Cassandra 'Cassie' Swift - Shade

tapioca__s_shadow_by_pandachu-d3jwws9.png

Cassie isn't technically speaking human, as if you couldn't tell by her ears. Cassie was pulled into this world by Richard Swift, the Golden Age Shade because he was lonely and wanted a daughter. Even he's not sure just what she is. She's more real than a shadow creation, so did he steal a child from another dimension? Is she a creation of his will? Is someone out there looking for her? Unsurprisingly, Richard and Cassie have had a complicated relationship, which was only made worse when, as a young teen, she began manifesting the same Darkness Manipulation abilities that he does.

Currently, she doesn't live with her adopted father, instead going to art school.

Abilities: Cassie is a channeler of the power of the Darklands, a quasi-sentient, extra-dimensional mass of malleable darkness. She can use it for various effects, both as an absence of light and a solid substance: she can summon demons formed of darkness and can sometimes control them, summon and dispel shields and areas of complete darkness, create all kinds of constructs out of shadows, transport herself through it over distances of up to a mile. The darkness itself can be dispelled by sufficiently bright blasts of light or energy.

She's nowhere as adept at using the darkness as her father is, and isn't sure if she shares his immortality, not being terribly eager to test the theory.

She can also see in complete darkness, but cannot make out colors in such lighting.

Raelynn Hartford/Terrill Aka Darkstar

Raelynn is another illegitimate Terrill child, though she has no way of knowing whether Langford or Raymond is her father, as her mother doesn't remember much of the drunken encounter. She started to develop albinism in her teen years, and her powers activated the summer of her graduation after a prank gone wrong from her fellow classmate.

She finds out about the ray by her own research, and decides she too will become a hero, though she refuses the family heroing name, if only because it's still in use.

May not be the final cut of her origin story, spent most of the night drawing.

AAAAAND ... Baxter inspired me to do some art for my character :p

I'm looking to see if I can find her old bio, but here's a reference photo:

Koriand'r, also known as Starfire, came to Earth from the planet Tamaran. In her youth, she was a member of the Teen Titans, and she developed a relationship with Dick Grayson, the ward of Bruce Wayne. Dick and Kory were to be married, but their wedding went horribly awry and Starfire left Earth to recollect herself during a two-year period where she traveled the galaxy.

She eventually returned to Earth, the planet that felt most like home to her after the succession of her sister, Komand'r, to the throne of Tamaran. Upon her return to Earth, Koriand'r found a home in the old Titan Tower, which had since been abandoned as the group divided and went their separate ways.

Aside from the power of flight and superhuman strength, Starfire has the ability to produce starbolts -- powerful blasts of energy that can be used to disable and maim her targets. Although she rarely uses the skill anymore after being told that it was viewed as strange by most people on Earth, Kory can also learn any language by kissing its speaker. She is an excitable and passionate character and a loyal friend. Her only companion throughout her time alone has been Syl'khee, a strange, furry, worm-like alien creature.

Greg Hammer. "The Christmas Lantern"

Greg Hammer who sometimes goes by the name Christmas Lantern is a human male who uses BOTH a green lantern power ring and a red lantern power ring. Jokingly the colours of Christmas, hence the name.
He is a DJ with anger management issues, and the will to act on them. He bids it well. However, late at night, he used to go on a vendetta to make the world How he sees fit. Furious at what it had become. The rings gave him the power he needed to rid the streets of crime.

In case you are wondering, he doesn't wear a lantern uniform. Choosing to instead wear clothes similar to his own. Much like Jack T. Chance. This is partly because he doesn't want to be affiliated with the Green Lantern Corp because he sees them saw self righteous, and doesn't want to be associated with the Red Lantern Corps because he sees them as not being able to control the red fires of rage that turn most of them into mindless monsters.
Partly because it's really hard to find art for a character using a red and green ring. So, just his eyes change colour.
Originally they are blue, but when he uses the green ring, his right eye changes to green, when he uses the red ring his left eye changes to red.

Peachy thinking just us, or walk-in?

EDIT: Us like ... the people in this thread ... in case that wasn't clear.

EDIT2: I must insist, cause I'm a fan,
We sometimes guest-spot Etrigan.

I imagine it could be an open group, but instead of just having people walk in, we should have them collaborate with us all somehow to see how they'd best fit in the story. What do you think?

That works for me! Does anyone have an idea for a starting scenario? Do we want to all room together in something like the Titan Tower?

It might be better for there to be some big threat/disaster that we all individually respond to and over the course of working together bond. Then Starfire could invite everyone back to the abandoned Titan's Tower. The Titans being gone for whatever reason.

Titans being gone because shit went down and Star took off across the galaxy, Nightwing decided to leave the memories behind and rent an apartment, Raven and Gar left to do their own thing(?) and Cyborg decided to peace out, since everyone else was, too.

If anyone wanted to play Cyborg, he could still be in Titan Tower. Kory would go back to it because it was the last place she knew, I'd imagine.

I like the idea that we all work our way back to it as a group instead of starting there.

Any votes for starting heist/villain?

Hmmm ... So, we need a disaster that wiped out the traditional DC heavy hitters, and disbanded the titans. What if we steal the Forever Evil story line but use Darkseid instead of the Outsider? He opens another rift to try to bring all of Apokolips through into this universe, and all of the big DC names fly off to close the rift while teams like the titans stay behind to stop the ground forces. The rift closes, trapping everyone's mentors on the far side, and leaving earth with an overabundance of villains and few powerful heroes. Star leaves to find a way to open a boom tube, the titans suffer losses and decide to disband after Nightwing is unmasked by the syndicate and retire.

Then we just start off there, like six months later. Star has just come back to find no big super-teams in operation, and crime on the rise in a mysteriously coordinated fashion. Maybe we all respond tooooo ... I don't know ... exploding bank? Power plant held hostage? Just a super-something-something terrorizing people?

Hey, bank heists are always a good starting point. Add some explosives and you've got yourself a party!

Hmm, with the power level of the characters though... Maybe it's a bunch of meta humans trying to break into a research facility where the remains of the watchtower are being stored? Their plan is to recover any tech or information concerning boom tubes and mother box tech?

That seems a bit more balanced, yeah.

I mean, if we can assemble the team on here and work together to make it, we'll know everyone is on the same page. I've got choir tonight, so I'm going to be going AFK for a couple of hours in about 30 minutes.
