Hi all,

I'm Matcha,

I've roleplayed on and off for about 10 years. I'm female and 28 years old, from Aussieland. Was introduced to this site recently!

Some facts about me:

  • I like gaming, my favourites at the moment are Boulders Gate 3, Sims 4, Dead by Daylight. All very different I know. Generally if I'm playing on my own I like games with lots of meaningful story choices that change the ending.
  • I'm always listening to music and my playlists collectively probably has thousands of songs from various different genres. Even if I don't particularly like a genre there's usually one or two songs I'll add to that thing. I don't think I'd get anything done or anything written ever without music. Send me your recommendations anytime
  • I am happy with most genre's, I tend to write slice of life a lot but I also like fantasy and horror.
-I like character development, and putting my characters through hard times in stories. I like building up relationships with other characters over time. I'm a big fan of flashbacks for my characters because it fleshes them out more and gives me things to reference.
-I'm bad at sleeping and get half my ideas in the middle of the damn night

huzzah for a great game selection! Flashbacks and character development are great! That is always one of my suggestions to people when they are caught up but already too full to start new stories. You'll find plenty of amazing writers here, and I'm sure you'll be writing with some amazing souls soon!

We also have a shared setting, The Outer Sanctum that is primarily fantasy based with some exceptions that you can look at as well.

If you come across any questions as you explore the site, there are always some friendly faces in chat that can help!

First and foremost; it's nice to meet you! Welcome to our home! If you haven't already, please make sure you read your welcome letter in the top right! It should be the little icon! That's where all of your future messages will end up!

Second! I bet you're wondering how to start Role Playing and where to go! I think it's pretty fun to explore the forums, and I highly recommend doing so! Most thread homes, if not all, have a pinned post at the top of them to tell you what goes there! However, the Request Threads are pretty self explanatory; Here's a Link! There's plenty to look through, but you could also build your very own! Tell people what you're all about and get those writing partners! Take your time though; there's never any pressure! If you were looking for an open story you can just jump in straight away, you can find them in Unfinished Tales!​
Next, I've created A Sanctum Tour to help find a lot of cool places on site! There's plenty to do while waiting on replies or to give yourself a break every now and then! But, these are some of my favorites! The first shout out goes to The Sanctum Tavern! Here you can find many a thing! By the Hearth can be found there and has many wonderful discussions; my personal favorite is where everyone talks up their writing partners! Want to see some cute pets or share your own?
