Thalia grew up in a small town. Her parents were struggling addicts which cased her to grow up fast, despite being the youngest of her siblings. Tallie worked hard in school to maintain good grades and a high GPA while working six days out of the week to save money for bills. After her brothers passing her senior year, her parents got really bad and she finished off the last few months living out of her car and couch hopping on friends couches. She got accepted into her dream college and moved to the city 6 hours away. Her two roommates turned into her best friends and the three of them all applied to the new coffee shop opening in their second semester.A knife? Are you flirting with me? -

historyJosiah⠀"This is the last place I came with Josiah before he died." She said softly, her tone sad. "We came out here to get out of the house. Our parents were fighting really bad again, mom was high and dad was drunk and taking his anger out on her. It was about a month before it happened and he seemed so happy. This is where we had the conversation about our dreams cars and how they'd match each other." She told him. "He even told me he decided on a major finally for college. He wanted to be a teacher." A sad smile on her face. "We had a fight a few days later. I found out her was sneaking into our moms stash and using. Mom wasn't a basic weed smoking person. She was a fentanyl shooter and an avid one at that." Tallie confessed. Not many people know about her parents addictions and her brothers death so her telling Henry was a big deal. "I told him he was throwing his dreams away for a quick high and didn't talk to him for 2 weeks before..." She trailed off, her eyes glossing over. "Before I found him... on his bedroom floor overdosing." She chewed on her lip to keep from crying, wrapping her arms around herself. "They did everything they could but it was too late. You'd think that would make my parents stop but if anything, they did it more. Trying to block out the pain I think. After that things got really bad at home and I left for my own safety." She told him, hoping the story alone didn't scare him away from her. "There's so much I wish I did differently. So many things I still want to do with my brother and I can't."Her grandparents house⠀
The house belonged to her grandparents before they passed. They always talked about doing renovations and even drew up plans for them but when her grandmother got sick, the plans got pushed back. They continued to get pushed and pushed before called off completely when she passed. Her grandfather was heartbroken. He was the kind of man who wanted to die before his wife because he couldn't imagine a single day without her. When her grandfather passed a few years later, it hit her hard but the surprise overtook her when it was revealed he left her their house. They knew how much the house meant to her and as soon as she graduated, her things were packed and she left in the middle of the night. She didn't want to deal with her parents trying to stop her or gaslighting her into staying. Alone, she went through the house and cleared it out, packing the important things up and setting them in the attic.
She had to stay in the dorm her first year which is how she met Maddy and Mal. She spent the following year living in the house and the summer between her second and third year, a company approached her about renovating the house. Mals dad looked over the offer and once confirming it was legit and at no cost to her, she agreed. Submitting the plans her grandparents drew up and the whole summer, contractors and designers worked on the house. The interior was of her own design and but exterior was all her.
The Stalker⠀
When she got out of her car and started walking up to the front door, she noticed a small bundle leaning against the frame. She raised an eyebrows, leaning down to pick up the parchment wrapped flowers. Her eyebrows pulled together, looking around the neighborhood to see if she could see anyone watching her. It was a lost cause because every time she did, there was no one there and she retreated into the warmth of her house. The flowers started three months ago. Random but beautiful bundles of flowers wrapped in parchment. At first, she thought they got delivered to the wrong house but after the third time, there was a note attached. One that told her she looked beautiful in the outfit she on and the shirt she had one was outlined to the tee in the note. After that, they came every week, some with and some without notes. They started out sweet, but over the weeks they turned demanding and lustful, with the add-on of gifts. The notes demanded sexual favors to be done with the gift provided and if she didn't do it, the punishment would be unforgiving.
Maybe it was out of fear of the unknown. Knowing someone was watching her and she didn't know who they were but she probably looked right at them in passing. Maybe it was the thrill that someone was watching her, taking an interest and wanting these... desires... to be played out. No matter what came though, every week, she found herself taking the old flowers out of the crystal vase and refilling it with fresh water for the new flowers.
