Hello, I have been roleplaying for many years now and I have seen many writing spaces come and go. Now that I have broken my leg pretty badly, I don't see any reason to slow down on writing with other people. My favorite genres involving a playfulness with history, close to the truth of it but with variations that allow some fun.

A few of the ideas I have already developed a few plots.

She was an absolute star the moment she entered the spotlight with her band. So beloved was she that many were crushed when she just disappeared completely from the spotlight, her band keeping quiet on the reasons for her sudden departure. She moved to a small town in Washington, trying to make a quiet living when she runs into a fan who recognizes her instantly even though its been years since her departure from the music industry. She acts distantly, but eventually she begins to find redemption and healing by taking this girl under her wing.

-mermaidxpirate- It has been decreed by Poseidon that all men on the seas are to be drowned in order to regain faith back from the humans that have long ceased worshipping them. They only have power as long as they are worshipped, of course. The mermaid finds herself in a conumdrum: what does she do with a woman pirate since this lady is certainly no man...

-Victorian Arranged marriage with a twist- A marriage is arranged between a lord and lady, which was common. Unfortunately, since hew as away from the manor, it was his sister who met his fiancee first. The girl falls in love with her brother's fiancee, which would doom her family's estate since they were counting on the dowry to keep them affloat.

piratexcaptive- A cousin of Grace O'Malley raids a ship that she thought was carrying precious cargo back to England. What she finds aboard is a fair noble lady, which she can ransom for a pretty penny. Wouldn't you know that it is the wife of the man who had taken her home from her father, hanging him and naming him a traitor to the crown. So she decides to hold her ransom, offering to give her back in exchange for her castle. Unfortunately, she has begun to fall in love with her...so is her castle worth giving up on such a relationship as she was beginning to find with the woman?

Fantasy/medieval: Magic has been banned in the kingdom of Everfall after the banishment of the king's brother. All of those who possess it were marked by the gods as being special, their mark signifying the way that their magic tended toward a direction. Not that it mattered much. That mark was a death sentence; all babies who bore it were slaughtered 'for the good of the kingdom and following the command of the king'. Yet that was going to be a mistake, for the prince brooded and plotted during his exile to gain his vengeance on his brother. He had just not expected his foster daughter, a girl whose parents abandoned her in the forest upon seeing her mark, to have a crisis of conscience. She defied him, though she never could hope to defeat him. Instead, she was forced to retreat and turn into an animal form to escape through a hole in the front door.

Now escaped, she raced off to the only place she could think of. The castle. She needed to warn the king, though she wasn't taking into account the fact that she was not only a sorceress but also a small furry creature speaking to others telepathically. Not. Ideal. It is the princess that she finds when she enters the royal gardens. A secret was with held from the princess by her mother: magic runs in her veins. The sorceress finds herself empathizing with the princess, so she helps her gain control of her power. And as they work together, both building their power and seeking to return the woman to her true form so that she might assist in defending the king..they fall in love.
 
I am interested in a whole host of other genres, so don't feel confined to any of those that I listed here. And I have other plots just racing around in my head, like an Old West one set after many families were trying to rebuild following the Civil War and went West.

Another plot I am interested in is a pair of cops are teamed up, one of them a regular from homicide who has let the job really take its toll. She is partnered with a girl who just made detective and was switched from the vice squad. This girl is...something. She is bright and not used to hearing no for any reason due to the fact that she grew up the daughter of a very wealthy businessman. She was a model and an actress as a teen, but she wanted to become a police officer after doing a television series that was a police procedural. Her enthusiasm is..a bit overwhelming, and she is charming but finds herself unable to quite find that niche she's been searching for. The two are asked to deal with a homicide that ends up going down a rabbit hole toward crime lords unafraid to put bullets in cops who stick their noses where they dont belong.
