Wip cause I'm posting from my phone atm but basically I wanna do just a normal slice of life group role play about a group of young adults in NYC. I have my characters done and the basic gist of the is they're a homosexual male and pan agender pair of filmmaker best friends/zucchinis (they're in a qpr) going to NYU. Let me know if you're interested, I promise to come back later and make this thread pretty.

Even as children, him and Charlie had loved watching movies together, which quickly grew into a love for making them. Growing up in a wealthy, Upper East Sider family, the young pair of friends were given a film camera to start making their own mini-movies when they were in 2nd grade by his parents, who loved sweet, poor, little Charlotte. They started a film club in middle school and applied to the Frank Sinatra School of the Arts high school together in the 8th grade. Lenny's parents, under the belief that the pair would one day get married despite their consistent denial of being anything more than friends, paid for Charlie's tuition to the prestigious school, as well as Lenny's. His father promptly kicked Francis out of the house and cut him off financially; it was a month later when an officer showed up at their penthouse to break the news. Francis had jumped off the Brooklyn Bridge and died. When Lenny heard his father mutter, "Good riddance..." once the door was closed, he knew his father could never find out he was gay as well. he broke up with Henri the next morning and hasn't truly dated since, besides a few meaningless women here and there to keep up appearances. Lenny's parents also pay for most of their college tuition and most of their rent, further adding to his unwillingness to come out of the closet. Personality: Malcome is a loving chatter box. He loves meeting new people and having new experiences, but he always has his guard up as he isn't easily trusting. History: Malcome's mother an immigrant from Brazil, and his father a native to southern Louisiana met in college. A few years after graduating they had Malcome and lived in New Mexico for a few years. Malcome remembers moving around a lot as a kid. First New Mexico, then Florida, and then back to his fathers home state. Since he was little Malcome loved plays, and movies and dramas. At school he tried out for all the plays and always wanted to read a loud in class.
His mother was always supportive of everything he did as she to had dreams of being a performer, though she preferred dancing. His father on the other hand, constantly scolded Malcome for choosing feminine hobbies, but His mothers encouragement was always enough for him to continue to pursue what he wanted. Around the age of 12 Malcome knew he was different. He never felt the giddy feeling his male friends felt when they were around girls they liked. He never felt the urge to kiss on or hold a girls hand, and at first he just assumed his hormones hadn't kicked in. Until the middle school dance. There, he kissed Jesiah Musatch, one of the cutest boys in his class.
Malcome didn't come out to parents until he was 15. His mother always knew, and like always she was very loving and caring. Malcome's father however, was very indifferent. He couldn't fathom the idea that Malcome liked boys, and assumed he was going through a phase, brushing off Malcome's affections constantly. "You'll change your mind when you're older" he always said, and because of that Malcome's relationship with his father strained. In high school around sophomore year, Malcome was accepted to a creative arts summer camp. From there he met his now friend Kelsey, both kept in touch after, Malcome made an email just to write to her.
When Malcome was a senior, he was accepted to AMDA, a performing arts school based in California and New York. The best part was that Kelsey's family resided in NY and she gladly offered a place for him to stay at her apartment in Harlem. A small space her parents bought for her she could visit in between her travels. Malcome gladly accepted as it meant free room and board, one less cost he had to worry about.

History: Kelsey is the daughter of successful parents. Her father a business man, native to New York and her mother a French women who owns and produces high class Jewelry. Kelsey was put in the best schools, presented the best tutors and participated in many beneficial extra curricular activities. She raised on the belief that failure is nothing to be afraid of, and that it makes one a stronger person. At the age of 10 she met her adopted brother Rae on a family trip. Personality: Tomie is very much a lively person. With energy as dramatic as a lightning bolt, the woman almost always finds the means to stimulate herself- whether mentally or physically. Fears: There isn't much that Tomie's afraid of. Sure you have the irrational fear of rats (ever since she'd learned about the plague) and a silly fear of geese (don't ask). But other than that, she's pretty much secure.... Unless.... Unless you search deep within, for there it lays, plain in sight- a fear of disappointing loved ones, a fear of letting the people she has grown to adore down. History: Born and raised in the sunny beaches of Sydney, Australia Tomie has very much lived a comfortable life. With her father owning a chain of businesses, she was very much one of the more privileged children growing up. Only, she didn't have it all, there were things she had to do without. And that was a mother. Her mother had died in her early years, Liz was her name. Well, Liz was an avid surfer, an adrenaline junky in general- which is why Tomie's father had fell head over heals in the first place. But alas, Liz' reckless, thrill-seeking reputation had finally caught up to her and she had drowned at their favourite beach. Tomie was only three at the time, bathing suit sticking to chubby thighs and head tilting in confusion. She thought her mother would've been back by now. But the crashing waves had swallowed her whole, and to this day they still don't know where the body lies. And thus, the broken family had never seen her again and her father, the once warming and tender father that he was, grew into a stone-cold man, diving into his work to cope with the pain. And Kai, well Kai still to this day suffers from his mothers loss. It was a very lonely childhood to say in the least. Other: Being the more outgoing one of the two, Tomie always tries to bring her brother out of his constrictive shell. And yet, his pleas and refusals never seem to bother her, she knows what's good for him, even though he doesn't.

Fears: Losing Tomie. He had been just three years old when his mother died- and what's worse was that he was there. Always having been a momma's Boy, he was the one eagerly learning how to swim as Tomie read alongside her father back on the sand. She was definitely more of daddy's girl. And yet, he paid no mind to them mas he swam with floaties, the waves only getting rockier and rockier. Until watched his mother drown. Witnessing the waves digest the lively woman without any mercy. All the while she screamed for him to get to shore before it was too late, before he too would lose himself. Her last words were pleas of fear, of worry. And thus, he keeps a bit of a tight leash on Tomie- who just happens to be the spitting image of his mother, physically and mentally. That, and he will never go past the shore line on any occasion, he won't ever risk it. History: As soon as his mother died, both the men in the family had closed themselves off entirely. Ignoring a poor Tomie in the mix. She was just so...so similar to the woman that changed on all of their lives, it was hard to even look at her at times. But then, slowly but surely, after years of deep pain and sadness, Kai became more and more attentive to his sister. He grew to accept that his mother would never return but that his sister was now in her place, and he would never let her go. Other: Even though the incident with his mother took place eons ago, Kai still suffers from unpredictable PTSD. Some days he can manage it, can move past it. But sometimes, the nightmares keep him up, and he's unable to breathe. Even when the water is just a figment of his ruthless imagination.
