┗━━━━ Adriel Telem ━━━━┛
King of the Dark Fae
Adriel's Aesthetic Board

Full Name: Adriel Telem
Nicknames: Little Demon, Scáth
Aliases: Adrien Thorn (in the human realm)
Title(s): Nightmare King; Captain of the Nightblades
Birth Date: roughly around mid-winter
Age: 1,500
Birthplace: Noswaith
Gender: Male
Pronouns: He/him
Sexuality: Heterosexual/Heteroromantic
Language(s): Demonic, Fae, English, Latin, Irish, French, Greek

Physical
Species: Half-Demon, half-Fae
Height: 6'6 (without horns); close to 7'0 (with horns); around 6'3 (in human form)
Hair Color/Style: Snow white, long and straight, just past his shoulders (sometimes pulled back into a ponytail)
Eye Color: Mismatched; right eye is gold, while the left eye is silver
Diet: Omnivore
Scent: Smoke, mint, and pine
Scar(s): one well-known scar that goes through his left eye, leaving it silver. There are possibly other scars from his various fights over the years, but no one has gotten quite close enough to him in order to view them
Posture: straight, almost soldier-like posture. Shoulders are straight and back slightly. When he walks, it's with a stalking grace that's almost cat-like: a combination of years with the Nightblades and his own bloodlines mingling together
Wardrobe: Situational, though he rarely (if ever) wears anything that bears a royal/regal bearing. Darkened armor, perhaps, underneath his regular clothes, but nothing too ostentatious. Even in human form, he dresses nicely but nothing that stands out too much

In his most well-known form (an in-between form, as it were), Adriel stands at an impressive 6 feet and 6 inches (to the top of his head). Dark, curling horns similar to a ram adds a few more inches, topping him out at almost 7 feet in height. Long, snow white hair is usually pulled back into a high ponytail, keeping it out of the way and from his face. Unlike the majority of his people, Adriel's skin is a dusky purple color that borders on white (for reference, most Dark Fae have darker skin tones or are closer to humans in terms of skin coloration). Like all Fae, his ears are slightly pointed, though they tend to be hidden underneath his hair when it is loose. His face is all sharp angles, with slightly upturned eyes of mismatched colors. His right eye is golden (as it should be) while his left eye is silver, having taken damage in his early years (the scar that remains is the only hint of whatever happened). A light stubble decorates his jaw, matching his hair in color. Broad-shouldered, most people assume him to be heavily muscular and though he does sport muscles, he is more lean with his armor adding to his bulk.

His hands are a slightly darker shade than the rest of him, with his nails ending in dark claws, a sure sign (aside from his horns) that he is anything other than just a Dark Fae.

In his human-like form, Adriel is slightly shorter, topping out at 6 feet and 3 inches in height. His hair is still light in color, though it's closer to blond than anything. His skin is slightly tanned and sporting the same light stubble across his jaw as his more well-known form. His form is still lean and lightly muscled, though there is an imposing presence to him in this form that cannot be explained. His eyes are a piercing blue-gray color and tend to flash when he's amused or glow when he's angered.

His final form is a fully Demonic form and is a darker version of his more well-known form. Though he retains his Dark Fae traits, he also sports a pair of dark wings and a long, curling tail. His "claws" become longer and his teeth grow into sharpened fangs. This form has been viewed only a handful of times over the years, usually when Adriel himself falls into a bloodlust.

Powers and Abilities
Shapeshifting: from both his Unseelie lineage and his Demonic lineage. Adriel can shift his appearance and tends to take on three different forms. First is a more human-like form, in order to blend in with the denizens of the human lands. Second is his in-between form: this is his more well-known appearance, being a blend of both his Demonic heritage and his Unseelie bloodline. His final appearance is more Demonic and only happens when he experiences a bloodlust of any kind. His features become more Demonic in nature and he sprouts wings from his back, as well as a long tail. Adriel can also imitate anyone (male or female).

Curses: from a young age, Adriel learned different curses from both sides of his bloodline. Though Unseelie curses tend to be malevolent and twisted, Demonic curses are very deadly. Adriel very rarely uses Death Curses against someone, though he has done so in extreme situations. Most curses that he has used tend to be the Unseelie curses that twist the mind and leave their marks on the body. Death Curses are those that condemns a person's soul from ever leaving their body, even as their body ages over time.

Umbrakinesis: the Lady Rislyn is one of the few Demons of the Umbra bloodline, allowing her some control over shadows and darkness. This is a trait that she has passed on to her son, who has mastered it quite adeptly over the years. This mastery of shadows and darkness has allowed him a few feats that only those of the Umbra bloodline can master: the generation of darkness (to shoot solid bolts of darkness and surround enemies in pitch black clouds of lightless space), darkness shields (to solidify shadows into virtually impenetrable shields), absorption and dissipation of darkness, imperceptibility (to use shadows to cover himself and become invisible, allowing himself to become one with shadows and pass through walls without detection), and shadow travel (to travel anywhere he wants at incredible speeds).

Induced Terror: as a Demonic Fae, Adriel has the ability to radiate an aura of death and terror to an incredible degree. Though he uses it so rarely, it's something that he can tap into without a second thought (often used on the battleground, in order to demoralize his enemies)

Dual Wielding
Nightblade Training:
Nightblades are an elite group of spellcasters who use their magic to enhance mobility, concealment, and stealthy close combat. The Nightblades of the Unseelie Court have a sinister reputation, since they are viewed as either enforcers, assassins, or covert agents. Adriel continues to keep up his training as a Nightblade. After all, one never knows when it might come in handy

Mental
Adriel has a nasty temper that can get the best of him and often brings about a rage that would put a Demon to shame. He is very blunt and callous to the point of being cruel, often justifying it as being the truth. To those that get on his bad side, he is utterly devious and will stop at nothing to get even, even if it might hurt someone in the process. He is cold and calculating and often views certain elements as games of chance. He is set so firmly in his ways and has a stubbornness to him that has yet to find its match.

As a child, Adriel had to learn how to talk so that people ignored his looks and would hang on to his every word. Growing up, he was determined to prove himself a proper ruler and did everything he could to make his father notice him. In his adult years, he joined the Nightblades in order to be of some use to the former King. Over the years, he learned discipline, how to focus himself, and dedicated himself to everything he could. Adriel is the kind of King the Dark Fae needed, after years under a tyrant. He is a fair and just ruler, taking his skills as a leader of the Nightblades and using them in his reign. Those that view him as a monster underestimate just how charismatic and charming he is and are often surprised by his quick wit.

Most people fear Adriel and it's not hard to see why. The Demonic Fae has a reputation of being a cold-hearted ruler, only granting mercy for those that beg for it. Tall and imposing, he almost towers over his people with only a handful coming close to matching his height: this makes it easier for him to be spotted in crowds. He comes across as cold and calculating, often to the point of callousness. He seems to not care about his reputation or what people think of him: he cares only for getting done what needs to be done.

In truth, Adriel is a quiet and contemplative Fae. He thinks things through before acting on them: a trait that is often looked down on by those that expect him to act rashly. The few times his emotions have gotten the better of him have set a tone for what people expect of him and it often disappoints him. His people tend to see the better side of him, as he shows himself to be a fair and just ruler. He doesn't impose laws or rules that would only benefit the upper class. He doesn't set expectations for others that he doesn't set for himself.

Adriel is a man that has been on his own for a very long time. The few people he trusts are those that fought hard to earn his trust. For them, he would fight tooth and nail to keep them from harm. Anyone that earns his trust will see a different side of him: not the cold and callous soldier nor the fair and just ruler, but the man that has been deprived of having close connections for the majority of his life. That's not to say he's someone to be pitied and he would be the last person to even admit it, but he is someone that needs a careful and steady hand to keep him from tipping over the edge and succumbing to the darker thoughts that dwell at the back of his mind.

Likes: Games of chance/strategy – strong drinks (particularly those crafted in the lands of the Dark Fae) – beautiful women – reading and studying – martial training – hunting – woodcarving – the night – the smell of black tea (though he doesn't drink it) – the smell of burning wood – the weighted feel of his armor – order –
Dislikes: Weak drinks – clingy or overly emotional women – being bothered too much – not being able to train – the heavy smell of certain flowers – the smell of blood – the weightlessness of not being in his armor – chaos – being toyed with – being lied to – those that take advantage of others – thieves –
Strengths: Charismatic – disciplined – focused – hardworking – intelligent – leaderly –
Weaknesses: Abrasive – blunt – calculating – cold – devious – stubborn
Injuries and Scars: (possible) various scars on his body, though the most well-known scar is the one over his left eye
Fears: being betrayed by someone close to him
Religious Beliefs: follower of the Goddess of the Underworld, Aldite
(former follower of the God of Life and Death, Myris; as well as the Goddess of the Moon, Nilena)
Night Owl or Early Bird?: Both
Drinking?: Yes
Preferred Alcoholic Drink: Winterfrost Wine (a refreshing white wine that is served ice-cold year round), Nightfall Ale (a light ale with a dark coloration; the taste is sometimes bitter, sometimes sweet)
Darkest Secret: His first target as a Nightblade was a lesser noble that had been making deals with local bandits in order to squeeze more money from his people. Adriel had targeted the noble's manor, watching it for a full month before making his move. Though he had been careful, he had miscalculated: the noble's son had surprised his father with a visit and ended up sleeping in the room the noble often used. The child was Adriel's harshest lesson in making sure of everything. Though he eventually killed the noble the same night, he could never quite forget the sight of the dead child. It continues to haunt him.

History
Many years ago, the Lady Rislyn – child of the Umbra Daemonium bloodline – found herself trespassing on the lands of the Dark Fae. Without any remorse, she tore her way through a sizable chunk of Vaden's forces and found herself at the feet of the King. Over the next few years, the two would face each other, time and again, until Vaden finally imprisoned her below his castle. Her last act of defiance, however, had been to steal away into his bed and have her way with him, leaving her with child.

Adriel Telem was not a child conceived for love: indeed, his mother had slid into the King's bed and slept with him to prove that she could do it. The day he was born had been marked by the darkening of the moon – an eclipse – and the appearance of a pure white stag in the forests surrounding the castle. Both were viewed as portents of doom.

Vaden married a Dark Fae woman shortly after his son's birth and had a child with her. Calden was viewed as his father's heir and Adriel was seen as a grave mistake. Over the years, he attempted – and failed – to gain his father's approval in all things. By the time he reached adulthood, he had all but given up. Instead, he threw himself into his studies and applied to join the ranks of Nightblades: an elite group of spellcasters who use their magic to enhance mobility, concealment, and stealthy close combat. His first commander was Erebain, who would later on become a trusted member of his council and the one in charge of training the new recruits.

Though Adriel proved himself (time and again), Vaden refused to acknowledge the Demonic Fae as his heir and continued to push Calden towards the throne. Those that were discontent with Calden – if only because the young prince hadn't proven himself in battle – secretly backed Adriel as the heir to the throne and promised him their oath, should Vaden pass. It would come as no surprise that Vaden would pass on a few years later, leaving Adriel as King of the Dark Fae. His first act was to appoint to his council those that he trusted and those that had supported him.

If the nobles thought him complacent and grateful for their support, they soon found out they were incorrect. Though he did thank the nobles for backing the true King, no new positions or rewards came to them. Something that surely irritated a lot of them. And their irritation would only grow as Adriel announced that he would take the lady Galyn of House Lindres as his bride. The engagement, however, only lasted a few years before he broke it off without a word to anyone else.

┗━━━━ Corbyn Helbis ━━━━┛
Half-Elf Mage of Aeston
Corbyn's Aesthetic Board

Birth Name: Corbyn Ashwing
Currently Goes By: Corbyn Helbis
Age: late 30s to early 40s
Gender: Male
Race: Half-Elf
Class: Mage (Sorcerer/Alchemist)
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Relationship Status: Single
Current Job: Alchemist/Enchanter

Physical
Eye Color: Gray
Hair Color/Length: Dark blonde to light brown, usually keep on the longish side, just past his shoulders
Height: between 6' and 6'1
Weight: 180 lbs
Posture: Tends to stand as straight as possible, though he favors his left side more. Left arm hands at his side while his right hand tends to grip tightly onto a staff that he has on him at all times. When sitting, Corbyn tends to stretch his legs out in front of him as much as possible.
Visible Scars: None that are visible, though there is an injury to his left leg and arm that causes him to favor that side more than any other. No one – save those that he trusts the most – know anything about the injuries.
Voice Profile: Tom Hiddleston as Loki, though harsher and a bit more cold, more clipped. Impatience and irritation seem to drip from every word. He speaks without hesitation and without modulating his words. The only time there is any warmth in his voice is when he is talking about "business" or when he is around those he trusts (which is very few).
Clothing Style: Tends to dress like a merchant: that is, simple cotton tunics and pants, leather boots, and a belt around his waist. Finishing out his clothing is a set of leather bracers that cover from the tips of his fingers to the middle of his forearm.

The half-elf has a tendency to dress as if he's poor: he favors old tunics and pants over the fine linens and silks of his childhood. He favors his father, in terms of height, but gains his coloring from his mother's side of things: slightly tanned with a light smattering of freckles across his face, gray eyes framed by long, dark lashes, an expressive face accented by the high cheekbones of the elven people. His hair is a mix of light brown and dark blonde, usually left to hang loose around his face and just past his shoulders. Slightly pointed ears are hidden underneath his hair, though he is not ashamed of his elven background. Indeed, he is quite proud of his elven blood, though whether or not his people are proud of him remains to be seen.

Years of adventuring has left him with a slightly muscular build, though this is typically hidden underneath his clothes. When he walks, he favors his left side a bit, as if some old injury causes him some pain. In truth, he relies on an arcane prosthetic for his left leg, having lost most of it years ago, in an accident of some kind. The new limb was gifted to him by a close friend, though he will not speak their name and will deflect the conversation, if asked.

Corbyn has certain things that he wears, no matter the circumstances. The first is the Ashwing amulet: a simple circular disc with a small, sapphire gem, surrounded by wings. Second, his father's bracers: these are simple leather with a design of leaves and vines. They had been left with him when Modyn went on his expedition. Finally, a set of simple rings, mostly made of iron. These are enchanted rings, created by Corbyn himself.

Mental
Corbyn will be the first person to admit that he's not easy to get along with. Set in his ways, he prefers things to be done a certain way and will snap at someone if they steer him off-course. For the most part, he is quiet and detached, having little to do with those around him unless he is approached first. He doesn't give in to his feelings often and prefers to keep how he feels to himself. His books and his work are his constant companions.

Years of adventuring has left him cautious and a bit wary of anyone that he perceives as "new". He has learned that not everyone can easily be trusted and earning his trust is a difficult matter. Those that have some magical talent are easier to trust, in some ways, but he doesn't automatically trust them right away. Given time and patience, he does trust, provided that they have done nothing to scorn that trust.

Corbyn himself is not a patient person and tends to be blunt when asked for advice. He doesn't hold back- most of the time- and will often say what's on his mind. The only person he could ever have patience for is an apprentice: one that's come to him for tutelage in the arcane. Someone that is willing to learn and proves that they have the time- and patience- to be his pupil.

There are a few things that the half-elf has a soft spot for: a pretty face, a woman in trouble, lost children, and animals.

Likes: Books and reading – fresh brewed tea – being left alone – children and their innocence – animals (particularly dogs and cats) – having something to do (being busy) – a nice, hot meal – warm days and cools nights – discovering new uses for his herbs – gardening – helping others – a pretty face (specifically, a woman's pretty face) – exploring new places –
Dislikes: Anyone asking about his past – cold tea – being bothered too much – having nothing to do – cold food (unless he forgets about it: that's his own fault) – cold days and warm nights – bandits – those that would take advantage of others – thieves – liars – bounty hunters – being sick and unable to do anything – clingy women
Strengths: Tutoring from the best teachers of the kingdom (both magical and non-magical schooling), focused attention when it's needed (such as when searching for something), adept at reading people and judging whether or not they are worth his time, determined to protect his little part of the world, adept at enchantment and alchemy as well as casting spells
Weaknesses: Tends to become too focused on something and will lose track of time, horrible people person (doesn't make friends too easily), impatient and irritable at the smallest things, doesn't care much for the outside world (save for any possible news about his father or uncle), isn't too interested in "taking his place in the world of nobles"
Injuries and Scars: His left arm and leg. In his early days of adventuring, Corbyn was a little bit too cocky and a little bit too sure of himself. He joined an adventuring group from Aoma, who traveled north beyond the mountains, into unknown lands. They came across an old Elven ruin that could have been a temple. But there was something that still lurked there that attached itself to the adventurers. Over the next couple of years, bad luck stalked them. Corbyn's misfortune came from a spell that backfired on him and exploded, causing rubble to fall on him. His left arm and leg were completely destroyed and unable to be healed. With the assistance of a friend (whom he will NOT name), he crafted artificial limbs for himself. They are arcane in nature, bound together with metal bands.
Religious Beliefs: The Mother and The Father (think Zeus and Hera, though Zeus is still a slut and Hera isn't vindictive)
Political Beliefs: Loyal to the royal family
Night Owl or Early Bird?: Burns the midnight oil and is up at the crack of dawn
Drinking?: Sometimes
Preferred Alcoholic Drink: Dwarven ale (stout and bitter, though he sometimes adds honey to sweeten it); Fire whiskey (when his mind takes a dark turn and he just wants to forget)
Darkest Secret: When Corbyn returned to Sharpton, he discovered that Gavi was seriously ill. The man could no longer stand on his own and had trouble even sitting up in bed. He wheezed when he tried to breathe and often fell into deep coughing fits that left him breathless. Corbyn did what he could to aid the man, but Gavin was too far along to be helped with proven remedies. The pair talked, however: at least as much as Gavin could talk. He expressed a wish to die peacefully and not wracked with pain and weakness. They knew a way, but Corbyn was hesitant to go that path: he had never killed an innocent man before. Bandits and mercenaries were one thing, but Gavin was his mentor, his second father. Eventually, however, he gave in and concocted the drink that would be Gavin's last: Divine Embrace. Within hours, Gavin was dead, having passed away in his sleep, as he wished. Corbyn remained to handle the last of the man's affairs, then left the village and traveled to Aeston. He carries the burden and the guilt of having helped a man to his death, even though Gavin was in a great deal of pain.

History
Corbyn doesn't talk much about his past. It's not as if his childhood were an unhappy one, despite being marred early on by the death of his mother as a baby. He was given to his father- as per elven custom- to be raised. His first studies were of history and religion: both of the humans and elves. Of those years, he enjoyed the time he spent at his father's side, learning his first little bits about the arcane and alchemy. Though he was too young to start training right away, Modyn definitely provided a thirst for knowledge in the boy.

At the age of seven, Corbyn was brought to his grandparents to live: Modyn had been tapped as the head of a group sent to explore a set of ancient elven ruins in the wilds. The shift was only supposed to be temporary, with Modyn returning anywhere from a few months to a couple years. Even to this day, no one has seen anything of the group that ventured to the north, past the Northern Pass.

Corbyn's childhood with his grandparents was punctuated with lessons from various subjects: history and religion, of course, but also politics and rhetoric. Lysana took it upon herself to also teach him music, art, and dance, as well. Though he excelled in everything he studied, Corbyn was the most interested in history and religion, finding that- sometimes- the two intertwined together.

At the age of nine, Corbyn added more subjects to his lessons: magic and alchemy. The old mage, Gavin- his grandfather's friend- became his tutor. Much like history and religion, he absorbed everything he was taught and put those lessons to good use. With alchemy, he learned how to create potions and poisons, how to hurt and heal and how to tell when one was needed over the other.

He loved every bit of it.

When Corbyn turned thirteen, his grandmother passed away, leaving his grandfather withdrawn and morose and the house quieter and less cheerful. Shortly after, Trystan passed away as well: he had been in poor health, even before Lysara's death. Her passing just weakened him even more.

As the sole remaining male of his grandfather's line- as no one could tell where his uncle was- Corbyn worked with his tutors and those few he trusted to figure out his next steps. At thirteen, he was far from being considered an adult, despite how the family estate was passed on. In the end, it was decided that the house would be closed up for until Corbyn was of age and could decide what to do. Those servants that remained were paid a wealthy sum- not even a dent in the fortune- and Corbyn himself moved to the village of Sharpton, just south of the capital city of Craydon, with Gavin as his guardian.

The village accepted the youth with open arms and treated him as if he were a child of the old mage himself. In a few short years, Corbyn had made a name for himself as a healer of some renown. However, he was unsettled by something: dreams of an old temple and fragments of someone's memories drove him to leave the village at the age of eighteen. He made a promise, however, to Gavin that he would return as soon as he had answers.

Corbyn doesn't talk much about his adventures, though he speaks highly of the people that he traveled with. He won't talk about the scrapes and fights he got into or the near brushes of death that he experienced. He won't speak of the excitement of exploring lost ruins or escaping bandits by the skin of his teeth. If pushed, he'll brush off any questions about the state of his left side, stating that he had an accident that refused to heal properly.

Whatever happened over those years- for he was gone for about six or seven of them- left him quieter and more reserved. When he returned to Sharpton, those that had known him before barely recognized him. He remained only for a short time before he was gone again, traveling south and west away from the village to a remote locale, surrounded on all sides by a vast forest.

Aeston was more than welcoming to the mage. He was able to set up his home and a shop, working as the apothecary and healer, as needed. He set up wards and traps around the village for those that would seek to harm the people there.

Here, he made his new home and has remained.

┗━━━━ Ezekiel Pennington━━━━┛
Arcane Sniper
Ezekiel's Aesthetic Board
Birth Name: Lambert, Lucien Xavier Romain
Alternate Name: Pennington, Ezekiel Bartlett
Nicknames: Luci (by his close friends), Luc, Xavier (preference), Zeke (also preferred)
Aliases: Dean Osborne, Avery Meyers, Byron Langley
Age: 38
Gender: Male
Race: Human (possible mixed blood)
Occupation: Weaponsmith/Alchemist
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Relationship Status: Recently single
Mental state: Stable but bitter with some anger issues
Physical State: Perpetually tired
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral; Xavier lives by his own code and his own morals, though he will bow to the laws of the land (most of the time)
Strongest Desire: For Angeline to be well. Revenge?

Physical
Eye Color: Green with a hint of gold
Hair Color: Naturally black with a white streak that starts in in the middle
Height: 6'3
Weight: 165 lbs
Posture: Straight with a slight tilt of his head back, as if he's looking down his nose at people. Tends to keep himself at a distance without seeming like he's keeping himself at a distance. Sometimes has his hands in the pockets of his pants, but more often than not, he has them clasped in front of him or his arms crossed, in order to keep that distance.
Visible Scars: Two on his face. The first and most prominent is across his right eye, starting above his eyebrow and ending on the cheekbone. This came from an accident with Tempest backfiring. Thankfully, it completely missed his eye, but it left him with a wicked scar. The second one came years ago, when his family was attacked and brutally massacred, leaving him and his sister just clinging to life.
Voice: Though Xavier was born near and around New Orleans, he makes a concentrated effort to disguise his accent and generally sticks with a combination of proper and deadpan. His accent sometimes leaks through when he is irritated or beyond exhausted. Sometimes, he slips into Cajun-French without realizing it
Clothing Style: Suits, ties, button-down shirts, slacks: Xavier always dresses nicely, even if he's working on something. Very rarely will he be seen in jeans and t-shirts. If he's seen less than put together, it's because he's either just waking up or he's in the middle of something and doesn't feel like fixing himself up. Both usually happen when he's exhausted as fuck.

Xavier tends to hold himself upright with the smallest of tilts to his head (almost as if he's looking down his nose at someone). Always dressed smartly in casual suits of dark gray or black: very little color makes it into his wardrobe. Maybe a splash of white or- very rarely- dark red. Black hair is always neatly combed back, with that one streak of white standing out against the darkness. Facial hair is kept well-groomed and immaculately trimmed. Two scars mar his face: one starting above his right eyebrow and ending on the cheekbone of the same side, completely missing his right eye. The second scar starts on his left cheek and slashes downward, past his move and ending just above his chin. Though he looks lean with little to no muscle mass, he's actually much stronger than he looks, having spent the last almost twenty years with the Wardens.

Mental
Xavier has experienced loss and betrayal and it shows in how he comes across to other people. He's blunt to the point of being rude or cruel and doesn't sugarcoat anything. He hates beating around the bush and will not mince words. He pushes himself too far, too much, to the point of sheer exhaustion. He has one person in his life that tries to keep him from doing too much and even then, he still pushes. He tends to view people at face value: what they present on the outside is what he sees as the truth, despite the fact that he wears masks himself. He doesn't believe there is any good left anymore, though he strives towards it himself. Xavier is a bitter old man that has become cynical over the years. To him, everyone wants something and everyone has a price. It's just a matter of finding it.
Despite being such a bitter man, Xavier has a good heart. He still strives for the good in everything and will put others above himself in order to keep them safe. He's not afraid to get his hands dirty, in order to keep the innocent safe (is that really a positive?). He is loyal to those that have earned his loyalty. To these select few, he's more open and capable of letting his emotions show. Though he's difficult to get along with, he's the kind of person someone wants at their back, when shit goes down. He's honest to a fault and will never straight up lie to a person: he will always offer the honest truth, even if it's not something a person wants to hear.

Likes: Solitude and quiet – alcohol – coffee – tea – reading – fires and the warmth they offer – large beds that he doesn't have to share – expensive clothes – savory or spicy foods – late nights and early mornings – sunsets – full moons – pianos and violins – the smell of vanilla and cinnamon – cinnamon rolls with lots of icing – drawing and painting – singing – the night sky, in general – hot baths – people that respect his space/time – honesty
Dislikes: Being the center of attention – loud, disruptive noises – cold drinks – erotic novels disguised as "romances" – rain and being cold in general – small beds and having to share – cheap clothing – bland foods –bright lights – any sort of "rock" music – the smell of burnt foods – raisins – being watched or followed – opera – cold water – cold and wet clothes – people that constantly invade his space – liars – thieves – loud talkers
Triggers: Floral perfumes – candlelight – anyone referring to his sister or his family – anyone referring to the Massacre at Hilltop
Strengths: Perfectionist– everything in its place and a place for everything. Keeps his personal and work areas clean, even when he's elbows-deep in shit. Analytical– looks at things with a microscope and tends to find the faults that others overlook. Reads people like a book– watches for little tics and reactions to everything around them. Good with his hands– never once falters or shakes when working with precision.
Weaknesses: Pushes himself too far– works long hours and refuses to stop for rest, thus exhausting himself. Takes everything at face value– never looks beyond the surface and believes that the truth is there for everyone to see, despite him having his own masks. Stubborn as a mule– refuses the help of others and will scorn anyone that offers. Honest to the point of being brutal– doesn't sugarcoat anything and spouts what he says as fact.
Fears: Letting revenge take over his life and him becoming a true monster by going after those that had nothing to do with the deaths of his family – heights
Star Sign: Aries
Religious Beliefs: Agnostic (raised Catholic and still practices some aspects of it)
Night Owl or Early Bird?: Waking him up before he's ready to be up is a bad idea. With that being said, he's a bit of both. Down late at night and up early the next morning. Probably why he's always exhausted (of course, it has nothing to do with the fact that he works without breaks).
Drinking?: Yes, unfortunately. Probably not a good idea, but he does anyway. Never to the point of getting blackout drunk
Preferred Alcoholic Drink: Vodka. Whiskey. Gin. Usually whiskey, though.
Smoking?: Sometimes, yes. When he's stressed, when he's fidgeting, or just about anytime
Drugs?: Nope
Mannerisms: Mumbles under his breath when working, tends to talk to himself as well, often asking questions then answering them within a few seconds of asking. Paces when he's irritated or deep in thought. Tends to switch to Cajun French when he's tired or just not paying attention (his accent also comes out at this time). Agitation tends to affect his speech, allowing that accent to come through, as well. Fiddles with anything that he can get his hands on: spoons, pens/pencils, paper. Usually keeps something that he tinkers with on hand, just in case he needs it.
Darkest Secret: In his early days as a Warden, Xavier ended up killing someone with his bare hands. It was messy and left an essential part of him broken on the inside. Dominique was able to bring him back, but it was this moment (coupled with the massacre just a few years before) that changed him.
Weapon Proficiency: Sniper Rifle (ace marksman), handgun/pistol (formal training), daggers

History
Lucien Xavier Romain Lambert (quite the mouthful) was born approximately thirty-eight years ago to Deacon Rene Lambert and his wife, Adelle Sophia Lambert (nee Pennington). Though he was the first child of the couple, he was not the first of his father's children: indeed, Xavier had three older half-siblings that came along a couple years before he did. Before Deacon's death, he had fathered something like fourteen or fifteen children over the years, including Xavier and his younger sister. Though their marriage had been one of love- at first- it became a power match, as Adelle's father had no sons and his wealth and companies were passed on to Deacon.

Xavier was around eight years old when his younger sister, Evangeline was born. Though Adelle had wanted numerous children of her own, she couldn't stomach her husband's infidelities. She ended up having her ovaries removed in order to prevent more children, in the hopes of turning her husband back to her. It did not work and he continued his womanizing ways. His bastard children were welcomed into the house as either companions for his recognized children or they were servants of some kind. Xavier viewed them as being below him and often treated them very poorly.

He grew up as a spoiled rich boy, waited on hand and foot by those around him. At the age of eleven, his father hired an Arcane tutor in order to prevent his son from being sent to the Academy in order to harness his magic. Xavier thrived in this environment, excelling quickly in his studies and designing his own weapons. The first design was made when he was thirteen, though the gun wouldn't actually be built until years later. As he grew, began to view himself much like Deacon viewed himself: that is, God's gift to women. Xavier certainly wasn't unattractive and had quite a few admirers over the years. He was charming without meaning to be and ended up having many lovers. Some were within his own age group while others were only slightly older than him. He was following in his father's footsteps, after all, having grown up watching his parents and their marriage.

Xavier's seventeenth birthday passed with much fanfare and the usual drama that came with jilted lovers. However, his birthday would be overshadowed by a much darker event: it was called the Massacre at Hilltop.

It happened shortly after midnight on the day after Christmas. Everyone in the house- excluding Xaiver and Evangeline- were brutally slaughtered. It was a bloodbath that the pair of them somehow survived, though not without repercussions. Evangeline- due to the trauma- fell into a coma that Xavier couldn't pull her out of. Instead, he handed her over to a trusted healer and went off on his own.

Two years later, he would resurface under an alias- Byron Langley- and would be caught breaking into a Warden facility. His reasoning? They had the components he needed in order to build Tempest, the first gun he had ever designed at the age of thirteen. Rather than being locked up, he was offered a unique out: sign a contract with the Wardens- usually a ten year contract- and he would be provided any information they could dig up on the Massacre. He agreed and became both an Arcane Sniper and a weaponsmith for the Wardens under the leadership of Dominique: the woman who offered him the out and would become his best friend.

In his thirteen years with the Wardens, he met Bethany Hawkins and started a long term relationship that soon became an engagement. It only ended in the last couple of years- after he left the wardens- when he found Bethany sleeping with another man. Since then, he's kept himself busy: creating new weapons for the Wardens and providing them with new alchemical potions, in exchange for any new information. Because the initial information provided?

It turned into a dead end. And that pissed him off.

Tobrin Avalone (Paternal Uncle/Second Father)

Appearance
As a human, Riona is on the small side of things, with a curling mass of red hair and blue-gray colored eyes. Her skin is a medium-light color from her time spent in the sun, though with a hint of pink undertones. She has a smattering of freckles across her face and body, though only the ones on her face are always seen. She is slim with a slightly round face and long, dark lashes. Her ears are slightly pointed, though they are always hidden underneath her hair and not easily noticeable.

In-between, Riona gains a few inches in height. Blue scales appear on her face around her eyes and down her nose, her shoulders and her hands, as well as her legs below her knees to her feet. More scales appear down her spine, ending in a tail. Claws extend from her fingers and toes while dark horns appear from her hair and curl back over her head. Her eyes become more silver in color while her pupils become narrowed slits. Sharp teeth form, giving her an almost animalistic look. She can only take this form in extreme situations, when she is feeling the most threatened. It leaves her drained and powerless for a time.

Powers and Abilities
Telepathy (Fae/Dragon)- power to receive and transmit information with one's mind. It's something that the twins have used extensively over the years, when they don't want anyone else to hear their conversation. It's private and allows them to share information with one another quickly. Images, sounds, and conversations: all things that the twins can share.
Healing (Fae/Dragon)- power to heal others as well as self. Riona is able to heal minor and some major injuries, as well as some illnesses. However, long-term illnesses (such as diabetes and cancer) cannot be healed. Nor can she regrow a limb or organ. Those are just beyond her scope of capabilities.
Enhanced Senses (Fae/Dragon)- to possess extremely accurate senses. Smell, sight, and hearing are the three senses that are enhanced for Riona, due to her being both Fae and Dragon
Elemental (Fae)- to manipulate and control one of the four elements (earth, fire, water, air). For Riona, she has control of water and fire: two elements that are on opposite sides of one another. However, they work well together for her and she has had no issues with either one.
Precognition (Dragon)- to perceive the future. Visions come to Riona at odd times and cannot be predicted. To some, she would be known as a Seer, though with Dragons, it's a different name, depending on the clan.
Luck (Unknown)- supernatural power to be constantly lucky. Not something that Riona is acutely aware of. It just happens and isn't something that she controls. But she's noticed things: when she's on jobs and she's close to being caught, something prevents it from happening. And she knows that she isn't always going to have it. That at some point, it will run out.

Personality
Riona is still fairly young – when compared to others that are long lived – and it shows in how she behaves sometimes. She is a bright and cheerful young woman who often brightens up any room she enters. Though she puts on a front of not letting things get to her, she only lets it out in front of her brother and uncle, trusting them more than anyone. She is often snarky and sarcastic, a trait that she's picked up over the years from others.

She has a fondness for children, often volunteering at a local orphanage and even helping out with the younger students. She has an infinite amount of patience when it comes to younger people, which is a plus. That same patience, however, doesn't always extend to adults and – if pushed – she tends to be a little short and snippy with her responses.

Riona is a people pleaser, often to the point of being detrimental to her own interests: a martyr complex, if you will. She will put herself in danger to keep others safe, even if another way is presented. She will put her own happiness and wants aside in order to make someone else happy. She often sees putting her own happiness above the happiness of others as selfish, even if it's in the best interest.

Underneath it all, she is a determined, thoughtful, intelligent, and very stubborn young woman who isn't quite sure where she fits in the world.

Likes: reading (mostly history, romance, and whatever else she gets her hands on) – music (playing and listening) – dancing – singing – coffee/hot chocolate/tea – cupcakes/muffins – strawberries/cherries – savory/spicy foods – the smell of fresh brewed coffee – cooking/baking – gardening – soft, fluffy things (blankets, pillows, stuffed animals) – animals in general – older men (10+ years) – dark hair and dark eyes – being treated with respect – being taken seriously – being listened to – tactile contact (little touches, hugs, etc.) – spending time with her brother/friends
Dislikes: weak tea/bitter coffee – bland/tasteless foods – dark, enclosed spaces –sour smells – hard/rough surfaces – strong/overpowering smells – melons of any kind – overly loud/obnoxious sounds – being treated as if she's slow – being ignored – being looked down on – being stared at (for no reason) – being laid up for any reason – being separate from her brother/friends – rudeness
Financial Status: Relatively comfortable, almost wealthy (in human terms); both she and Rowan have a savings account that their mother set up years ago, though they can't actively access it. What money they currently have is from their actual work, outside of the "jobs" that Talon has them do. It's enough to keep them comfortable, at least for the time being.
Sexual Attitude: Virginal with some knowledge. Sex was never a taboo subject among Talon's people and while she had initially been uncomfortable in the beginning, she has become a little more comfortable with talking about it. However, she is still easily flustered, given that she has no experience (no boyfriends growing up and no sexual partners)
Use of Drugs: None
Reputation: Anomaly. Her and Rowan are both something unique, something that has never been seen before. No one is quite sure what to make of them and no one is quite sure what they will become, later on.
Criminal Status: Might have a record, but she's never been caught doing anything. All the same, the police do keep a close eye on her, just in case.
Highest Education Level Achieved: Graduated high school
Occupation: Assistant dance instructor
Hobbies: Gardening – reading – dancing – cooking/baking (especially baking) – playing the piano/violin
Languages & Dialects Spoken: English (American), Fae (Seelie), Japanese (a small bit), French (little bits), Spanish (little bits)
Talents/Skills: Green thumb (can make even the most stubborn plants grow), cooking/baking, sewing

History
Peace between the Fae of the Seelie Court and the various Dragon clans was always tenuous, at best. Anything could tip that balance, upsetting both sides and causing an irreparable rift between the two sides. It was a careful balance that needed to be kept, in order to keep the peace between the two races. Unfortunate that such a balance could be disturbed by little things.

Oberon Avalone had been born into a great position of power: he was the favored son of the former Seelie Queen and chosen as the heir, over his brother. He wasn't spoiled nor did he see his brother as any sort of competition, despite the former Queen's attempts. The brothers received the same education, but they never received the same attention from their mother and others: Oberon was the chosen heir and Tobrin was nothing more than just a spare, if something should happen to Oberon.

The pair grew up together, with the former Queen making attempts to divide them. Eventually, though, the favoritism grated on Tobrin's nerves. He started to pull away from Oberon more and more, throwing himself into his own studies of magic. He took lessons from other Fae who were willing to teach him and – in his spare time – he studied in the library. Oberon was the first one to discover what his brother had found: old magic that had been forgotten and should have been left alone. He begged Tobrin to leave it, but his brother was too stubborn to listen.

A curse bounced back and nearly killed Tobrin. Instead, he was left blinded and in a feverish daze that lasted for weeks. Despite the former Queen whispering words in Oberon's ear, he remained at his brother's side as he rested, tossing and turning in his sleep and crying out for acceptance from their mother. Oberon only left his brother's side once, but it was enough: the former Queen cast a spell – a curse, more like – that would prevent Tobrin from having children of his own. It was to protect Oberon's line, but it would cause a lasting bitterness for the man.

It was Oberon's idea to grant Tobrin a title. Not one to placate him, though it was how the former Queen put it, but a title that fit him. Sorcerer: it was a title that no other held and one that only Tobrin would keep. It was a title that he accepted without question and made into his own. Oberon was proud of his brother for that.

With the passing of the Seelie Queen, Oberon took the throne and married a Seelie noble that she had chosen for him: Aine. The two of them fell in love with each other in their younger days, but with their marriage, that love blossomed. And wilted until nothing more was left. Aine may have loved Oberon at the start, but her love was bitter. Cold. Unfeeling. It became something else: twisted and corrupt, though they put on a show of being deeply in love. Only Tobrin knew the truth and he never judged his brother.

When the Kanamaru clan reached out for a possible alliance and a treaty, Oberon was interested, if only because he had little interactions with the various Dragon clans. The twin brothers that had left their own clan to start anew were friends, but they were the only clan that the Seelie court had ties with. Another clan would have been welcoming.

When Oberon met Suki for the first time, however, he knew that this wouldn't just be an alliance for their people. It would be something else.

Mizushima Suki was the eldest daughter of her family and would eventually be the leader of her clan. She was a clever woman of the Kanamaru clan who served as a diplomat to various clans within Japan. She had made many friends over the years and held a reputation for being fair and just. Her first meeting with the Seelie court was strained, if only because the nobles had no idea how to address her.

Her first meeting with the Seelie King, however, was different. The pair seemed to hit it off right away, despite the struggles along the way. Eventually, they found excuses to meet with one another, finding a sort of peace in each other's company. Neither one could say who fell first: Oberon or Suki. But the pair did fall in love, though there was some guilt on Oberon's side. After all, he was married. However, he couldn't deny his attraction to Suki and she couldn't deny her feelings for the Seelie King.

For years, they met in secret, though Tobrin was well aware of what was going on. He never judged his brother, but he advised caution, just in case. Caution that was appreciated but not needed. They had five years before Suki gave Tobrin the news that she was pregnant with Oberon's child. No one knew what would happen, however, with a child that was born of a Fae and a Dragon. Not even Tobrin knew, but he kept Suki's secret, as she didn't want to tell Oberon. Not right away, at least.

Around this time, she traveled from her home in Japan to a safe refuge in a little city known as Lake Lorelei. The twin brothers had settled there and welcomed her as a friend and sister. Still, she didn't tell Oberon, as his affair had been discovered and Aine had extracted a promise from him. Only Tobrin knew where she was and only Tobrin was on hand when she gave birth.

Suki didn't give birth to one child, but a set of twins: something that was rare among Dragons and Fae, alike. Rowan was the first born with Riona just behind him a few minutes later. The pair were blessed by their uncle and named for two legendary figures in Fae history. Suki then gave them two more names, from her own family and her clan, recognizing them as possible heirs to her line.

The moment Oberon discovered he had children, he ordered that his son would be his heir and his daughter would be recognized as a princess of the blood. His promise to Aine – who had known about the pregnancy – was forgotten as he made time to visit his new family as much as possible. Those were happy days, for sure.

The twins, however, had little time with their mother: at the age of five, they were left alone while Suki was drawn out by Emissaries of the Divine and executed along with a few others from her clan. Tobrin and Oberon had returned to the Fae lands to deal with a new threat, thinking that the three of them were safe. The pair were discovered by a man named Corbyn Teague, who adopted the pair and gave them a new home, as well as new names.

Corbyn only knew the pair to be Fae: he never realized that their other parent was Dragon and neither of the twins said as much. He presented them to Talon as a possible repayment of his debt, which Talon accepted. The pair remained with Corbyn, however, and were given many opportunities for their education. Not just the Academy for the Arts, but other things as well: magic and self-defense. How to slip in and out of places undetected. While Riona excelled in music and dance, Rowan took on art and music.

As they grew older, their lessons took on new life: they were taught practical application of magic and how to properly defend themselves. Weapons training was a requirement, with the both of them preferring bladed weapons over anything else. Soon, memories of their first five years became hazy and nothing more than a dream, to them.

However, Tobrin never gave up on looking for them. His discovery that Suki had been killed sparked something in Oberon. He exiled Aine for a time, though he had no choice but to bring her back when the nobles spoke out against it. He ordered searches for his children and a proper funeral for Suki and the members of her clan that had been killed. Sadly, he has never seen his children, though he hopes to.

Meanwhile, Riona and Rowan have grown into their own. At sixteen, they were both given a job by Talon in order to prove themselves. They both succeeded and were taken into the fold. Around the same time, Corbyn was killed and his body buried somewhere along the shores of the Lake: he had paid his debt, but there was a chance that he could have told others about the twins. Others that would want to find them and bring them back to their family.

The twins continue to work for Talon, hoping to pay off the debt that they owe to the man and taking on any jobs that he throws at them.

Like his sister, Rowan is still fairly young when compared to others that are longer lived and it often shows. He tends to be the more serious of the pair, though there is no denying the way he brightens up a room that he enters. Riona and their uncle are the only people that he really tells everything to. Like his sister, he can be snarky and sarcastic, an inherent trait that they picked up from their uncle.

Unlike his sister, Rowan isn't as drawn to children. Though he volunteers at the orphanage the same as her, he doesn't have a special group that he is connected to. Instead, he lends a hand with the heavy lifting and keeps himself away from the children. He doesn't have the same kind of patience as his sister for children, though he tries his best. For those that test his patience, he's curt and abrupt with his responses, opting to keep things short in order to move things along.

Rowan is as much a people pleaser as Riona, often to the point of being detrimental to his own interests: a martyr complex that seems to be shared between the pair.

However, the brothers never gave up on looking for them. His discovery that Suki had been killed sparked something in Oberon. He exiled Aine for a time, though he had no choice but to bring her back when the nobles spoke out against it. He ordered searches for his children and a proper funeral for Suki and the members of her clan that had been killed. Tobrin continues the search for the pair, though he has started to lose hope that they will be found.

Mental
River is a fairly chaotic bundle of energy, a spitfire that hardly knows how to sit still. She is a bright and cheerful young woman that brightens most rooms with both her personality and smiles. Very little gets to her, as she’s learned how to let things go. However, those things that do get to her, she lets it show without meaning to. She’s never learned how to mask her feelings and they play across her face and her eyes: disappointment, anger, sadness, etc.

Stubbornness and sarcasm are her defense mechanisms, having picked them up from her various guardians over the years. She’s not above giving a smartass answer – that’s painfully obvious – to a question directed at her. However, she knows her limits and knows when a sincere answer is needed. Snark is a tool used to keep people guessing, especially with those that know her best. She tends to tease when she’s in a particularly good or playful mood, which can be often.

River is a bleeding heart in that she loves helping people. However, she tends to go to extreme lengths – often very recklessly – for anyone that needs help. It is a trait that worries those that care about her and often puts her in very real danger. On the other hand, she is wickedly clever with the ability to think quickly on her feet and handle most situations without an issue. She’s a scrappy fighter and isn’t one to back down when cornered.

River has a fiery temper that flares up rather easily. While she doesn’t let things get to her, triggering her anger is as simple as disrespecting her or her boundaries. It’s a quick thing that burns out in a flash, but it’s enough to burn those that are the root cause of her anger. Be wary of picking a fight with her!

Dreams: Of being able to travel out of Louisiana and possibly the United States
Fears: Being left behind by everyone else – being seen as a monster or worse
Anything Especially Unique? River is a child of two different bloodlines. Her father was from a family of shapeshifters (fox) that live in northwest Louisiana. Her mother was from a family of Fae-touched spellcasters from County Cork in Ireland. Her mother moved to New Orleans when she was eighteen. River herself can shapeshift, but her fox is typically smaller.

History
Tessa Ahren originally moved to New Orleans to live with an aunt that had moved there years ago. Her original intention was to learn nature magic from the older woman before returning to Ireland in order to marry her childhood sweetheart. She never thought she would find someone else that would ignite a different kind of spark within her.

Kieran Hebert was visiting a distant cousin in New Orleans when he first met Tessa. The pair traveled around the same social circles and often ran into each other. Kieran was eight years Tessa’s senior, though neither of them cared about the age difference. The pull of fated mates drew them in and kept them together. Tessa never returned to Ireland and apologized to her sweetheart before fully committing to Kieran. The pair were married and bonded in New Orleans, where they decided to settle.

Four years after their wedding – four years of hopes and miscarriages – River Ahren Hebert was born. Though she was a tiny baby, Kieran and Tessa both knew that she was going to be something special. Kieran doted on his daughter, calling her the other woman in his life, much to Tessa’s amusement. He carried her as much as he could in those early days, bonding heavily with her when Tessa wasn’t doing the same.

River’s early years were spent in the loving care of her parents. She learned a lot in those first four years, though nothing that would draw attention to her unnecessarily. She was spoiled but never in the way of expecting everything to be given to her. She was a happy child, growing under the care of her parents.

River was only four when her parents both died. Tessa was found dead on the banks of Lake Pontchartrain, left out as a warning, possibly by Hunters. Kieran vanished shortly afterwards, the two of them leaving behind their daughter with instructions for whomever found her. The man that discovered her hidden in the hidey-hole was surprised to discover a child that wasn’t utterly terrified: she was bright and cheerful, holding up her arms for him to pick her up.

Her guardian took care of her, though he never told her of his true relationship to her. He brought her to Bossier City with the intention of raising her near her father’s skulk – his family – but they had disappeared shortly after Kieran’s disappearance as well. Without a place to go, they eventually settled on the outskirts of Shreveport, where River thrived.

Occupation: Barista/Cashier (at a local coffee shop); unpaid servant (for her aunt’s family)

Physical
Skin: Lightly tanned with hints of freckles across her nose and cheeks
Height: 5’5
Weight: 110 lbs
Build: Slim and willowy; tends to look underweight or slight
Hair Color/Length/Style: Pale blonde (almost white); usually up out of her face when she’s working
Eye Color: Various shades of green; usually more of a sea green color
Birthmarks: A tiny crescent moon shape on her collarbone, easily brushed off as a scar
Tattoos: None (at the moment)
Scars: N/A
Typical clothing style: Sakina tends to wear clothes that are comfortable but not exactly the height of fashion. Jeans and shirts are neat and clean, if out of style. Work clothes consist of black slacks and a white, button-down blouse underneath a dark apron, and black shoes of some kind (typically non-slip). She has a few dresses in her wardrobe, but they are hand-me-downs that came from either her aunt or someone else. Nothing is new, save for a few things that she keeps tucked away in her closet. Little to no jewelry outside of the earrings that she wears and a necklace that had belonged to her mother. Shoes are worn but not quite falling apart.
Powers: Precognitive Dreaming (perceive future events while dreaming); Precognition (to perceive the future; visions); Touch Sense (reading a person’s thoughts/feelings through physical touch)
Western Zodiac: Aquarius
Favorite Elements: Water and earth

Mental
Despite the circumstances of her life, Sakina continues to be the same kind and compassionate person she had been shaped into by her mother. To most people, she is a moth to the flame: that is, there is something about her that draws people in and holds them there. She always has a ready smile, even for those that are rude or contrary. She is charming in a way that breaks through even the hardest of exteriors. She prefers to see the good in people, even if they can’t see it themselves.

She has an infinite amount of patience, especially for children. In school, she was a tutor and often volunteered to help those that were having the most difficulties with their studies. This has also extended into her helping her old music teacher in teaching students piano.

Sakina is fully aware of the injustices that life has dealt her. Though she never complains to anyone, she is angry at how she is treated and angry at how easy it is to tarnish someone’s reputation. Her cousins and aunt and even her uncle have all done it over the years, painting her as deserving of the treatment that she’s given. The abuse has made it difficult for her to fully trust others, outside of those that have known her for years. The few friends she has know her as a fierce woman who would fight for her others but has a difficult time fighting for herself.

Favorites
Food- Chicken and sausage gumbo with fresh French bread; curry chicken and rice
Drink- Coffee with just a hint of cream and sugar; sweetened iced tea with a hint of lemon
Color(s)- shades of blue and green as well as hints of cream and gold
Likes: Spicy/flavorful foods – coffee and tea – sweet things (especially chocolates) – cool nights – the full moon and the stars in the sky – cherry blossoms – the subtle scent of magnolia blossoms – smoky smells from burnt wood/pine – listening to music – reading – writing – drawing (especially portraits of people) – playing the piano – dancing (when she’s alone) – baking/cooking – respect from others – the smell of sage – singing (by herself) – being listened to – being accepted –
Dislikes: Bland/flavorless foods – sour things – warm nights – heavy scents like perfumes that seem to linger – loud, obnoxious noises that disturb her – having anyone read/linger over her shoulder (when she’s doing something) – being spied on, especially by her cousins – disrespect from others – the smell of tobacco – being looked down on – being treated as if she’s a bother/burden – overly loud voices/yelling/screaming –
Dreams: Being able to leave her aunt and uncle
Fears: Never being able to leave – being alone for the rest of her life
Financial Status: Depends on who one asks. Technically, she is wealthy in terms of what her grandmother left behind, supplemented by what her mother added to it in those few, short years. However, she herself does not have full access to the funds until she either turns twenty-five (a caveat put into place by both her grandmother and mother) or until she’s married. For the time being, she fully relies on the “charity” of her aunt and uncle, who do not provide her with near enough to be able to move out on her own. She works part-time and has been saving what she makes, but she doesn’t have enough to be able to support herself fully
Sexual Attitude: Virgin: no experience. Sakina has never had a boyfriend or even a sexual partner. Most of her peers in school looked down on her, since her cousins did the same. Outside of school, she’s had little to no social interactions with other people. It’s possible that she has experimented with herself, learning what she likes and dislikes.
Dominant Hand: Ambidextrous
Scent: Vanilla and cherry blossom with a hint of coffee
Diet: Omnivore
Use of Alcohol?: Rarely
-Favorite Alcoholic Beverage: White wine
Reputation: In their aunt’s social circle, Sakina is viewed as the black sheep of the family, despite her doing nothing to earn that reputation. She was taken in by her aunt and her uncle, but it wasn’t done happily. Neither of them wanted the bastard-born child of a slut (their own words) and were worried that Maryse’s “loose ways” with a married man would rub off on her. To the pair, she was just a bastard child that needed to be “handled” properly.

To her co-workers, Sakina has a reputation for being on time and always ready with a smile. She doesn’t complain about anything – even her home life – and is viewed as a kind and quiet young woman.
Criminal Status: None
Anything Especially Unique?
-Sakina’s father is not human, making her something that is only half-human. Most likely, her father is Fae, due to her beauty and charm. The abilities that she has are from her father's side, though there is no way to tell what bloodline he was from or even if he was from the royal family. Her father has not been a part of her life since she was little and she remembers very little about him

-Sakina has – certainly – suffered abuse: physical, verbal, and emotional. All at the hands of her aunt and uncle and cousins, though it was started by her uncle. It is unknown if she has experienced sexual abuse, though this could explain the gap in her memories for that one year at the age of sixteen. However, there is no proof of this and Sakina herself finds it highly unlikely.

-Sebastian is in debt: there is no way around it. He owes a great deal of money to various people within the city of New Orleans. He has gambled from the first days of his marriage up until now. Though he had the best of luck at the start, things have gone downhill, to the point where he has almost lost their home and even his job because of his debts. No one – outside of Sakina – is fully aware of just how bad the debts are. Christine and his kids believe they are still wealthy and continue to spend money without hesitation.

History
Maryse Blanchard was never a healthy woman. The majority of her childhood was punctuated by extended hospital visits and illnesses that would linger for far longer than they normally would. There was always a fear that she would never recover, that she would remain in the hospital until she passed away. But she would always pull through – albeit much weaker than before – with no explanation being found for her illnesses. Throughout her adolescent years, however, and into adulthood, she saw the doctors less and less. It was speculated that whatever illness haunted her had vanished completely.

In college, she met a man that her friends would simply call “beautiful”. Her family never met the man, only heard stories about him from Maryse and her friends. Her friends only ever saw him around Maryse, never anywhere else. But there was no denying the attraction between the pair. There was always a light in Maryse’s eyes each time he was around. And there was always a warm smile on his face when Maryse was at his side. No one could really remember what he looked like, save that his hair and eyes were pale. Traits that were passed on to his daughter.

Sakina was born shortly after Maryse’s twentieth birthday. Those first couple of years – with her mother and father – were happy ones. Days were filled with laughter and joyful times that Sakina remembered well. The house was always warm and cozy, with Maryse pleased that her lover remained nearby. Slowly, however, things began to fall apart. Her father wasn’t around much and Maryse became ill more and more frequently. There were times when Sakina stayed at the hospital more than she was home. Maryse was determined to push on, but depression made her sicker and left her in an eternally weak state.

At the age of six – just weeks after her birthday – Sakina sat in the hospital room one last time, holding her mother’s hand. Maryse passed away in her sleep, never recovering the strength she had lost. Xavier – Maryse’s brother and Sakina’s uncle – handled all arrangements of a funeral and memorial service. He tried to keep Sakina with him, but his job required him to leave without a moment’s notice to travel. He couldn’t take Sakina with him each time, either. He reached out to their sister, Christine, to take Sakina in and treat her as her own child.

Her aunt’s home was not a happy one. At least, not for Sakina. Her uncle Sebastian was a cold man that sneered at her and threatened to strike her if she stepped out of line. Her cousins treated Sakina as if she were their personal servant – which Christine went along with – and talked to her as if she were the dirt under their feet. Though it was all kept behind closed doors, Sakina was abused by her relations: physically, emotionally, and verbally.

Sakina was saddled with housework the moment she turned ten and ordered the others to treat her as another servant within the house, though unpaid. In school, she was enrolled with her cousins, but she found it difficult to make friends there due to her cousins. She was an outcast, both at home and at school.

As Sakina grew, it became apparent that she would be a beautiful woman: a potent mix of Maryse and her father’s ethereal beauty. This made the abuse towards all the more horrible. Never anything that could be seen, of course, and nothing left lasting marks. Her uncle was the worst: he spouted abuse in his most drunken moments and threatened to sell her off. It didn’t matter if it was to a friend or someone he owed money to: he would sell her off and be rid of her. But he never did. After all, he didn’t want his wife or children to know just how deep he had fallen into gambling.

After her fourteenth birthday, she found herself experiencing little things that caused her to withdraw even more into herself. Dreams that became the truth and daydreams that could have been prophetic in nature. Touching people even gave her insight that she didn’t want or even need. Despite it all, she remained the same kind and compassionate young woman that she had always been, if a little more withdrawn than before.

Curiously, at sixteen, there is a blank space in her memories. She remembers bits and pieces of that year, but there is a gap that she is unable to explain. Trying to decipher it causes her to have a headache and leaves her sick for a day or two. She continues to try and push past it, but nothing she does ever makes it past that gap.

Now, at twenty-one, she continues to live with her family with no other place to go. The money she earns from the coffee shop wouldn’t sufficiently cover living expenses. Her inheritance is sitting in wait, unable to be touched by anyone. But what’s to prevent her uncle from striking a deal with someone? Her hand in marriage and a portion of her inheritance goes towards “payment” for raising her?

Riona Avalone (niece)
Rowan Avalone (nephew)

Appearance
There is no mistaking Tobrin for anyone else: the first glance of those eyes, clouded over from being blind, immediately identify him as the uncle of Riona and Rowan and the brother of the Seelie King, Oberon. Dark blond hair is usually pulled back from his face in a messy, often lazy ponytail that's held back by an elastic band that may or may not have belonged to his niece (if it has flowers on it, then it was definitely hers). He stands straight, arms often crossed over his chest. Not as a means to assert dominance or to make people nervous: it's comforting for him. A means to keep people at a distance. When he talks, however, he moves his hands in a way that's similar to the twins, though not nearly as energetic.

Tobrin tends to wear clothes that are comfortable, if a little worn around the edges: old, long sleeve shirts that cover his arms, jeans or loose cotton pants that are neutral in colors. Very rarely will he dress up, as he doesn't see the point to it. If need be, however, he does dress in the formal attire of an advisor to the Seelie King, in colors that are suitable for him: muted tones of green and brown. Hints of cream and gold.

It should be noted, for those that are lucky enough to see them, that Tobrin does sport a number of tattoos on his body. They cover him from his collar bones down his chest and back, along his shoulders and arms, and down his legs. These tattoos are varied and have different meanings to them, but they are all the same at the root: they carry some magical component to them. Runes and signets and spells that he can easily tap into. He knows where each one is and what each one does, whether it's by themselves or when combined with others.

After all, there is a reason as to why he is so feared as the Seelie Sorcerer (often just referred to as the Fae Sorcerer, as there is only him).

Powers and Abilities
Telepathy: the ability to communicate with others through thoughts, feelings, impressions, and images. Used as a long distance means of communication, the strongest of telepaths is able to also use it as a source of manipulation, controlling the thoughts of others so adeptly that they believe the thoughts of the manipulator are their own. However, those with a stronger will or have natural blocks on their minds are unable to have their minds pierced by another. Most normal humans can be affected.
Empathy: the passive ability to sense another person's pain and emotions. Strong empaths tend to become so overwhelmed by another person's pain. This causes them to become physically weak or even sickened by it.
Healing: to ease pain and cure illnesses or wounds, whether it be on oneself or someone else. Terminal illnesses and lifelong diseases are not able to be healed. For someone like Tobrin, however, he is able to bring someone back from the brink of death. However, it can leave him severely weakened for an amount of time, usually days at a time.
Veil Sight: Tobrin lost his sight long ago, but he learned how to cope. Over the years, he developed his own brand of magic that allows him to "see" things. For him, it's light and shadow of vague shapes. Photographs, paintings, or pictures of any kind are easier to see, as there is always some kind of magic to them.
Elemental: the control of one or more of the four basic elements (earth, air, fire, water). As an elemental, one is able to call upon their element in order to aid them in a given situation, whether it be offensive or defensive. There are a small handful of Fae that are able to control all four of the basic elements, but they are considered very rare and genetic outcasts. For Tobrin, his primary elements are earth and fire, with just a touch of water.
Enhanced Senses
Spiritual Awareness:
the ability to see and sense when others aren't quite human. (Cannot always tell what- exactly- a person is if they are not completely human)
Glamour: the ability to change one's appearance, whether it be subtle changes or an overall shift from one form to another. A subtle change wouldn't be noticeable right away other than to those with some level of spiritual awareness. Overall shifts in a person's appearance (from one form to another) is generally overlooked by all, though there is always something that carries over of the person to their new form (for example, a Fae shifting to a fox might have blue eyes instead of gold or have a streak of their natural hair color down the back).

Personality
There is a reason why most people refer to Tobrin as the Old Grouch: this tends to be his dominant personality. He speaks with a bit of a growl to his voice, though there is often no real anger or heat to his words. His patience for others only goes so far, as he has very little of it for those that are intentionally stupid. However, there is no denying his skills as a diplomat: he has learned – over the years – how best to handle those that would continually harass his brother, the King, with their grievances.

Tobrin is as stubborn as they come, often refusing help when he actually needs it the most, especially if he feels that he can accomplish something on his own. He is snarky and sarcastic, blunt and honest when needed. He has enough tact, however, to know when bluntness isn’t necessarily needed, in order to keep feelings from being hurt. He is loyal to those that have earned his loyalty and vicious against those that would try to harm them. He protects those that he cares for, whether they are family or extended family.

Likes: music – cooking – studying/reading – solitude – gardening – his brother – Suki (when she was alive) – his niece and nephew (despite not seeing them in so long) – strong alcohol – tea/coffee – animals – children (has more patience with them that anyone) – subtle smells (parchment and ink and leather) – blueberry muffins – warmth and fire – people that are willing to learn – people that respect him and his space – spicy foods –
Dislikes: dishonesty/liars/cheaters – rudeness – invasion of his privacy/personal space – being underestimated – his sister-in-law – most nobles – loud, disruptive noises – sour foods – weak coffee/tea – anyone that would cause harm to his family – strong, overpowering smells (like perfumes/colognes) – cold and snow – people that give up too easily – people that are unwilling to learn –
Financial Status: Relatively comfortable, almost wealthy (in human terms); the royal family of the Seelie Fae have their fingers in a lot of pies within the human lands. Tobrin invested over the years and built on that with odd jobs taken throughout his time in the human lands. Most of what he has isn’t touched, save to help others, if they need it
Sexual Attitude: Not a virgin, but he hasn’t had sex in years. In part, due to his own reluctance to attempt a relationship with someone. Casual sex is a possibility, but he’s had too many attempt to use that as a means to get closer to him and to his family
Use of Drugs: None
Reputation: Outcast. Even among the other Fae, he’s considered an abnormality: a blind Fae is considered someone to be pitied rather than respected or even feared. Among the humans, his blindness is seen as a weakness, as a call for help. As such, he tends to keep to himself.
Criminal Status: Unknown
Highest Education Level Achieved: High school equivalent with some higher education
Occupation: Advisor to the King (Fae Lands); owner of the Enchanted Garden (specialty teas)
Hobbies: Gardening – reading – cooking/baking (especially baking) – playing the piano/violin
Languages & Dialects Spoken: English (American), Latin, Spanish, French, Greek, Chinese
Talents/Skills: Green thumb (can make even the most stubborn plants grow), cooking/baking, enchanting

History
If the Seelie Queen hadn’t been such a bitch in her life, perhaps things would have worked out differently for everyone involved. Tobrin and Oberon would not have worked so hard together to provide a united front against their mother. But their mother decided – the moment the pair of them were ten – that she would pour all her time and energy into Oberon only. She was driven by the idea that her family was the only one allowed to keep the throne, making her a ruthless leader with no patience for the nobility. For her second son, she was nothing more than a cold figure that often spoke down on him.

The pair were given the same chances in lessons and training, but the Queen forced the tutors to focus mostly on Oberon, leaving Tobrin to take any scraps that he could. The tutors took pity on him and praised him in the same breath as Oberon, but their mother didn’t care. It was a harsh lesson for a child to learn: that their mother no longer cared for them. Tobrin was disgusted and hurt by the revelation and threw himself more into his studies, moving on to more advanced topics: magic and magical theory. Runes and glyphs and incantations that had long been forgotten, except by a few wise sages.

He explored the lands that belonged to the Seelie and discovered things long forgotten. His drive to prove himself – to be better – would be his undoing and drive a deeper wedge between himself and his mother. It was an accident or maybe it was something else: either way, a wayward spell backfired on him, becoming a curse. It should have been left alone. The cost was a high one: it was nearly his life that ended that day. Instead, he lost his eyesight and was left in a feverish haze for days or weeks.

Their mother was not sympathetic to his folly. However long she remained at his bedside, there was a purpose for it. She cast a spell over him, to prevent him from carrying on his own line. One that could possibly serve as a rival to Oberon’s line. Tobrin would never have children of his own.

Tobrin was bitter about his loss of eyesight. He snapped at anyone that came near him, including those that had been sympathetic to him previously. The only person that could tolerate being around him was Oberon. The Crowned Prince spoke to their mother, convincing her to grant Tobrin a title to bolster his spirits. While she might have intended it as a mockery – a joke – Oberon meant it as an honor for his brother: the Sorcerer of the Seelie Court.

It did what Oberon hoped that it would. It gave Tobrin something to strive for, to call his own. For years, he worked tirelessly to build up his reputation, studying those magics that had been closed off to him previously. In time, he earned the begrudging respect of the nobles and other Fae who came to him for assistance. As for the former Queen, she never saw what her forgotten son became: she died shortly after Tobrin began his studies anew.

Oberon named Tobrin as his first advisor, trusting him above all others for his insight and wisdom. Though their relationship was rocky at first, they grew closer. Even after Oberon married Aine, and she took the title of Seelie Queen. Even after Oberon entered a relationship with Suki, the leader of one of the Dragon Clans of Japan. He spoke of caution to his brother, but he never judged him for his heart.

Suki became something of a sister for Tobrin, coming to him when she had questions about the Fae that Oberon couldn’t – or wouldn’t – answer. He was the first person to discover she was with child. And she extracted a promise from him: that he would not tell Oberon, as Oberon’s affair had been discovered by Aine. Tobrin agreed and moved to Lake Lorelei when Suki did, in order to keep an eye on her.

Everything went so quickly: the birth of the twins, Oberon meeting his children, and then Suki’s death. He didn’t even know the twins weren’t with her until later on, but it was too late: they were gone. He has spent the last eighteen years searching for the twins, but to no avail. It’s as if they disappeared completely.

History
Rinori is the daughter of the Lady of the Autumn Court and Helion, High Lord of the Day Court, as a result of their secret love affair. When she was pregnant with both of her children, the Lady was already married to Beron Vanserra, the High Lord of the Autumn Court. Fearing for her life and the lives of her unborn children- as Beron’s temper and penchant for violence were well-known to all, the Lady of the Autumn Court attempted to pass her bastard children off as true children of Beron. Her husband, however, always suspected the truth. Both Lucien and Rinori believe themselves to be the youngest blooded children of Beron as they were raised as one of the eight children of the High Lord, and were never told the truth.

Rinori grew up in the Autumn Court and remained close to her mother’s side. Unlike her brother, she wasn’t allowed the same freedoms to make friends as she chose. Her companions were chosen carefully for her, among those High Fae that owed either her father or her mother favors. The ladies that waited on her were Lesser Fae of lower houses, eager for a place in the High Lord’s household.

Lucien and Rinori were close, however, and shared everything with one another. She was the first to hear of Jesminda, the Lesser Fae that Lucien would eventually fall in love with. She was also the first to be ruthlessly questioned by their father and brothers about the woman. Beron disapproved of the relationship, believing that it was inappropriate for a High Fae noble to marry a Lesser Fae. In order to drive this point home, he ordered Jesminda executed in front of Lucien, while two of their elder brothers restrained him and forced him to watch.

After Jesminda’s execution, Lucien left the Autumn Court and fled to the Spring Court to Tamlin, the son of the High Lord of the Spring Court: a friend that he had made over the years. Through Eris, Rinori offered a warning to Tamlin when it came to Lucien in order to ensure his safety. This is the message that Eris claims to have passed on. They believed Lucien to be a strong contender for the High Lord’s crown. Three of them went to kill him and to prevent him from one day becoming High Lord. Lucien killed one, while Tamlin killed the second. The third escaped back to the Autumn Court to report what had happened.

Satisfied that her brother was safe, Rinori threw herself into her own studies. Though her father believed it to be beneath her, she began reading books and notes on herbology and healing: the Autumn Court had only a couple healers on hand, after all, and none of them were schooled in even the most basic of herbology. Trial and error allowed Rinori to create potions and poultices that would aid Fae that either fell sick or injured.

Even Beron could see the usefulness of having a healer on hand at all times, despite his misgivings.

Lucien, too, made a place for himself in the Spring Court as emissary. Often, he would visit their father for political matters and would linger just long enough to have words with his sister. Not that it was ever needed: twins were very rare among the Fae and the two of them were proof that twins could also be powerful. The art of speaking in each other’s minds was a simple matter, even when the distance between them was great.

Feelings and emotions and the like could also be felt down their bond. So Lucien’s eye being taken from him by Amarantha left Rinori in a delirious fever for days. When she finally came out of it, she learned her brother survived but was scarred and now had a metal eye given to him by a friend of his from the Dawn Court.

It wasn’t too long after this that Amarantha sentenced all High Fae and their courts to dwell Under the Mountain for forty-nine years until Tamlin found a human who hated Fae with all her heart but could still love him.

Appearance
Rinori is on the small side of things, with a curling mass of red hair and russet colored eyes, much like her brother and mother. Like Lucien, her skin is a golden-brown color that’s only a few shades darker than her half-brothers, though it’s still light enough to have passed for Beron’s daughter for centuries. She has a smattering of freckles across the bridge of her nose and a faint hint of color that always touches her cheeks. She is slim with a slightly round face and long, dark lashes.

Personality
Rinori is a sweet Fae woman that isn’t afraid of speaking her mind. She offers her loyalty to those that have earned it and delivers a sharp tongue lashing to those that deserve it. With her brother and those she is comfortable around, she’s slightly sarcastic and snarky: a trait that she developed with Lucien over the years. She has no love for Beron or her brothers, save for Eris, who had always done what he could to keep her out of trouble. She is fiercely protective of her loved ones and will do what she can to protect them.

Distinguishing Marks: Tattoo on his face to resemble the various scars his already has
Scars: Multiple- on his face (above his left eye, left cheek, across his forehead above his right eye, middle of his forehead between his eyes), his back (deep cuts, as if from a blade), his chest (above his heart, various slash marks), and his right arm (bicep, just below his shoulder)

Default Expression: Blank (aka Resting Bitch Face)
Describe Their Voice: Tobrin speaks in a low voice that's almost rasping or rough
Skin Tone: Lightly tanned/medium
Typical Clothing: Commoner clothing (when traveling), Battlemage Coat
Accessories: Seer's Band (a gift from the Rivani seer that helped train him; a simple ring of silver with small etchings around the band. He tends to wear it on his left ring finger); Amell Family Ring (given to him when the Templars came to take him from his family; wears it on a cord around his neck)
Backpack: Various containers of healing potions, lyrium-based mana potions, various herbs and trinkets that he's collected over the years, spare clothes
Extra: Tobrin is blind; however, his time training with Tarisai and Cione has made it hard to tell that he is such. He moves with the same ease and grace as other Dalish, extending his senses to feel out what's around him. He has also drawn on the power of the Fade to be able to 'see' things around him, though this often leads him to seeing things that others aren't aware of (such as spirits that have lingered or possible weak points in the Veil). Suppressing his magic, however, leaves him to rely on his other senses or those around him to guide him (and he hates when that happens).

Personality and Impressions

Personality: Tobrin is not one to suffer fools and he will be the first to let anyone know when they are doing something utterly foolish. He doesn't mince words and will be straight to the point. Often sarcastic and somewhat dry in his sense of humor. On the other side of things, he has learned a bit of diplomacy (when he needs to be) and can be utterly charming when it's called for. He's not the leader, by any means, and would prefer to let others call the shots. However, he is not above offering advice when it's called for. He's not a mentor or teacher, as he doesn't have the patience for it, but he is utterly loyal and dedicated to those that he comes to care for.

Tobrin also loves to learn new things. He is interested in any piece of history or lore, no matter how insignificant. This often leads to long- and sometimes, boring- retellings of anything that he comes across that he finds fascinating.
First Impressions: He tends to come off as rude, terse, and a bit angry at those that don't know him best. His answers to most questions tend to be short and to the point. It takes some time- and a great deal of patience- to get past this stage.
Over Time (and He Likes Someone): There are more smiles, though not many, and he is more than willing to share what he knows (it can still come off as angry, sometimes). He is better at choosing his words, to keep from offending.
Over Time (and He Dislikes Someone): He ignores them. Period. Or his answers revert to how they had been before, if much worse: he is curt and short. It will take a long time to regain his trust at this stage (or gain it, period, if it was never gained in the first place).
Positive Characteristics: Loyal, honest, protective of those he cares about, adaptable, confident
Negative Characteristics: Impatient with those that are slow or overly naïve, abrasive, stubborn (pig-headed)
Usual Mood: Grouchy (There is a reason he is referred to as the Old Grouch, ya know)
Drink: Ale, wine
Soft Spot/Vulnerability: His friends, his family, women and children, people that are in need of help
Opinion On Swearing: ...do you want tips? And in what language? (Common, Rivaini, Orlesian, Antivan?)
How He Passes Time: Exploring new areas, herb gathering (despite being blind, he's quite adept at potion and poison making), reading (when he can)
Hobbies: Meditation, listening to others telling their stories, reading (surprisingly!)
Biggest Secret: It wouldn't be much of a secret if it was shared, now would it?
What Animal Would They Be: Owl
Fears: Losing anyone close to him, loss of self
Drunk Type: Depends on his mood when he's drinking. Tends to be more the idiot/fool type, but has been shown to be the angry drunk as well
Done Anything To Get In Trouble With The Law: A few times (he is a mercenary...and an apostate)
Random: Tobrin speaks multiple languages, due to his travels: Common (learned from birth), Antivan/Rivaini (picked up bits and pieces in his travels; enough to converse and possibly curse), Orlesian (learned from a former member of his mercenary group), Qunlat (knows a few words from the Qunari but not enough to be passable in conversation), Dalish (picked up from a Dalish tribe he traveled with for a while)

History

Taliesin Amell is a name that, honestly, not a whole lot of people know. Well, at least not with the Amell connection. The name "Tobrin" (or "Taliesin", in some cases) has been passed around quite a bit, usually in connection with either the mercenary group known as Storm Heart.

There are differing accounts as to what he is: whether it's mage, rogue, or warrior. No one can really pin down his fighting style, either, as it tends to be a blend of whatever he picked up over the years. He's able to fight in both close-quarters as well as from a distance.

Of course, some accounts are absolute bullshit and he'll be the first to point it out.

Taliesin was born in the city-state of Kirkwall as the only son of a noble family from the city-state of Kirkwall in the Free Marches. There was some speculation- and rumors that followed- of his mother having an affair with an elven male that worked for the family. But this was speculation only, as no one could find any concrete proof. Shortly after his birth, his parents were officially married.

For the first five or six years of his life, Taliesin was- more or less- spoiled by his mother, who always viewed him as her baby boy. When he first displayed a propensity for magic, she did what she could to keep him hidden and hired a private tutor to help him master his magic. This arrangement didn't last too long, as word got out. The Templars heard everything, of course. Without hesitation, they took the child from his family: he can still recount his mother, stumbling in the streets and crying out for him. It’s an image that he could never ignore.

Because of his ties to the city of Kirkwall and because the Tower in Kirkwall was overwhelmed at the time, Taliesin was to be sent to Kinloch Hold, in Ferelden. However, the ship that he was supposed to take was ambushed by raiders. The children were all taken by the pirates and sold off to Tevinter Magisters looking for new blood. They traveled north, towards Rivain, where they were attacked – again – this time by Qunari forces. Taliesin attempted an escape, but the Magister in charge of him had left him weakened. A last ditch effort was made that left the boy blind and almost dead. Thankfully, he was found by a Dalish tribe and their Keeper, though his gratefulness for being rescued turned bitter.

It took the combined efforts of the Keeper- who had taken a sort of maternal role in nursing Taliesin- and a local Rivani seer by the name of Tarisai to pull him out of his depression and set him on another path. Tarisai herself took the youth under her wing and showed him different ways that he could 'see' without having to rely solely on his eyesight. It was through her that he met Cione, the captain of a local mercenary band that was looking to take in some fresh recruits.

Cione taught Taliesin how to fight in close-quarters, relying on the sounds of his opponents to judge how best to defend himself. With both magic and blades at his disposal, Taliesin became a quick learner and would soon join the group, leaving behind his friends and family for a time, while taking on the new name of “Tobrin”.

Cione's mercenary group operated between Rivain and Antiva, sometimes taking odd jobs in Orlais and the Free Marches as well. Through his jobs, he picked up other languages along the way, adding them to those that he knew from growing up. He made many friends through his jobs, acquaintances that he kept up with as time passed.

Scars: Various from exploring and getting into places where she likely shouldn’t have been in the first place
Body Type/Build: Lean and willowy with a very light muscular build
Default Expression: Slightly curious with a small hint of a smile

Backpack: Multiple containers of heal potions and lyrium-based mana potions – various herbs that she’s picked while traveling – trinkets that she’s collected over the years, including old, broken toys – spare clothes – books that she’s kept with her –

Personality and Impressions
Personality: Rin is still young and it shows in her behavior. She is a bright and cheerful young woman who can brighten a room just by entering. Though she is tough and puts on a front of not letting things get to her, she often does let out her frustrations to those that she trusts the most. She is often snarky and sarcastic, a trait that she’s picked up over the years from others: namely, those within the Circle that haven’t been wholly broken by the rules and Templars.

She has a fondness for children, especially those that she had been around in the Circle. She often volunteered to keep an eye on them when no one else could. She assisted in teaching them when no one else could. Rin has an infinite amount of patience when it comes to children, which is a huge plus. And that patience can extend to certain adults around her, though some have earned her ire over the years through their treatment of either herself or her charges. This can lead to her being a little short and snippy, especially if pushed too far.

Rin can be a people pleaser, though it’s often to the point of being detrimental to her own interests. Some would refer to it as a martyr complex and view it as a nuisance. She has put herself in danger to keep others safe, even when another way is presented. And she will almost always put her own happiness aside in order to make others happy.

Underneath it all, she is a very determined, thoughtful, intelligent young woman who has a habit of being stubborn and digging her heels in. She has a place in the world, but she isn’t completely sure of where that might be: in the Circle with the other mages and a prisoner? Or free to pursue her own interests, without the Templars breathing down her neck?

First Impressions: At first, Rin is very talkative and likes to fill the silence with her voice. Whether it’s talking or singing (something she enjoys very much), she finds the silence to be awkward and uncomfortable. She’s guarded with her answers and doesn’t provide too much, despite how much she talks.
Over Time (and She Likes Someone): The silences are more frequent but never uncomfortable. She feels more at ease with people and finds the silence to be comforting and enjoyable. She will still sing or even hum if asked, but she has learned when to talk and when to keep quiet. She’s more open with her answers and will tease a lot more
Over Time (and She Dislikes Someone): Withdrawn and tends to keep more to herself. She doesn’t talk and the silences can be uncomfortable and awkward. Answers to questions are met with short answers that are almost snippy in tone.
Positive Characteristics: Loyal, honest, protective of those she cares about, adaptable, cheerful, eager to learn
Negative Characteristics: Stubborn, a bit too naive about the world, timid (at times), martyr complex (sometimes: would sacrifice her own good for others)
Usual Mood: Cheerful
Drink: Water, tea
Soft Spot/Vulnerability: Her friends, children and animals, those that are in need of help
Opinion On Swearing: Rin picked up some colorful words over the years, both from the Circle and from those outside
How She Passes Time: Exploring new places – herb gathering – reading (when she can) – singing – cooking
Biggest Secret: It wouldn't be much of a secret if it was shared, now would it?
What Animal Would They Be: Griffon
Fears: Losing anyone close to her, loss of self
Drunk Type: Giggly/silly
Done Anything To Get In Trouble With The Law: Rin is an apostate, having “escaped” from the Circle during the Blight. She has been on the run since then, though she has evaded capture multiple times, namely by running to the Free Marches

History
Rin doesn’t really remember the early years of her childhood. After she was taken by the Templars, she was sent to the Circle of Magi in Ferelden. She barely remembers her parents, namely her father, who had the bulk responsibility of keeping the children all together. She was the last born child out of five. Her elder siblings were all taken in their own time, just as she was when it was discovered she had magic.

Rin was only six when she was taken into the Circle. The Templars that brought her were the kind sort, not the ones that most mages are taught to fear. They treated her as if she were a normal child, though they never left her alone for any length of time. Questions were answered in a friendly-enough manner: questions about her new life and what to expect when she reached the Circle. She had heard stories from a young age about how magic was evil and to be feared, but the Templars reassured her that she wasn’t a bad person. She just needed guidance, discipline: she needed to be taught how to use her magic without harming others.

If only all Templars were like that.

Life in the Circle was a new thing for her and though she was only slightly frightened by the newness of it all, she came to enjoy being around others. Slowly but surely, she found a place for herself in the Circle and discovered a real thirst for knowledge. It wasn’t just magic that she studied, but history and religion as well. Sometimes, they all intermingled in such a way that it was difficult to tell what was the truth and what was pure fantastical. Over the years, she devoured any books she came across and would often beg to be able to read some of the more advanced tomes, as well.

At the age of thirteen, a Templar who was known to abuse his charges started taking more notice of her. Though she herself did nothing to catch his attention, Rin noticed that she was being watched closely and – sometimes – even followed. Thankfully, she had also gained a few steadfast friends, namely two other apprentices named Jowan and Anders. The three of them would become inseparable, though there were times when Anders would vanish without a trace, only to be brought back to the Circle.

Rin’s Harrowing came on the eve of her 18th birthday, just shortly before the Battle of Ostagar. Afterwards, everything fell apart around her. Anders vanished and would remain missing for a while. Jowan – without the steady presence of their friend – made a desperate attempt to escape the Circle. He convinced another apprentice and an initiate of the priesthood to destroy his phylactery. While Jowan was able to escape by using blood magic, the other two were punished by being sent to Aeonar. Rin herself was saddened to hear the news, but there was nothing she could do.

When the mages returned from Ostagar, it was noted that they seemed…different. Out of sorts, as it were. This was explained away with the excuse that they had seen the fall of the King and the destruction of the King’s armies, but the truth was so much darker. Uldred turned to blood magic and the use of Abominations to destroy the Templars and free the mages of the Circle. With the help of the Warden, the Circle was brought back under control and Rin?

She found a way out in all the chaos.

But you have the charm of a sly Slytherin: a smile and a few well-spoken words are all that you need to get your way. But you have a thirst for knowledge, one that can’t be matched by the others. Your true calling is RAVENCLAW!

Personality: Riona is a young woman striving to prove herself. In the single year she attended Hogwarts, she showed herself as a hard worker dedicated to her studies. However, a falling out with one of her teachers caused her to leave the University after her first year.

She is a kind and compassionate woman who tends to see the good in others, even if they don’t see it themselves. She has the wit and charm of a Fae-born coupled with the natural charisma of her grandfather. She doesn’t like to be the center of attention, though she often draws it without even meaning to. In a room full of other people, she stands out like a beacon: a bright light that draws others in.

However, she’s stubborn to a fault and will dig her heels in if she feels she’s right on something. She doesn’t often stand up for herself as she never learned how, but she will stand up for others if she feels that they are being treated unfairly.

She wears the scars of her past with shame, blaming herself for not being able to fight back and protect herself. She has an aversion to touch (others touching her), but she’s fine with touching others. She’s been working on getting past the trauma, but little things continue to set her back and cause more trauma and pain.

History
Childhood: Riona lived with her mother for the first couple years of her life in a quiet little house settled at the edge of a lake in an unknown part of Ireland. However, when she was two, her mother was tortured and killed by a group of Death Eaters while protecting her daughter. Her father had vanished under mysterious circumstances and was thought to be dead as well. She was sent, then, to live with her Uncle Conor and his wife.

Her life with her uncle was not pretty: she was beaten and abused for small things and was often shoved into a hole in the floor that she called “the box”. Her mistreatment went unnoticed for years until she began her education. Her tutor reported everything back to the Ministry, and Riona was removed from the household to be placed into a group home. Her uncle and his wife died shortly after: he was killed over a gambling debt, and she drowned herself.

┗━━━━ Mute ━━━━┛
The Fox-Faced Songbird
True Name: River Hebert
Nickname/Given Name: Mute
Age: 21
Gender: Female
Species: Summoned human (Fallen/Human/Fae)

Appearance: A bit on the petite side, Mute (River) stands at just the five foot mark. Her hair is a curling mass of fiery red curls that cannot and will not be tamed. A mask covers her face: a fox mask that appears to be carved of bone. Sea green eyes – almost blue-green in color – sparkle underneath, though they have a tendency to glow green at random moments. Ears have taken on a more fox-like shape, matching the same fiery red as her hair. A long, bushy tail sits behind her, moving in accordance with her feelings and body language.

She wears dresses that are modest in appearance. Necklines at the collarbone and skirt lengths never shorter than below her knee. All her dresses are tailored for her, often in shades of dark blue or silver. She walks around in bare feet, as if this is a preference and not something she was likely forced into. What little of her skin that shows hints at medium-creamy tones with just a hint of pink and a heavy smattering of freckles.

And for those that are so adept at making deals, one can see the faint shape of a collar around her neck: delicate but binding. She is at the whims of another and has no say in her appearance.

Attitude: Before she was bound, River was a snarky woman with a stubbornness that was nearly outmatched. Kind and compassionate to those that were deserving of it and absolutely ruthless against those that crossed her or wronged those she had taken to claim as her own. She was a fierce fighter and would absolutely step in the line of fire if it meant keeping someone safe.

Her binding has completely erased what she was, giving her a new identity. Mute is quiet and unable to really speak in her own voice. Much of what she conveys is with signs or – for those she’s able to with – through thought speak, though it is limited. Some of her previous self shines through in those moments of defiance, when she’s able to stand up for herself without someone pulling at her chains, so to speak. But those moments are rare.

Surprisingly, she can express herself fairly well through music, whether it’s singing or playing. Her voice is sweet and often compelling to those that listen to her. Almost like a siren’s song. There is a brightness to her when she performs, as if she’s done this before (which she has). She also shines as a dancer, but only with the right partner guiding her and leading her along.

Powers: As Mute, she has limited access to her full range of powers. The most prevalent are, of course, telepathy and telekinesis. With telepathy, she is able to communicate more freely, though her deal prevents her from revealing certain things. Images and feelings can be shared this way, though it is also limited through her deal. With telekinesis, she is able to hover a few feet in the air and move around as if flying. She can also manipulate things by moving them. However, she is limited to things that weigh the same as her or less. In extreme circumstances, she can move things that are heavier, but it leaves her weak for a time.

Other Powers (Revealed as the roleplay progresses): Riona can manipulate the elements, though she has an affinity for fire and water above all others. In addition, she is capable of creating barriers and shields by tapping into an older brand of magic: more natural and primal than demonic or angelic.

Hobbies: Mute spends what free time she has in pursuit of music and dance. She enjoys listening to music and will often sing if she feels up to it. Mute also enjoys reading, though she has not had access to any books in a while.

River is much the same, though she actively enjoys cooking and baking as well

Likes: Music – dancing – singing – books – cooking/baking (Riona) – the warmth of a fire – the smell of leather and books – tea and coffee – baked treats (she’s fond of cookies) – tactile contact (small touches: with permission)

Dislikes: Overly loud noises – discordant music/sounds – cold, damp places – the smell of death and decay – sour/tasteless foods – being touched without permission –

Wishes: To be free Revenge?

Little History: No one is quite sure where Mute came from, exactly. Her appearance is a mystery, though it’s no mystery that she is bound to a demon in some sort of deal of their making. The truth of the matter, however, is a little more unbelievable and a lot more dangerous.

River was summoned to Hell and forced to give her name. In return, she was stripped of all but a few of her powers and memories and bound to Vox in a deal of his choosing. As Mute, she serves as his messenger, though few are even aware of her ties to him. Those that are adept with making deals can see the chains that bind her and possibly see who binds her.

Kairin Shepard
Commander Shepard
Nicknames;
"Shepard" - few people call him by his given name; they all refer to him by his family
name: he finds it both amusing and frustrating
“Kai” - his best friend always referred to him as Kai; it’s a name that he hasn’t
heard in a while.
“Guardian” - nickname given to him by the Tenth Street Reds, due to his tendency
to stick his neck out for the others

Description: Commander Shepard: it was a name that invoked a proud, imposing soldier. One that had earned their command through fire and flames, trial and error. Kairin seemed to fit that description. Standing at a full six feet and two inches, he was not a small man. Broad shouldered, he was built like a soldier, like a man that took to the front lines and didn't let anything hold him back. Dark hair was kept trimmed neatly, though there were times when it would become the short on the sides, long on top style that he favored most. Facial hair was also neatly trimmed, per military style. Dark brown eyes always held a sense of mischief and playfulness that seemed at odds with his imposing stance.

Kairin kept himself fit over the years and held an almost lean, muscular frame that grew from years of military service. Various scars covered his arms and chest: battle scars and reminders of what could go wrong. These were right along with the two injured fingers on his left hand: part of the pinky and the ring finger were both missing. Thankfully, this wasn't his dominant hand. Otherwise, there might be some issues.

Kairin can be seen in the casual dress of the Alliance military, often joking and teasing those that he considers his closest friends.

Piercings/Tattoos/Markings/Blemishes/Scars

  • Missing parts of two fingers (left hand: from an accident in his gang days)
  • Various scars across his chest and arms (military service)

Service Number: 5923-AC-2826
Class: Vanguard
]Personality
Diplomatic and charming, Kairin is the person that should be sent in to talk down any threat. Unfortunately, because he is military (and he looks it), most people view him as a meathead: someone that doesn't actually have a lot going on upstairs. Which is as far from the truth as anything. He is the one that seeks a diplomatic solution to all problems. Having grown up on the streets, he found it easy to charm and sweet-talk people. Of course, he wasn't a small child, either, and he could have been viewed as intimidating. Not that it mattered: he was nearly always able to find some middle-ground that worked for everyone.

Kairin is the kind of person to willingly put his life on the line, if it meant others would be saved. Idealistic for sure, but he grew up on the streets of Earth: he saw what happened to the small when they were bullied by the big. He can't tolerate bullies because of this and will often lash out at those that he views as mistreating others.

Above all, Kairin is playful and enjoys teasing those he trusts. He has a team of people that he trusts above all: people that have been there for him and people that know his history.

Biography
Kairin was born on Earth circa 2154. He doesn't know who his parents are: likely, they were part of the street gangs that he eventually joined as he grew older. As a child, he had one best friend that stuck beside him through everything: Taliesin "Tal". The two became friends after joining the Tenth Street Reds and being sent on various jobs together. As they grew up, they became something akin to brothers: they would squabble and argue, but at the end of the day, they would always have each other's backs.

At the age of fifteen, a job they were sent on went sideways as a rival gang tried to cut in on their territory. A firefight broke out, resulting in casualties on both sides. But that wasn't the worst of it: an explosion from stray gunfire striking a gas line almost ended Kairin's life. Thankfully, he was saved from the worst of it by Taliesin, though his friend ended up bearing the brunt of the injuries. From this, Kairin only lost a part of his pinky and ring fingers, but Taliesin lost his sight and earned scarring across his face that he would hide behind masks.

The two continued their work with the Tenth Street Reds, though neither of them had the heart for it anymore. At the age of eighteen, Kairin joined the Alliance military, if only to get away from the petty crimes and gangs that came with remaining on Earth.

Kairin made a name for himself in the military, especially on Akuze, where he lost his unit to a thresher maw. It showed him that no matter what kind of planning you have, shit can always hit the fan. He lost a lot of good men to that attack and he wouldn't forget any of them. As a reminder, he has their dog tags added along with his, though he doesn't wear them: instead, they are kept in his quarters and hung up wherever he might be stationed.

Extra
Interestingly, Kairin loves to read trashy romance novellas, though he tends to keep them hidden from the others. His favorite thus far is called Blasters and Barriers: it was written with the intention of there being a sequel. However, the writer has refused to continue, leaving him just a little disappointed.

Taliesin
The Blind Bastard
Nicknames;
"Ghost" - the nickname that Aria gave him, upon entering her
service; based on his ability to get in out of places without being spotted
“Tal” - his best friend always referred to him as Tal; it’s a name that he hasn’t
heard in a while.
“Blind Bastard” - what most people call him upon meeting him face-to-face
after he has already proven himself as a fighter

Description: Taliesin is a name that evokes medieval scenes: King Arthur and the Round Table, knights in shining armor, and a humble magician that set everything into motion. In reality, Tal is none of those things, save for humble. Standing at a mere 6 feet in height, he doesn't quite have the same imposing figure as his old friend, Shepard. Lean and lanky, his build is deceptively slim, giving no hint of the lean muscle underneath. Most of what he wears covers him from neck to feet, leaving just his head and face free.

Pale hair is kept on the longer side of things, just enough that he can pull it back into a messy ponytail when he needs it. Facial hair can be neatly trimmed, but he tends to keep a little growth, mainly because he just can’t be bothered with it. But it is his face- his eyes- that gains the most attention. Scars still hold a hint of what happened. An explosion or fire of some kind that robbed him of his sight. Cloudy eyes are almost always covered with either a strip of fabric or a specialized mask that allows him to see certain things.

30yrs | Male | He/Him | 6’0 | 180Lbs | Dark Blonde Hair | Blue-Grey Eyes (Blind)

Piercings/Tattoos/Markings/Blemishes/Scars

  • Prominent scarring on his face from an explosion that also caused him to lose his sight
  • One piercing in his left ear: a trinket from a woman on Earth who has since been murdered in the gang wars

Designation: Ghost
Class: Adept/Infiltrator Hybrid
Personality
Taliesin is every bit as charming and diplomatic as his friend, Kairin. The primary difference is that everyone expects it from Tal, given his size and temperment. Tal is the more calm and level-headed of the pair, though he's not without his tempers and anger. Tal doesn't raise his voice and doesn't let his anger get the best of him, however. He is wickedly clever when it comes to dealing with those that come up against him and his friends: not cruel in any way, but just clever in getting rid of them easily.

Tal doesn't speak much and prefers to let his actions speak for him. When he does, he tends to be brutally honest with a smidge of sarcasm and snark that he picked up over the years. Kai is usually the only one that can get a straight answer from him, though it is often laced with the same sarcasm and snark.

Taliesin is utterly loyal to those that he considers his friends. His loyalty, however, is difficult to earn. Those that have will point out that one needs to be patient and never judge him based on his looks. Both things go a long way to earn his loyalty. The first person to ever have his loyalty was Kai; second was Aria, who saw potential in what he could do, rather than what he couldn't do.

Biography
Taliesin was born on Earth circa 2155. Unlike most of the orphans on the streets, he knew who his parents were: his father had been a member of the Tenth Street Reds before his untimely death, while his mother had been a whore. Honestly, his father could have been anyone, but he was certain of the man that had been a little bit kinder to him than the others.

As a child, he had one close friend that stuck beside him through everything: Kairin "Kai'' Shepard. The two became friends after their initiation into the Tenth Street Reds and being sent on various jobs together. As they grew up, they became something akin to brothers: they would squabble and argue, sure, but at the end of the day, they would always have each other's backs.

At the age of fifteen, a job they were sent on went sideways as a rival gang tried to cut in on the Red's territory. A firefight broke out, resulting in casualties on both sides. It was a deadlock and they were both on the retreat when an explosion occurred: stray gunfire had struck an exposed gas line. Kairin was the only one in immediate danger. Acting quickly, Tal threw himself into his friend, knocking him out of the way. Kai only ended up losing a part of his pinky and ring fingers, but Tal himself ended up worse off: his face was burned and he lost his eyesight in the explosion. Though the scars healed- for the most part- they still remain and are sometimes hidden behind masks.

The two of them continued their work for the Tenth Street Reds, but their hearts weren't in it any longer. Tal was viewed as a liability and often kept behind for some of their more dangerous work. To keep himself occupied, Tal found himself other things to do. At the age of eighteen, when Kai joined the Alliance military, Tal left the gang and offered his services to others: a nimble hacker with the ability to get in and out of places without being detected.

Tal kept in contact with his friend and kept up to date on his exploits. He heard about Akuze and the thresher maw that took out Kai's unit. He heard everything about Eden Prime and the Prothean Artifact that he encountered.

And he heard all about his friend's death.
Extra
Taliesin enjoys classical music and often will sit in a quiet place in order to actually listen to it. He also enjoys old soap operas, about as much as Kai enjoys reading trashy romance novellas. Tal doesn't have a favorite series, yet, but he enjoys listening to them.

Biography

Early Life
Rayne Aria Leavy was born on January 24th in Shreveport to Jasmine “Jazzy” Melanson and Kian Leavy. In her early days, her parents were married for a short time. However, they split up shortly after her third birthday. Her father moved west to Dallas, Texas to set up shop there. Jazzy moved back to New Orleans and into her family’s estate. Her first – real – memories were of traveling back and forth between her parents, splitting her time and holidays with one parent or the other. Her favorite memories of these times were the summers where she traveled with her dad, sometimes along the east coast, sometimes along the west coast, but it was always some place new.

When she was around nine or ten, her dad was offered a position with Overwatch's Research and Development team. Here, he worked on developing new tech and weapons for the agents, while closely working with the likes of Torbjörn Lindholm. During this time, Rayne continued traveling between her mom and dad, spending the majority of her summers with him while remaining in the states during the school year. When she could, she pestered him about his work and even shadowed him, picking up things here and there.

An Unfortunate Accident
Kian had been working with Overwatch for around three years when an explosion rocked his research lab. No one could be found at fault – it was thought to be terrorists, though no one claimed responsibility – but his work was set back by it. On top of the devastation of losing his work was the near loss of Reyna herself. Though she came out alright in the end, she lost her left arm and left in the explosion. Prosthetics – designed by Kian and herself – replaced her lost limbs. And while it took her a while to get used to them – to not crush things in her hand when picking them up – she grew to like them, even more than her regular arm and leg.

The explosion shook both Jazzy and Kian. The pair decided that Reyna would no longer make the overseas trips to see her dad. Instead, he would take what time he could off to spend with her during the summer months. Of course, Reyna balked at this, but her parents stood firm. Still, it didn’t do anything to stop her curious mind. The time she spent with her dad was time she spent learning everything she could from him. At first, he had been hesitant – the explosion had shaken him to the core – but over time, he taught her what he knew. He even guided her through her first experiments. In time, she was able to mimic some of his work, though it never had the same finish that his always did.

The Fall of Overwatch
Kian left Overwatch shortly before it fell. Though he never gave any reasons for his sudden departure, it was thought that tensions had risen and was too much for the man. He returned to a quiet – for the most part, at least – life in the suburbs of Shreveport, falling into the routine of spending alternate holidays with his daughter.

When Overwatch fell, Rayne was gutted: she thought it would be around forever. That she would eventually be able to join their ranks. Still, she kept her head up and continued her work, developing and improving what her dad created. In the months – and a couple years, even – after Overwatch’s fall, Kain kept in contact with the few members that he had remained on good terms with: Angela Ziegler and Lena Oxton, Cole Cassidy and Shimada Genji. Through them, he was able to find out what happened and passed the information to Reyna.

It was no surprise, then, that they were visited by a gravely injured Cassidy, who had lost his arm in an accident. Working together, father and daughter created his new arm. Like Rayne, it took the gunslinger some time to get used to his arm. They gave him the best tips on caring for it, though he was always welcome to return for tune ups.

Lost
Rayne was only twenty when she lost both her parents: her father passed away first, in a freak accident that no one could explain. Though she couldn’t fully prove it, she thought it had something to do with his work with Overwatch. After his death, she moved everything back to New Orleans and her mom’s estate, spending the remainder of the older woman’s days setting up shop there.

A few months after Kian’s death, Jazzy passed on as well: her death was less suspicious. As a private person, Jazzy kept her own health concerns to herself, never letting anyone – outside of those closest to her – know that she had cancer. She had fought it over the years and thought she had beaten it, but it came back and took her quickly. Without her parents, Rayne was at a loss as to what she could do.

Her dad’s work pulled her out of her depression and she set out to improve on what he had created. She wanted to help others, even without Overwatch around. She took over her mom’s home and made part of it her workshop. The rest of the house was left to the few servants that remained behind to keep the house in order. A new security system was implemented, to keep her safe and to keep others from discovering her location.
