Yet Another Newbie

Yep, you heard right, there's another new girl in town. Well, new to the site, at least. I'm Yonaka Tsuki (obviously), but that's a bit long, so you can call me, well, pretty much any nickname you want, as long is it isn't too insulting. Honestly, though, I'd prefer Aka, or something along those lines. But I've gone by so many different names on so many different sites over the years that I'm not too picky about what I'm called.

Speaking of, as I implied earlier, I'm new to the site, but not at all new to RPing. I've been writing online for, oh, about 12 years now, so I daresay I know a thing or two. I stick to adult writing sites, less for the adult content and more for the more developed writing styles (although I won't lie- spicing the story up is always a plus...) And... I'm not really sure what else there is to say about me that's actually interesting. I guess I could say I like fantasy and anime and spend way too much time on my computer. Oh, and I'm a baker, have my degree and everything. That's about all there is to say about me. My most interesting trait is my writing, so I'm looking forward to meeting all of you and getting some stories going!

What's your favorite anime and what's your favorite thing to bake? Those are two things we both have in common (aside from writing), so I am here to solicit your friendship. <3

Yay! Favorite anime? Gosh you're tough- how can I limit it to one? There are two that I'm super into, Noragami and Akatsuki no Yona (or Yona of the Dawn, since some places only use the translated title). And since I've been asked before, no, I did not get my name from the title of the second one. I chose this name before I'd even heard of it. It's a coincidence- they just come from similar-sounding words in Japanese! But anyway, best I can tell neither series has a large fan base, unfortunately.

As far as baking goes, decorated sugar cookies are sort of my specialty. I've done a whole ton of that at work, so I daresay I'm pretty good at that by now, and I find decorating them really relaxing now!

I'll have to check out that anime. The best one I've seen so far has been Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, though Death Parade was also really good.
I'd love to see some of your decorated cookies sometime! I like experimenting with cupcakes. My favorites ones have been rosewater cupcakes with homemade buttercream, filled with homemade strawberry jam. :3

Never seen any of the FMAs myself. Then again, I don't have much time to watch anything, considering how much I write! But Noragami and Akatsuki no Yona are both pretty short. Like 24-25 episodes each, not counting OVAs. And they both have really great animation quality too! (I'm a bit of an animation snob, so they have to to keep my interest!)

Also, that sounds really tasty! These are a little older (from last year), but they're still pretty cute...

We binge watched FMAB over the course of a few months, on weekends. It was back before I got back into RPing and while I was just writing for work.

Oh my gosh! I love them! They're adorable. Baking is definitely always a fun subject! Made a birthday cake for my mom a little over a week ago. Apparently you can make really cute spiders out of oreos, pretzels, and m&ms.

I like it! Are those... Tootsie rolls for stems? That's what it looks like. I discovered once that if you knead them up tootsie rolls can be modeled, just like, say, chocolate. Especially useful with the flavored ones. You can make little pumpkins and whatnot like that pretty easily. I decorated a cake like that once. I don't think I have any pictures though...

I never considered using them in place of something like modeling chocolate, but that makes a lot of sense. I should try it sometime! :D

They're a little sticky, and the colors are kind of limited, but as long as you're fine with Halloween-type colors it works pretty well.

What got you into baking in the first place?

Well, I always sort of liked it. But most of my time in school I intended to become a teacher. High school math, specifically. Took all my AP classes, etc., got into college, got through the first semester... And decided my heart wasn't it it and it wasn't what I really wanted to do. Took a step back and realized that baking was what I actually loved, so I dropped out of my normal college, went to culinary school, got my degree, and I've been baking ever since. And I don't regret it at all! It was one of the best decisions I've ever made.
