild, rugged, and "uncivilized" by their neighbors across Valoran, who do not know the ancient traditions that shaped them. Thousands of years ago, the alliance between the sisters Avarosa, Serylda, and Lissandra was shattered in a war that unknowingly threatened all of Runeterra, plunging the northern lands into chaos and near-constant winter.
Now, only those exceptional mortals who seem immune to the ravages of fire or ice seem destined or able to lead.

Despite the best efforts of the Frostguard, myths and legends still endure of the old gods, the enigmatic yetis, and restless spirit walker shamans.
The raiders of the Winter's Claw range further with each passing year, raiding the borders of Demacia to the south and the frontiers of Noxus to the east.
Finally, seeking a more peaceful future, the fractious independent tribes and clans have begun to offer their allegiance to Ashe, the young queen of the Avarosans.

Even so, the warnings are grim. War is undoubtedly returning to the Freljord, and none can hope to escape it.

Freljord is a nation located at the cold northern reaches of Runeterra comprised of three different clans independent of one another: The Avarosan, The Winter's Claw, and the Frostguard.
Queen Ashe of the Avarosan has been working to unify The Freljord eventually but encountering opposition from Sejuani and The Winter Claw, who has been in opposition to the Avarosan for many generations.
As a result, an uneasy peace reigns in the cold lands of The Freljord, one that is tempered by their willingness to work together for the region's benefit during international conflict.

Valoran is the northern continent of Runeterra.
Valoran is connected to the now Shuriman continent through a small artificial land bridge where modern-day Piltover and Zaun are located, which was once the center location of the continent before the event that shattered the continent into two.
While the most well-known regions of the continent are; Demacia, Noxus, and Freljord, hundreds of smaller states and nations are not part of them.
Almost all nations and factions of present-day Runeterra are based on Valoran.

Runeterra (meaning magic earth) is a plane of existence composed of the physical realm: an Oblate spheroid planet and the "Spirit realm."
It is also the fictional world where most of the lore takes place.
Runeterra is part of the larger Runeterra prime universe.
The planet's currently known continents are Valoran, Shurima, and the Camavoran continent. It also boasts several large bodies of water, such as the presently known 18 Seas (like the Conquerors Sea and the Guardian's Sea), and 2 Oceans with several archipelagos and islands around them (like Ionia, the Serpent Isles, and the Shadow Isles).
The planet orbits around a G-type star, while a natural satellite moon orbits around the planet. Runeterra's sun and moon also even mirrored equivalents in the spirit realm.

Shuriman Continent is the southern continent of Runeterra. The most predominant nation on this continent is Shurima, from which it gained its name. This continent is now connected to Valoran through a small artificial land bridge where modern-day Piltover and Zaun are located. This continent was part of Valoran before the event that shattered the continent into two.

The Howling Abyss bridge is located in the Freljord and serves as a gateway to the Frostguard citadel.
"This is more than just a bridge, you know.
Maybe it was once a simple thing of stone and mortar, but now it bears the weight of the entire Freljord on its back.

"The fate of this land was decided here, ages ago, in a long and brutal battle.
Just look around and listen; that noise is more than the wind - it is the cry of the vanquished, thrown howling into the abyss!

"Everyone's forgotten who built this bridge and why.
Everyone's forgotten the war that gave this place its scars.
Everyone but me.
I was there! I saw the battle! I died here, and I never left this place!
I was bound here to stand guard and sound my war horn if our enemy ever returned.

"And now, the howling grows louder, and I sense something evil stirring in the abyss; my hand reaches for my war horn.
This place will soon see a battle again.
One that will shape the Freljord for all time.
And if the Freljord falls, so will the rest of the world.

"Yes, this is more than just a bridge."
- "Gregor"

Ice children's herd of Elnuks.

Ice Children Village, or Village of the Ice Children, is a farming village located on the Ridgeback Mountains of northern Freljord.
I is a settlement of herders and warriors, rivals of the Avarosan tribe.

"It is our duty to speak of unity among the ruins of our past.
Now our people stand divided, torn apart by ancient hatreds.
Brothers and sisters, our enemy is not our neighbor.
Our enemy is a land without law and a long winter's night.
It is hunger, poverty, desperation, and chaos.
Look around you, these monuments from a bygone age, each older and grander than anything wrought by our hands.
These are the works of a united Freljord, a fractured land that we can repair.
From these ruins, we can raise a great nation.
We are the people of the Freljord, and this land belongs to us all."
- Queen Ashe -

The original Avarosan is one of the dominant tribes in the Freljord.
They are named after Avarosa, one of the legendary Three Sisters.
Grena, Ashe's mother, led it.
After discovering that her tribe was killed during her absence when trying to fight Avarosa's Throne, Ashe reunited with Sejuani and traveled to the Winter's Claw.
Sejuani welcomed Ashe into her tribe, becoming Battlesisters, but the other tribe members, such as the Frost Priests and her mother, Kalkia, refused to accept her among them.
Trying to challenge her mother's rule, Sejuani staged an attack on the Ebrataal tribe, which was allied, which winters Claw but was weak and had no Iceborn among them.
Finding out the true nature of this attack, Ashe refused to go further with Sejuani's plan and stood to protect the assaulted tribespeople by taking them away across the Ice Sea.
Enraged by Ashe's decision, Sejuani and the other Winter's Claw allied with what was left of the Ebrataal tribe, branding Ashe as a traitor.
Ashe took the Ebrataal tribe upon herself and renamed them the Avarosan after the tribe her mother once led.
The term, Celestials refer to all the beings that originate from the celestial realm beyond Runeterra.

Among the first beings that came to be in the universe, they are alien in comparison to the physical and spiritual realms.
These beings come in various forms.
From the Aspects as representations of concepts and ideals to the numerous beings, such as Celestial Dragons that interact with the world of Runeterra with motives far beyond human understanding.
As creatures that inhabit the ether and are divorced from the mortality that mortals suffer, spirits are similar to Celestials in that they help maintain the balance of the natural world, intervening now and then, whether the support of the cause is aligned by mortals or revered by them.

Spirits are deathless, returning to the ether when their physical vessels are destroyed and returning to continue their crusade.
These spirits, or spirits-empowered beings, often seem to have some natural ability to alter their physicality.
Spirits are seemingly not tied to a shape or time in the same way physical beings are.

The Frostguard dwell hidden beneath an eternal winter, deep in the ruins of the ancient Freljord.
They live among the ancient ruins to the far north, protecting their leader Lissandra as she watches over the Howling Abyss.
A cult shrouded in secrecy, the Frostguard archive of all Freljord's ancient history.
Though seemingly peaceful, the truth of the Frostguard's allegiance is far more disturbing.
The world had forgotten the terrible enemy that ruled the Freljord long ago and was cast into the depths of the Howling Abyss following a long and brutal battle.
And now, while the ignorant sleep, Lissandra keeps the Watchers at bay and plots to rule over all of Runeterra. Even so, missionaries and healers from the cult are typical throughout the Freljord.
The trolls and their king, Trundle, have allied themselves with Lissandra, while Nunu temporarily lived among the Frostguard.

Art ideas: Every pic I use of myself from a recent photoshoot.

General personality:
I am what they call; A rough diamond with a white pit.
I act tough due to the circumstances, and I sure look that way, but deep within, I'm still a boy.
Irritable and easily angered, I live for nothing but the heat and rage of battle.
A competent fighter and fierce warrior, I'm never scared to go into a fight and, in fact, enjoy it.
More than anything, I'm determined to obtain nothing less than a warrior's death fitting for as fierce a warrior as myself.
But when there`s nothing to fight, I can be remarkably peaceful.

Likes: Fighting/raiding, eating good food, drinking, Hunting, Fishing, loving my shield maiden(s) (If I had one or two)
I like to get under the Jarl's skin, knowing I get away with it every time.

Dislikes: Getting blood in my eyes; I Hate it when that happens! /* Things that harass me, my maiden(s), or any of my friends and kin.

Quirk:
"Iceborn":
I have a rare magical alteration from birth, giving me a solid resistance to the cold of the Freljord and allowing me to wield True Ice.
I use this power to wield my axes and sword tempered with True Ice in battle.
Iceborn is an alteration to some creatures in the Freljord that grants them the ability to resist the cold and wield True Ice.
Iceborn is a rare magical alteration that makes the individual more resistant
SR60JV4.jpg
True Ice is a magical matter that naturally occurs in the depths of the Freljord.
A scarce mineral, it is so cold that it can never be melted.
Only those known as Iceborn can manipulate the mineral.
A corrupted variant of True Ice exists in the form of Dark Ice.
True ice can be cut, shaped, and sculpted-- but not easily, and few have the skills and tools to do the work.
Master smiths, those few men that Ornn favors, have managed to craft this strange substance into powerful weapons and armor.
Only Iceborn warriors can stand its freezing touch and may wield it in battle.
It serves as a powerful multiplier for their power.
Non-Iceborn may die from contact with True Ice.
True Ice's crystalline structure seemingly can change, owing to in-universe thermochemical processes, producing various allotropes to make different weapons: from Avarosa's elastic bow to Trundle's rigid club, much like real-life carbon, whose two best-known allotropes are the soft graphite and the hard & brittle diamond.
It's more common for an Iceborn to attach a tiny shard to a weapon.

Reputation:
The people within my circle of trust know they have nothing to fear and that I'd rather die before letting anything happen to them.
The ones outside this circle know better than to aggravate me, so they usually try to avoid getting in my way.
However, when things get rough, my tribe knows they can rely on me.

Fighting style:
I'm skilled in close combat with axes, swords, and shields, but I can and will extend my range by throwing my weapons if needed.
The spot where my axe lands instantly freezes, slowing down anyone or anything within range.
Every once in a while, my great axe gets infused with thunder.
When enraged, my abilities improve.

Gear:
Axes, swords, and shields.
Body armor, Armguards, helmet.

Preferred weapons:
All sorts of axes and swords.

"Outsmart anyone you can't beat, and beat anyone you can't outsmart."
---Trundle---

The Troll king.
Trundle is a hulking and devious troll with a particularly vicious streak, and there is nothing he cannot bludgeon into submission.
Not even the Freljord itself.
Fiercely territorial, he chases down anyone foolish enough to enter his domain.
Then, his massive club of True Ice at the ready, he chills his enemies to the bone and impales them with jagged, frozen pillars, laughing as they bleed out onto the tundra.

Gregor`s spirit Is one of the shopkeepers in the Howling Abyss.
He died long ago and still stands in front of his frozen body behind him.

"We are the chosen, destined to receive the gifts of the Watchers.
Our faith is tested by bitter cold and endless winter.
A crucible that separates the worthy from the unworthy, purging doubt and leaving purity behind.
The others fight like neglected children, petty squabbles that will amount to nothing in the end.
We have a purpose: to prepare this land for new masters.
The Watchers return.
Our ascendance is at hand."
--Lissandra--

Lissandra, the ice witch.
As the reclusive leader of the Frostguard, many believe Lissandra is a living saint whose followers bring healing and wisdom to the tribes of the Freljord.
The truth is perhaps more sinister, as she uses her elemental magic to twist the power of True Ice into something dark and terrible, entombing or impaling any who would reveal her deepest secrets.
Indeed, the legacy of her past may yet be the beginning of the end for Runeterra.

"Avarosans are like Elnuks--dull-eyed-grass-eaters, easily felled by the unscarred.
It is by numbers alone that they stay alive.
I would die shivering in the cold before sharing a hearth with Ashe's weaklings.
But if they desire warmth, I will give it to them."

--Scarmother Vrynna--

Vrynna is a veteran reaver of Sejuani's Winter's Claw.
Wily and tenacious, the history of her battles during Freljord's harsh winters are chronicled in her scars.
She has outwitted, out-fought, and outlived her way to the highest ranks of the Winter's Claw, second to Sejuani.

Like all Winter's Claw reavers, she celebrates savagery and strength.
She despises Ashe and her Avarosan tribes for abandoning the nomadic ways of the Freljord.
Settlements, warm hearths, and farming have made Avarosans soft—it's only a matter of time until winter claims them.

A Mountain Drake is a tough and powerful attacker but attacks very slowly.
Capable of knocking back all enemies in range when flying up.
Bounty: 25 Gold

The Elnüks are large shaggy buffalo-like quadrupedal mammalian herbivores unique to the lands of the Freljord.
Shepherds herd their flocks to graze on the slopes during the hotter seasons.
They have thick fur coats and large, swirling, curved tusks.
These coats are sheared and woven into warm clothing and other textiles by the Freljordians.
Besides their thick coats, the Elnüks are usually a primary source of meat and the main currency of many tribes.
They are also used for riding.
