PersephoneProfile.gif
Pseudonyms: Kore, Proserpina, Seph - But only Hades gets to use that.
Epithets and titles: Dread Queen of the Underworld, Goddess of Spring.
Family: Zeus (father); Demeter (mother); Hades (Husband); Tisiphone, Megaera, and Alecto (Daughters aka Erinyes - The Three Furies)
Race: 5th generation goddess
Age: Immortal
Powers:
  • Spring and Nature: Heiress to her mother's nature powers, Persephone is also closely associated with Spring time. During the Autumn and Winter months she is with her husband Hades and sits with him as the Dread Queen of the Underworld. During this time it it forbidden that humans even speak her name. She controls the dead along with her husband but while he can be cranky, she is often seen as the merciful one.

History:
Zeus it is said, permitted Hades, who was in love with the beautiful Persephone, to abduct her since her mother Demeter was not likely to allow her daughter to go down to see him. Persephone was gathering flowers with the Oceanids along with Artemis and Pallas as the Homeric Hymn says, in a field when Hades came to abduct her, bursting through a cleft in the earth. Demeter, when she found her daughter had disappeared, searched for her all over the earth with Hecate's torches. In her despair, she neglected the earth so that nothing would grow. Helios, the sun, who sees everything, eventually told Demeter what had happened and at last she knew where her daughter was. At this point Zeus, pressed by the cries of the hungry people and by the other deities who also heard their anguish, formulated a plan to return Persephone to her mother. Hermes was sent down to steal her from Hades but it was discovered that Persephone had eaten six pomegranate seeds. Because of this, she was only allowed 6 months out of the year to be with her mother, the other 6 months were with her husband Hades. Every year the cycle repeats of nature flourishing while Persephone is with her mother. And nature becoming barren while with her husband.

Persephone is often depicted as unwilling to go down to Hades' realm and didn't want to be caught by him in the first place, and yet she always returns and never tries to look for a way to escape or negate her marriage. It is also curious that plant roots reach deeper into Hades' realm while she is away, almost as if it's her reaching out to him.

Appearance: Like her mother, she is often depicted carrying a torch or sheaf of grain. Persephone's hair is dark and she is very striking in appearance. Her eyes are as brown as the earth, turning green when she uses her powers of nature. She often wears flowing robes, peasant tops, but sometimes dolls herself up with punk vibes. Perhaps alluding to a rebellious nature.

  • Epithets and titles: God of War; Battle Lust; Blood Lust; Destroyer of Men; Father of Tears; Gold Broker of Corpses.
  • Family: Zeus (father); Hera (mother); Aphrodite (consort); Children (many); Hephaestus (brother).
  • Race: God; Fourth Generation.
  • Age: Immortal
  • Powers:
Immortality: Surviving on Ambrosia made from war and blood spilt men in times of war, Ares, is at his peak, to maintain this abundance of power he needs to create chaos in the mortals, and when desperate, immortals.

Superhuman abilities: Advanced Superhuman Stamina and strength, of course a God of War needs to be able to win a fight, of course Ares has limitations he's not the world's most powerful God by far but he gets by.

War manipulation: Not all mortals and immortals want to fight, Ares has the ability to inflict emotion and manipulate mortals and perhaps some immortals, giving emotions and actions of rage, hatred, blood lust, fear, and lust for war. This helps when he calls his army to the battle field and when he sees the opportunity to deal in combat.

History: Ares, Greek God of War and Battle Lust. Son to Zeus and Hera, unlike the Greek Goddess Athena of Wisdom and Strategic Warfare; Ares is the chaotic side of battle, the death, gore, blood and battle lust. He thought less about how to win and more on overwhelming the enemy with huge armies and plenty of weapons.
Born in Thrace, the people he grew up around were like-minded, and he found affiliation with the Amazonian women and the men of Ares, these men lived and died for Ares in the name of war.

Though he is not spoken about in history as much most of his stories revolved around his affair with Aphrodite, the wife of Hephaestus the ugliest God imaginable according to Zeus.

Their affair was not a secret to the Gods, it was put on display when Ares and Aphrodite were caught laying together in bed.
Though his confidence and ego caused some clashing, he was well respected and feared by most and as the earth grew, and the wars weren't quite what they use to be he spent his time stirring trouble between the mortals to keep his Ambrosia steady.
Catching word of the disrespect towards the temples of the Gods, this gave Ares the perfect opportunity to strike up a cry for battle, when summoned instead of the old Armor suit made for battle, he showed in a suit and bronze tie.

  • Appearance: Nowadays the suit of Armor hung in waiting for battle, he took up a more modern look, suit, bronze tie. Sporting short sides and long top as if recreating the feathers on top of his old helm.

  • Magical Objects:
(Not quite magical, but a pet) Vulture.
Chariot (With four fire breathing horses)

(Finally got around to posting him! Lemme know if I need to add anything

Pseudonyms: Vulcan, Hephaistos

Epithets and titles: The lame one; coppersmith; renowned artificer

Family: Zeus (father), Hera (mother), Aphrodite (wife), Aries (sibling), Athena (sibling), Apollo (sibling)

Race: God-4th Generation

Age: Immortal

Powers:
- Fire manipulation - As the god of fire, it is no surprise that Hephaestus' ability to control the scorching element to do what he commands.
- Immortality - Thanks in part to Athena, the need for developing the next great work of technology has rapidly popular. The idea of earning money, acknowledgement and respect by creating the next essential item helps ensure Hephaestus' is never bored.
- Superhuman attributes - Some believe that the god of fire and technology could be the strongest out of all the gods due to his forging skills. A god at his stature is not the quickest, but he is still faster than most mortals.

History: Hephaestus was the god of fire, metalworking, stone masonry, forges and the art of sculpture. He was the son of Zeus and Hera and married to Aphrodite by Zeus to prevent a war of the gods fighting for her hand. He was a smithing god, making all of the weapons for Olympus and acting as a blacksmith for the gods. He is similar to Athena in his giving skill and help to mortals – in his case artists. It was believed that Hephaestus taught men the arts alongside Athena. However, he was also considered far inferior to that of the goddess of wisdom.

As the son of Zeus, the king of the gods, and Hera, the queen of the gods, Hephaestus should have been quite handsome, but, baby Hephaestus was small and ugly with a red, bawling face. Hera was so horrified that she hurled the tiny baby off the top of Mount Olympus. Hephaestus fell down for a day and landing in the sea. Thetis, found him and took him to her underwater grotto, and raised him as her own son.

One day, Thetis left her underwater grotto to attend a dinner party on Mount Olympus wearing a beautiful necklace of silver and sapphires, which Hephaestus had made for her. Hera admired the necklace and asked her where she could get one. Thetis became flustered causing Hera to become suspicious and, at last, the queen god discovered the truth: the baby she had once rejected had grown into a talented blacksmith.

Hera was furious and demanded Hephaestus return home, a demand that he refused. However he did send Hera a beautifully constructed chair made of silver and gold, inlaid with mother-of-pearl. Hera was delighted with this gift but, as soon as she sat in it her weight triggered hidden springs and metal bands sprung forth to hold her fast. The more she shrieked and struggled the more firmly the mechanical throne gripped her; the chair was a cleverly designed trap.
For three days Hera sat fuming, still trapped in Hephaestus's chair, she could not sleep, she could not stretch, she could not eat. Zeus pleaded with Hephaestus to dislodge Hera, but he steadfastly refused. Dionysus finally brought him back, by getting Hephaestus drunk, and carrying him to Olympus on a donkey. Then on the condition Aphrodite would be given to Hephaestus as his wife, Hera was freed.

He is similar to Athena in his giving skill and help to mortals – in his case artists. It was believed that Hephaestus taught men the arts alongside Athena. However, he was also considered far inferior to that of the goddess of wisdom.

Appearance: Hephaestus was depicted as an unattractive man with an unkempt beard, deformed foot, and holding a crafting tool.

Magical Objects:
  • Anvil and Hammer - Hephaestus was the creator of some of the most stunning pieces of military equipment ever seen. Hephaestus' work as the foremost blacksmith explains his symbol: the anvil, the hammer and the pincers. No one but him was able to build the beautiful, indestructible bronze mansions where all the other Olympians lived. Crafty and cunning, he added a distinctive element here and there which he was able to add thanks to his gifted tools.
  • Automatica, the golden assistants - In the "Iliad," Homer tells us something even more fascinating. Namely, that Hephaestus had fashioned for himself handmaidens of gold, who were able to understand him, speak to him and assist him.
