The Awakening (GreyQueen & Darklaz)

Matthew looked up with a half smile.
"Star face, all is well. We were just discussing that I trust him to protect an keep you safe.
I do not really understand the relationship the two of you have, but I know he cares deeply for you.
Listen to any warnings Acheron may have, he is very intelligent."

Sara's face turned bright red and she shifted a bit awkwardly, "I will. I trust him too." She stood fumbling with the words in her head for a while before her mother showed mercy on her and spoke up.

"Well, now, dear, I believe you have the coffee ready?" Grace raised a below with a smile tugging at her lips. After such a shaken mess she had been before, caused her daughter to blush even harder as apparently even she had an opinion on the matter. "Sara, dear, come sit down. Acheron, I insist you rest as well."

As time went on and the later the night passed by, the more exhausted the red-haired woman became. By the end of another childhood story Grace stubbornly shared despite protest, Sara was nodding off as sat beside her stone guardian. It took every bit of will power not to let her head jerk forward and slam onto the kitchen table.

Acheron noticed the state of Sara's exhaustion and tuned to her parents.
"I believe I shall carry her to her room. Sara is tired and needs rest.
As for myself, Lady Grace, I do not need rest other than my day time stone state.
I do thank you for the consideration, though. If you will excuse us."

With that, he easily lifted Sara into what almost resembled a bridal carry and ascended the stairs to the bedrooms.

Sara made little protest as she was scooped up like a child cradled in the arms of her guardian. She snuggled closer to Acheron's body while allowing the sensation of safety to sweep over her. Just as he started to place her on her bed, the journalist stopped him, "No… I want to stay in your arms tonight."

Admittedly, she feared what might creep into her dreams this night. After everything… She feared the faces of those stone warriors being there, trying to force her to bring them to life. At least if she stayed in his arms and had a nightmare, she would wake to see him and know she was safe.

"I am always here. I can feel the sunrise, but this tie the sensation is...different.
I can perch at your bedside if you need me. Never fear, my Sara, you are safe and protected."

With that, he laid her gently in her bed an brought the covers up to her chin.
"Never fear being alone anymore, I am always at hand."
With that, he placed a kiss to her forehead before taking position between the bed and the window, able to watch both.
