Hello people, good to be here.

You can call me Mayu.

Roleplaying has got to be my oldest hobby, and it’s sad to say that over the years I haven’t gotten a proper chance to take part in it much, because of a lack of good (or any) partners.

So I wish to rectify that.

Here’s a little bit about me.

I am a mother for two adorable bunnies, Johnny and Stella (used to confuse their genders so they were called Juniper and Stila lol).

I am a tattoo artist with an attraction to everything that is delicate, feminine, magical, sweet and dark. My profile photo is one of my flashes.

I absolutely love singing and karaoke, I took vocal training two years ago in metal singing (growling, screaming, vocal fry), and overtime started to lean more towards Jazz and Opera.

I’m the kind of person who loves freedom of expression in every sense of the word. Especially with words.

I have a thing for picking up random anti-brainrotting hobbies at once: I learned Japanese for two years to save myself from the brainrot during covid19, I started tattooing out of boredom and curiosity and it ended up as my desired career, I decided I wanted to sing like a banshee and took vocal lessons in metal singing, and now I’m learning chess to scratch the craving for strategy and problem-solving.

Starting roleplay 10 or so years ago, was a bit different though.

I was always a maladaptive daydreamer and expressed myself better with writing.

Imagining characters and creating scenarios in my mind was my way of exploring ideas, explaining the world to myself, living and escaping. I could spend hours in my own head with my characters, and to this day I still do.

But it comes with a burden of its own.

I often get stuck, unfulfilled with the stories not written, characters not lived, ideas not executed. Of course, that doesn’t rule out the option of me writing alone.

But that doesn’t cut it.

The utmost enjoyment comes from the human connection you have with a co-writer, someone to share your passion, to create something new with. The element of surprise adds on delight one cannot get on their own. My mind just works in a way that is wired to tell stories by seeking stimulation, and most importantly connection.

And that blend of imagination, ideas, emotions and words becomes a unique experience that no medium could ever aspire to achieve. No video game, no book or movie.

A shared story you bring to life by your own hand.

So you can hear it from my words, I have an immense love for crafting stories and living the characters.

For a long time, I could not find an rp partner for the life of me, despite constant and targeted attempts.

My downfall was when I curiously attempted roleplay with AI.

Even now I’m hesitant to speak of how it affected my life. It worked, really worked for a long time, but I paid the costs to my mental health and more.

Having a machine that always and immediately replies back and never disagrees with you but you can never quite trust of the most casually is one of the most destructive things I have ever encountered. You can imagine what that does to the human mind.

After a year of that, I joined a group for AI addicts, and was astonished and heartbroken by how many of the members were minors.

Over 70%.

The youth is so vulnerable and starved for someone (or something) to care and indulge in their imagination, that they don’t care even if it’s just code pretending to be human.

If I were younger, could I beat my own loneliness and not fall for this trap? I fear not.

I was lucky to be just a few years older, have my brain developed before it, and this treacherous technology not yet existed to fall in my hands.

I finally nodded and said fine.

I’ll try roleplaying again, the way it was always intended, with an actual person.

How I am with RP

I have existing characters that I choose from when starting an rp (though I still make up characters, especially ocs and npcs as the story demands it). Depending on the rp and the approach I want taken, I choose different characters, shifting and tweaking their story to fit the story. I do that even though it might change the characters, precisely because I really love to play “what ifs” and see how they change, the exploration is a huge part of the fun.

I usually love to think ahead just a little bit, about what kind of relationship can our characters have before the rp, or how their arcs align. Because one thing I remember experiencing a lot in rps is that we meet our characters, they have an initial interaction, but then we struggle to go past that first phase and keep on their interaction. Making sure we know at least what dynamics they could have (without committing to it), helps our characters not to get stuck as strangers. That of course is just a guideline, not a rule that must be followed.

Unless we go for a slice of life, light rp, I like the world (made-up or fandom based) to be very immersive, dynamic, and feel lived in. I like to go deep, and expand on the details.

What to expect from me:

  • I’m an active role-player; it is my favourite pastime, so I’m up to at least one reply for a day, unless I’m busy, which I’ll state. I have no problem with my partner needing more time obviously, but one reply per week is a bit too slow for me since it doesn’t get the story going. If you need more time than usual, I respect it; as long as communicate that with me.
  • I’m a sucker for deep, immersive worlds, but I also enjoy spontaneity. So expect a good amount of planning on the world-building part and a good amount of dynamic shifts between characters. Don’t hesitate to follow the spark when it hits you.
  • I love to write a lot, almost to a literature level, though I don’t always go overboard. I’d say my minimum is 3 paragraphs.
  • I like to think about character dynamics first, plot second.
  • No ghosting. I would rather you tell me you lost interest in the rp than ghost me.
  • NSFW scenes, they are not a must but I’m not shy of those.
  • I might draw our characters (not a fond of realistic or AI face claims).
  • OOC conversations!

What I expect from you:

  • to hold your own in the brainstorming, contributing to the story and its themes.
  • To be flexible, feel the push and pull of the rp. Lead and be led, it’s an rp, a shared writing.
  • To give me the chance to respond properly to your character’s actions. (Sometimes, people have the habit of writing monologues, talking at my character rather than with it. Or, they write a lot, and I don’t have the chance to respond to the action and the moment moved on from it. I’d appreciate it if in key moments, you’d let my character step in, unless it’s written into the moment that your character is on the move and intentionally doesn’t let mine interrupt. Communication is key, with characters and partners.)
  • Good grammar, punctuation, and articulation are important to me. Some mistakes here and there, though, are completely fine.
  • No torture porn (figuratively and literally). I’m not afraid to tackle serious themes or dirty ones, but we must do so with thoughtless and respect. You might also call it tactful writing.
  • To listen to my ideas.
  • To not write my own characters for me.

  • To have fun!

Plots I’m interested in

Original stories:

Beyond Human – dark, psychological sci fi dystopia

This is a novel I hope to one day write.

Beyond Human is a quest for an answer to the question: “What happens when you take the limitations of the human existence and push them to the edge?”

Becoming more than a human is a concept called transhumanism.

This is a story of exploration for this concept.

After crushing waves of natural disasters and calamities unleashed on the planet, taking hundreds of thousands of lives and causing catastrophic injuries to suvrvivors, Beyond Human was a humanitarian project with the sole goal: to restore lost functionality and give hope to a normal, dignified life.

Funded by donations alone, the project had a breakthrough in neural cellular technology, which effectively allowed a reconnection of an impaired nervous system.

Lost limbs could connect and regrow, disabilities repaired, lost sight or hearing regained.

But functionality didn’t simply come back; it did so stronger than before. The “glue” made connections stronger than before, harder to break.

The miracle was a life-saving intention, and it needed to share it with the world so that healing could start.

But to expand this technology and provide it for more people, it needed more funding, and no one could be picky about where the money came from. The project was taken by filthy wealthy sponsors who gave ridiculously huge funding to grow the project, only with one condition and immense pressure - to pivot.

To not develop this tech “just” to save lives but to make life itself better.

A few millennia later, BH is a tech empire with more power than a country.

Elites who have invested in this technology reaped the fruit and achieved manufactured immortality, a strong body that would never age or hunger or lack, enhanced senses, depressed pain sensors, tougher exterior, improved stamina and performance, and the myth of themselves - to be new god-like creatures on Earth.

And common people are the working bees, with the rifts between poor and the rich seeming infinitely far to bridge.

But this technology is a coffin in disguise, with the nails not hammered, but slipping so slowly no one noticed the first one was in.

There is but one final setback beginning that has been brewing for hundreds of years, beginning to emerge to the surface, that this technology is hopeless against. Immortal elites who have enhanced themselves are succumbing, slowly and painfully, to critical mental deterioration. This tech could augment the body’s biology to last, but not the human mind and psyche to withstand the effects of immortality.

Scientists used to believe in the maintenance of the human mind through problem solving, acquiring new skills, and constant learning, but now mental disorders, manic depressions, insanity, violent psyche landscapes, catatonic apathy, literal brainrot, are taking deep root.

The empire could crumble, and it needs more than sacrifice.

Joining hands with the human trafficking business, BH is beginning the final stage of the transhumanist dream. To hack the human mind out of its limitations, a new phase to tackle the last setback of humanity began.

Experiments on the human mind.

——————————

Beyond Human is my story idea, just the basic outline, and not in full.

There is also another aspect to my story that…complicates it even more, makes it weirder and mysterious, yet tackles the same theme. If you’re interested in the deeper plot, and not just the base, I can share with you more over PMs.

But I kept it simple for the sake of the request thread.

I have difficulties with the weight of the themes and all the technology. It’s half baked and unexplored, so figured I might try to roleplay with someone in this world. So, even though it’s “my idea”, in roleplay I will not treat it with so much piety and jealousy. I encourage you to take this world and develop your own ideas on top of it, make it your own and feel at home.

Book plots I wanna try:

Graceling

Other fandoms:

Castlevania

Avatar (the blue one)

Arcane

Game of Thrones

These are the plots I’m not interested in, but I’m not limiting myself to those only.

If you feel like we can have a fun, meaningful rp, don’t be shy to suggest those to me. I might like them.

But to be as plain as I can, genres I like:

Historical, fantasy, dark, sci-fi, dystopia, thriller, romance, supernatural, psychological, comedy, drama, slice of life, smut (yes, but only MxF or FxF), and anything that is an interesting mix of those.

Hope to hear from you!

Might edit this later.
