Serf But With the Plague
Okay, okay, time to get back into the swing of things.
Hi! I'm Charlie! I'm a creative writing major in my last year at university. I love to write, and I've been working on at least one solo or collaborative project pretty much constantly since starting college back in 2016. I've been writing since long before that, since I was a kid, but I've only gotten legitimately serious about it in the past few years, and I've put a lot of time into my craft!
I think one of the best ways to improve one's writing is to work with other people and be open to critique, and I just love collaborative storytelling. So, even though I haven't touched forum RP since I was in high school, I figure the present is as good a time as any to get back into it!
For writing in general as well as RP specifically, I favor fantasy (high and low - I'm just as into quiet, urban magic and secret werewolf societies as I am sprawling dwarven kingdoms and worlds that just breathe magic), historical, and sometimes sci-fi settings. I love blending genres - sci-fi with historical for example, to get things like cowboys on a desert planet with laser revolvers. I'm particularly weak for romance, as well, and relationships are often a heavy focus in my work. Most of my muses are LGBT+ (as am I), so writing LGBT+ focused romance is usually my preference! (Though, of course, I won't turn my nose up at a happy, healthy m/f relationship, either!)
Despite my hiatus from forum RP, I'm a fairly experienced writer and roleplayer and tend to prefer medium to long length replies, though quality over quantity, always - a short, well written reply is, in my opinion, better than one that's long just to meet an arbitrary requirement without having anything to really say. I don't reply especially quickly most of the time - I prefer to roleplay with people who will be understanding about my schedule and occasional writer's block and wait a couple days for a reply of my best effort rather than one I've rushed, and I, obviously, extend the same courtesy of patience to my partners! I'm generally very laid back and relaxed, and I like to be friendly with the people I write with!
Aside from writing, I enjoy gaming, drawing, and photography. I live on my university campus during the school year, but seeing as it's summer, I'm currently staying with my folks. We've got 3 dogs and 3 cats. I love animals. I call myself a cat person, but dogs are also so very good :)
I'm excited to be back on the forum RP scene, and I'm looking forward to seeing where this takes me! So without further ado, it's fantastic to meet you all!
