She grew up in a rather poor family and most of her stuff is either hand-me-downs or something she was gifted with. Has three other younger siblings, two brothers, and a little sister. Her family had just enough money to pay the bills and both of her parents worked multiple jobs to support their children. Due to their unfortunate circumstances, bullying was a common occurrence for the children. Athena often went into seclusion at home because of this. However, as she grew up with her twin brother, her brother was the one who protected her from the bullying and kept her mean classmates away from her. This led to her twin getting into a lot of trouble.
During a school field trip, she found her passion for oceanic conservation at an aquarium. Athena found that marine life was so fascinating that she wanted to become a marine biologist. She worked herself to death at school and earned various scholarships that would help her to achieve her dream. Now, she's getting ready to study abroad and start working toward her degree.
Side Information: Athena's extremely close to her twin brother and as she starts to transition from living in the States to an entirely new country, she finds herself lonely and lost without him. She's never truly been without her twin, only when he's been suspended from school. Close to her father and feels like her mother doesn't truly understand her.

He has black hair that goes to the nape of his neck and deep brown eyes. Kazuyuki typically doesn't do anything with his hair, even when it gets on his nerves. His typical outfit includes a button-down shirt and dress pants when he's working. He really likes to wear ties with different characters on them for the kids he works with. When he's home and not at work, Kazuyuki wears slacks and short-sleeved shirts.
Tattoos: A tiny dragon blue dragon tattoo on his inner right wrist and next to it are the kanji for the words "bravery" and "honor". He was branded on his left wrist but since had it covered up with a tattoo of a red, orange, and white koi fish.

Around 10, he was suddenly ripped away from his friend and forced back to Japan. His life quickly went downhill from there.
During his later teenage years, Kazuyuki started getting into a lot of trouble simply because he was being rebellious towards his parents for leaving his dearest friend behind. He practiced his swordsmanship while doing the dirty work for an infamous gang, using his hobby to his advantage. To show his loyalty to his fellow members, he was branded. He was getting into all kinds of different situations that could've killed him had he not been careful. With this, he was also getting heavily into drinking and smoking.
Kazuyuki was pushed into acting straight again. His parents had allowed him to experience what it was like to be locked up, which he found to be boring, and after several months, and threats by the government, he was let loose. The young man raised his grades, excelled, and straightened himself up after being berated and punished by his parents.
