Why do I love you so much?
It's not your eyes, nor your fair lips
nor because your hair is always a mess
though I do like that about you.

It's not because you take too long
with everything and everyone
no matter where you are
though I like that about you as well.

It's not because you cry
when you see a sad movie
or a puppy without a home
though I do love that about you so well

It's because you are you
and will never stop being you
no matter how much you change
no matter how weird you become

So if you ever grow apart from me
if the love you had for me
burns out like a flame lost to the wind
and you want to pack your bags and leave

Remember, that I will always have a piece of you
buried deep in the corner of my heart
and I will stay right here if you ever need me
no matter how far you go
how far you are
how far you become
