This is an extremely important announcement and all members should make certain to read it all the way through.
A major update has been made today to the site rules thread. This update includes both the site and chat rules.
To be clear, we have not made substantial policy changes—this update is instead designed to serve three purposes:
1. To clarify some long-standing policies and put them explicitly into the site rules
2. To make certain the rules are updated to account for add-ons and other changes made since they were originally written
3. To generally streamline the rules, removing redundancy and ambiguity where needed
Further, an add-on has been installed with the intent to require all new members to agree to site rules before using the forums. Unfortunately, this add-on cannot distinguish users based on their time here and so will instead require everyone to go through the agreement process. This means that not long after this announcement goes live, all users will be prompted to read and agree to the site rules. This should be a one time process and once you have agreed, the site will remember that for the future.
