Hello there.
This is an idea thread for a group rp I'd like to run. **I'm currently looking for players.** I have a few but most are on split on the worlds. RP examples would be preffered. I'd like to keep the maximum size down to about 5 including myself.
The basic premise is that the characters will be surviving a medieval fantasy world, either by themselves or with a group of NPCs that they shepherd around. The story direction will be player-driven, as the characters can affect the world and attempt actions a la tabletop RPGs. The results of these actions will be handled by yours truly as the "game master," using a combination of my brain, some random chance, and the particular character's aptitudes. I don't want to make stat numbers (well... yet).
Here are my few world ideas. Keep in mind I'm willing to adapt. Simple is the name of the game here and I don't want to switch gears to something with complex lore and history.
1. Goblin World - The PCs are dropped/awoken/teleported/isekai-ed into an uncivilized world. It's has everything one needs to survive, but is rife with roving goblins, and maybe worse. The goblins are strong in number but mostly dolts at the individual level. With some decent strategy, the PCs can settle the new world or quest across it. Inspiration: Zelda: Breath of The Wild, Minecraft.
2. Beyond the Ring - The PCs live in a village of humans, hidden from the world by magical barriers. Outside, the old realm is in desolation. Nearby forests are hostile and overgrown, and beyond, there are strange horrors that few have witnessed or survived. The PCs, cast out as part of ritual population-control, must discover the nature of their cursed world and somehow survive the wilds. Inspiration: Elden Ring, Goblin Slayer, Valheim.
If you like these or think they're all crap, go ahead and say so!
