📎 INTERNAL HR ANNOUNCEMENT — OPEN CALL
FROM: HR@std.inc
TO: ALL AFFILIATES, CONTRACTORS, & LOITERERS
DATE: [REDACTED]
RE: RECRUITMENT INITIATIVE — FIELD OPERATIVES
──────────────────────────────────────────────

📢 HELP WANTED. SUPERPOWERED INDIVIDUALS ENCOURAGED TO INQUIRE.
(Cape optional. Attitude adjustment mandatory.)

Save The Day, Inc. is seeking 2–3 additional powered personnel to join our active operations roster. Whether you're a washed-up prototype, a freelance liability, or just tired of being ghosted by corporate overlords—we might be the last company desperate enough to hire you.

---

### 🗂️ YOUR OPTIONS:

1. Adopt an Existing Operative
Take on the identity of one of our current assets—Solara or Slipstream.
They're already on payroll (barely), come with pre-approved paperwork, and just need someone with a spine to pilot the meat.

2. Submit a Custom Profile
Create a new powered individual, subject to approval.
⚠️ All powered individuals must be created through artificial means.
We do not accept aliens, mutants, godlings, time-displaced chosen ones, or "it just happened one day" types. This is science, not fantasy.

---

### 🔍 CRITICAL INFO:

⚠️ Not all submissions will be accepted.
We are a tone-sensitive operation. If you can't play in the sandbox without pissing in it, we'll brick you behind the narrative wall.

✅ We love:
• Burnouts who still try
• Powers with a cost
• Corporate sabotage survivors
• Characters with regret, resentment, and quarterly performance anxiety

❌ We don't love:
• Hero gods
• Unkillable edge lords
• Comedy mascots
• Unlicensed sparkleblasters

---

### 📋 THE FINE PRINT:

• Powers must have a defined origin (biotech, chemical, cybernetic, energy, etc.)
• Maintenance requirements (recharge time, injections, server access, etc.) must be included
• Complications are required. We all come with baggage—yours just has to be narratively useful.

---

If you've got what it takes to Save The Day (and maybe invoice for it), send your completed Hero Application Form to hr@std.inc, or just slide it under the door. Please do not bribe the janitor again.

Let's disappoint the world—together.

Thanks for your interest. I'm glad that you saw something that struck your eye and deemed it worth looking into further. To answer your first concern, yes there is still plenty of room for you because this is a brand new game with no other players yet. It's just myself and my words so far. I've had the idea for this for many years but never took the initiative to put pen to paper so to speak. I've played in superhero games in the past and tried to play up these themes, but not every game or GM wants to focus on the same elements. I'm still not sure if I should call it a game or a writing exercise or a whatever, but know that I'm glad you are interested.

I think I'll have all questions and character creation steps take place as responses here in the advertisement forum. Both Needed - Save The Day, Inc - Onboarding At least until you're officially onboard and ready to contribute that character (and any lore that fits their history) to the OOC page which is here: https://writerssanctum.com/threads/save-the-day-inc.43812/ So the first link is for potential players, the second link is for players who have an approved character and are ready to get started. That's where we'll put any lore or world building that everyone would benefit from. And when game play starts which I'm hoping is soon (I'm ready now but need to get some…you know…players) that'll be at the second link as well. Does that make sense?

For your second question, I'll point out that Solara is essentially a Supergirl analogue and we all know how overpowered Supergirl is. The key is in tweaking the characters to make their weaknesses an everyday obstacle. Think about how much destruction her powers cause, the potential isolation such strength could invite, etc. Solara is available for adoption if you're interested, and she could be edited for gender and what not.

My original thought was to have copies for Supergirl, Mysterio (the movie version), a speedster like Quick Silver, and I was sure that at least one player would want to bring their own character to the table. I'll be playing Vantagio (that's our Mysterio) and aside from technology has no access to powers. Some Powers that wouldn't fit very well in my vision of things would be shapeshifting, magic, time travel, matter creation, necromancy.

So, as I'm reading it, I put my character HERE for review and potential approval?

BASIC INFORMATION

Hero Name: Gunsmoke

Real Name: Alan Cooper

Age (if known): 30

Gender/Pronouns: Male he/him

Nationality or Corporate Origin: American

Public Persona Summary:
An everyman that fights for the little guy. Strong and always gets back up, no matter how much you throw at him. Brash, decisive, sly.

Field Role: He'd BEG for a PR position. On the field, he'd be good at recon or support. He was a sniper and knows his way around firearms.

POWER ORIGIN PROFILE

Primary Power Source:
(Select one)

• Bio-Engineered [X]

• Chem-Enhanced

• Cyber-Augmented

• Energy-Infused

• Corporate Property

Brief Description of Origin: Yet another super soldier program with the US marines. His body produces, and can take in, a lot more adrenaline than a normal person. There seems to be no upper limit- Not one that he's reached anyways.

Power Set Summary:

Adrenaline that stacks infinitely. This means that as stress levels rise, so does his power. Strength, speed, and mental clarity. Essentially, the more you throw at him (or the more chemicals he slams into his body), the more capable he gets.

Power Maintenance Model: (Select one)

• Ongoing Treatment (injections, meds, etc.) [X]

• Charge Cycle (sunlight, batteries, other input)

• Uplink Access (requires network or AI sync)

• Burnout Cooldowns (requires rest periods)

• Sponsorship Funding (power is paywalled)

DRAWBACKS & COMPLICATIONS

(Select at least one)

• Unlicensed Enhancement [X]

• Body Deterioration [X]

• Corporate Ownership

• Malfunction Risk

• Media Stigma [X]

• Upgrade Dependency

Describe your Complication(s):

His body is still technically property of the Marine Corps. His dependancy on time and stress to activate his abilities to any useful degree causes him to seem useless sometimes, unless he has something to jumpstart himself, leading to a perceived drug problem. There is ALSO a chance that once he reaches his limit, his organs will give out.

EMPLOYMENT HISTORY

Previous Affiliations:
He was the leader of a team called "The Irregulars." They were a group of rising stars, all with some enhancement or another. All but one other are assumed dead.

Notable Incidents or PR Events: Was the face of a series of anti-drug PSAs, lukewarm acting career, and busted a human trafficking ring five years ago (his PROUDEST moment).

Due to his military history and the decision to use guns, he's demonised by certain groups for "Use of excessive force." Ironically, this led to him getting a very strong cult following by the right side of the political spectrum.

More on the EXTREMELY controversial side, he was touted by the media as a drug addict. This is TECHNICALLY true. On the field, he tends to take a few epi-pens to get himself a little jumpstart. This led to him jumping at the opportunity to work with the aforementioned anti-drug PSA series (which in itself was a pseudo-revival of the DARE program. Some ads with him in it still air today!)

Even FURTHER than that, there are allegations that his team was funded, in part, by multiple crime families and that the trafficking ring bust was more of a hit against a rival family, and that it was the only PUBLIC hit. The crackpot conspiracy theories say that The Irregulars were used a weapon quite often.

Though he denies it, it's all true. The rest of the team was killed in a setup. They were betrayed and left for dead by a fellow team member who chose a family to side with. He had to crawl out of a burning building with broken legs, but he pulled through, like he always did.

NARRATIVE HOOKS

What motivates you to stay with Save The Day, Inc.? "To help people, of course! And a little interview and some cash every now and then doesn't hurt."

What would ruin you if it went public? "Don't tell anyone, but I owe some really bad people a whole lot of money and favors. I'm also VERY gay which, if you know most of my fans, wouldn't go over all too well."

How do you feel about your powers when no one is watching? "They're not good enough."

Who do you secretly resent on the team, and why?
"Whoever's in charge of this thing. I used to be oh-so close to the top. Now I'm here, not even calling the shots."

Very interested in this. Brain has been on superheroes for some time, this could be just the thing to get me back into writing…

Quick question: sorry if you have this written down somewhere, but what exactly is meant by the field role of "Tech Disruption"? I think I got a disabled, drug-fueled hacker character who could fill this niche perfectly, but I'd like to know more before committing and crafting. 😁

If not, I have a toxic person (literally and figuratively) who could work too, but I'd prefer to play a clearer tech niche.

The field roles are just suggestions. I see Tech Disruption as someone who makes the other guys' equipment fail or compromised, while ideally being able to give our own guys a technological advantage. Added bonus if they actually help maintain our equipment between missions. I hope this game can play a part in getting you back into writing. I've always got superheroes on the mind so was chomping at the bit to start something but didn't want to do it on my first day here on the site.

Alright! I'm going to be watching a play soon so I'll have my response out later tonight.

I do have to ask a few questions though

1) Are they all expected to be at the office building during work hours or is it more like they're on-call at home?

2) How long have our characters been working with them? Is that all up to us?

On call at home. Often hang about the 'office' because it also serves as their base (such as it is)

I leave it up to you whether you're characters are just joining up or been an established addition. I'll play off whatever you do.
