Ah, I see. Then on that note would the Theocracy even know of the existence of his Organ prior to the destruction of Kerazuz? About it's powers and potential, not just it's mere existence. If not then it's entirely likely they haven't given a rank to it because they have no idea what it actually does (before finding Artham) and thus couldn't of had any expectations for it. Unless they somehow knew the Titan that destroyed his Kingdom possessed the Organ within it
The Theocracy's Ranking system for Organs applies semi-retroactively as well. In other words, estimating how much use the Organ could have been put to if it were part of their collection, as a rough means of judging how exceptional an OB is relative to the base-judgement of the worth of the Organ they consumed.

I would say that anything that allows a human to produce a supernatural substance that does not exist in nature, e.g. Artham's ink, would be a shoe-in for Grade II on average. Especially since they don't have a system for alchemitizing such materials yet, it's mostly about the theoretical power of such materials as exotic resources they would gain exclusive access to if the OB joined forces with them. The fact that Artham is able to bring paintings to life through the ink is almost more enticing, as it suggests to the Theocracy that there might be other applications to his ink in a purely substance-level sense, much like the Saint of Ruin whose blood can heal and empower.

n that sense, given Freyja is basically Wolverine crossed with Witchblade, she would probably be Grade III. Despite her defensive and offensive capabilites meaning that given time and mastery she could become one of the most dangerous martial combatants in the world, that her powers are so overgeared towards combat might limit her potential in the eyes of the Theocracy. If the fingerbone was in their clutches they would just give it to some zealous goon and tell him to go here or there and kill a certain target.

Also the fingerbone she ate may have come from a sort of death-god who collects the bones of the dead and assimilates them into himself, providing a source for all the divine bone she can manifest. Theoretically, his core would be his skull.

Jophiel on the other hand would be a Grade II given he's a walking cognitohazard with the potential for controlling the masses. And, potentially, foreign leaders if Joph had any interest in diplomacy (thankfully he doesn't). He's held back from being Grade 1 by the fact his powers can be thwarted by keeping your eyes closed (or being blind).

Although in theory there should be many of the feathers that Jophiel got his powers floating about, the (fortunate) scarcity of more OBs like him would suggest that due to their fragility the feathers don't survive long or become damaged and loose their potency. Jophiel was extremely lucky that one literally just floated down into his hands.

Given they came from a beauty goddess, presumably her 'core' would be her face?
That also serves as a helpful contrast to Freyja, who I definitely agree works as the Bearer of a Grade III Organ. Manipulating bone is by no means useless in combat, but doesn't shake the foundations or reality in the same way as Arthams Ink or continually alter the minds of those who perceive them, as Jophiel's does. While the 'face' of the beauty Goddess might be a more plausible Core, a God whose very appearance is more significant than their internal bits-and-bobs would have more weight to a feather, which can be seen as part of a visible limb, compard to a bone or spleen, which might be inconsequential as a shard of their beauty.

And, of course, things aren't set in stone. If the Theocracy discovers an unforeseen application for Artham's ink, they may bump the Organ up to Rank I retroactively.

Also regarding Balor, I imagine the Theocracy would only regard his heat-beam eye as Class IV. It's a very potent ranged weapon, but aside from the boiling blood it lacks much else in terms of offensive or defensive utility. His size and strength come from being mutated by the Saint's blood (or however else he came to be superhumanly tall and strong). It's that combined with his Organ that makes him so scary to fight.

I've come up with a rough sketch of the ranks of each player-controlled OB, as well as the handful of GMPC OBs who have entered the canon thusfar. Please note that these are just my impressions, and if you have a reason to suggest they might be off, I am willing to adjust them if the reasoning is sound. Again, this isn't a matter of judging power-scaling or saying who is stronger or better than anyone else. Just a priority that the Theocracy would place on everyone.

@dispatch99 - Jasper of Claybrook (Divine Larynx - Rank III Mediocris)
@OrganicIntelligence - Freyja Gunnardottir (Adamant Phalange - Rank III Medicris)
@OrganicIntelligence - Prince Jophiel Dinaz (Cherubim's Down - Rank II Superior)
@Vasara Glyndark - Eivor Styrbjornsdottir/"Drasa the Fierce" (Regenerative Heart - Rank III Mediocris)
@Miss December - Saint of Ruin (Sacral Marrow - Rank I Eximia)
@Rimechapel - Lanneth Gunnebald (Sacred Solanum - Rank III Mediocris)
@Weis - Artham Midren (Abyssal Ink Sac - Rank II Superior)

Non-Player OBs

Archon - Unranked
God-Seer (Ableptic Omniscion - Rank I Eximia)
Balor (Thermoculus - Rank IV Inferior)

(The God-Seer is the living reliquary within the Theocracy, who can sense the locations of all unconsumed God-Organs extant in the world at all times, like a long-distance radar)

I am perfectly willing to make appropriate adjustments to these speculative rankings based on input and suggestions.

Hah! I knew it was an invitation to paint a bullseye on our characters! And in the case of Art, that's a bullseye the world will not soon forget.

"All shall love me and despair!!"
Stronger than the foundations of the flowerbed.

All in favour of Art only being able to speak in painting puns?

🤚

Hey now, don't give me ideas! Painting puns... dear gods, the possibilities are endless

Tbh, the entire time I read Art's backstory, I kept waiting for someone to commit a crime and say Art did it... so that you could say Art was framed.

If Lydia hadn't accepted the ruined Kingdom concept, I did have a backup plan where he was falsely accused of desecrating ancient art from his Kingdom (which in this instance would have never been destroyed, etc etc)—which in Kerazuz is a crime punishable by death, not even kidding. These people took their art very, very seriously. So Art being framed was an actual idea I was considering hahaha.

Imagine some art from Kerazuz survived but it comes into Freyja's possession and by the time Art runs into her she's burning them for heat.

"What, they're just pretty pictures?"

I can imagine he wouldn't be able to contain the rage inside him for long if he saw her do that lol. Now that his Kingdom is gone and his people dead, anything from Kerazuz will mean more to him than his own life. Doing that would be the same as tossing the ashes of a loved one to the ground and spitting on it. Probably in Freyja's best interest to avoid doing that :P

Okay, I think we're getting closer to the launch-party. I will start off by creating an OOC thread and a placeholder thread for the actual group RP, which I will then fill out as necessary. Once the OOC thread is live, I will link it here, and then request that any further discussions with the current players be moved there, so that it's easier to tell if someone who hasn't already joined, responds to the RT in hopes of joining in.

Catching up on things today & tomorrow, but I'll probably be a bit slow as I'm coming back from vacation, from starting with new team, and other things. The concept is still something I find interesting. I just haven't been able to keep up on everything that has been discussed.

The world has def become much more dynamic. I'll need to take some time to think of a character concept, unless people have any challenges for a character they'd wanna throw at me.

Not sure if this is what you meant, but I do have a Saint NPC who I don't feel too possessive of, if you want to hear their deal.
