ANNOUNCEMENT:

In the book, Alice quite suddenly switches from being in the train, to being sat under a tree speaking to the Gnat ... so, in THIS version, the train will simply come to a stop at a stand-alone train platform next to the entrance to the woods, with other paths leading off to the coast, which will act as the edge of the square, since there isn't a full chessboard, just one strip of 8 "squares."
