OdhrΓ‘n stands at a tall 6' 2", broad-shouldered and lean, and carrying himself with relaxed confidence and lackadaisical movements. His olive-toned complexion bears the healthy glow of someone who prefers summer sunshine over drawing rooms, dotted with freckles and moles. His mahogany hair falls in short, soft curls, constantly threatening charming disarray no matter how much effort is made to tame them. His eyes are a warm hazel, reminiscent of moss-covered tree bark, shining with playful mischief.

The first thing anyone notices about the man is how radiant and pleasant his pearly grin is. His frequent laughter and smiles have already caused the outer corners of his eyes to show signs of crow's feet and smile lines--a fact he's actually quite content about. Several tiny, faded scars litter his hands and wrists, caused by thorns when he was young and learning to use his leyline. Yes.. he has an Irish accent.

OdhrΓ‘n's wardrobe is fairly casual compared to many other noblemen's, built more around comfort and movement over formality. He prefers billowy sleeves and vests instead of overcoats, and often dons natural shades of green, autumn burgundy, warm browns, and even embroidered florals. He'll wear mud-stained riding boots or dress shoes based on the occasion.

OdhrΓ‘n doesn't really accessorize, save for the flower he'll occasionally tuck into his lapel and a silk handkerchief he keeps in his pocket. He'll wear the Hawthorne's signet ring to formal occasions, and as much as he detests them, will put on a cravat when necessary. He pleasantly smells of bayrum and herbs.

Several generations ago, when blight swept across the kingdom and harvests failed, it was House Hawthorne's leyline that prevented a catastrophic famine. Their ancestors coaxed dying orchards back to life, restored barren fields, and sustained the surrounding region long enough for the land to recover naturally.
In recognition of their invaluable aid to the kingdom, the Crown awarded the noble house the title of earldom and stewardship of a glittering glasshouse that would come to be known as St. Verre Conservatory. Nestled in the capital's wealthy district, the conservatory is filled with rare flowers, medicinal herbs, and exotic fruit trees, and has since become one of the city's prized landmarks. Charity galas, tea parties, promenades, and proposals often take place here.
The members of the Hawthorne family, even those without the leyline, are known for their boundless energy, sunny dispositions, and being very outdoorsy. It is not uncommon to see the close-knit family promenade under the summer sun, have picnics in parks, or go for leisurely rides through the canals in rowboats. While OdhrΓ‘n has learned patience by tending seedlings, he still hasn't seemed to grasp the idea of responsibility.

As OdhrΓ‘n grows older, the elders in the family have begun pressuring him into finally settling down; it's time for him to learn the duties of the title he'll inherit, and find a wife to continue the Hawthorne Leyline. OdhrΓ‘n possesses the Hawthorn Leyline, granting him the ability to manipulate plant life to his whims. He can accelerate plant growth, encourage blossoms, shape vines and branches, and nurture weakened vegetation. He is well known for seemingly conjuring flowers from thin air, but in reality, he keeps seeds in his waistcoat pocket and coaxes them into full bloom within moments to present as gifts. While this leyline can be used defensively through thorned vines and shifting roots, members of House Hawthorne generally prefer to use it to cultivate life instead.

He has a habit of ending things honestly before any promises are made.

- Hair Style: The 'titus', a rebellious short, and shaggy style. Inspired by roman statues, those brazen enough to wear it are often seen as rebellious or eccentric. In Emrafah's case, she simply finds it easier to maintain and thus, she would more appropriately fall into the latter category. Of course wigs are always an option in a pinch if the occasion warrants it.
- Distinctions: Large beseeching and haunting eyes, often gives off the impression of innocence but observer beware.
- Clothing: Outsiders will have noticed by now a gradual tilt into eccentricity in the Lady's choices in style. Her preferences when it comes to fashion, quite characteristically, changes on a whim and she is not embarrassed to experiment, a privilege she can afford due to her good standing in society, within court and with all thanks due to her father and late husband. (Now, if she can just manage to maintain the privilege on her own merits - and that of her vast fortune - has yet to be seen.) She has of late, taken to powdering and painting her face as if in nod to bygone eras, or even daresay, to the women of a lower caste. Her envelope-pushing when it comes to her trials in appearance are commonly forgiven and have even sparked a number of fads among the coutiers. Trendsetting aside, what is not common knowledge regarding her sartorial expressions is that it is likely strongly influenced by her prolonged usage of opium.
PERSONALITY.
- *Personality: Emra - as friends are prone to call her - is an exquisitely charming and generous ally. Her ability to laugh, love and to not take life too seriously is a strange talent indeed in these buttoned up and patriarchal times. She is known to be sharp of wit and exceedingly candid. On the opposite end of the spectrum, Emrafah can be a formidable foe who does not flinch easily and does not like to lose.
- *Loves: Peonies, the extraordinary, reading, disillusionment, the night sky (lesser luminaries in particular), the taboo, magic, games, belly laughs, wine, macrons, rain, velvet, rodents, spiders, watching innocence fade to make way for something remarkably better, and the esoteric
- *Hates: the necessity for pretense, being condescended to, being taken for weak, tears (her own and others)
- Habits: her eye contact is unparalleled and she will use it to her advantage, as well as her amazing poker face she likes to tease people with for her own amusement.

BIOGRAPHY.
- *House Hyzenthlay : The Hyzanthlay's were a respectable house and considered irreplaceable within their community, in no small part owed to Lord Hyzanthlay making good use of his leyline ability. He became known as a dream doctor, a title that never sat entirely too comfortably with the Lord but was allowed to persist as it helped him find favor in the eyes of the gentry and eventually, the crown. The King had suffered from night terrors for years and thought beyond all hope until word of a physician of dreams began to spread through court, and it wasn't long before Lord Hyzanthlay was able to procure favor with the royal family itself. Consequently, all at once he became a familiar face among the courtiers at the palace and often, on such occasions that he was called to court he would bring with him his only child and inherent of his leyline, Emrafah, who learned his trade and through this tutelage grew to become even more adept than he. It would be at court that Emrafah would be introduced to the much older Marquess Blanchard and though it was not love that would sprout, there was a fruitful arrangement to be struck.
- *Leyline Type: The Marchioness can create and manipulate her own dreams and that of others. She can even influence people by placing messages deep within the subconscious of a sleeping person while they dream. Depending on how deep in thought a person is at any given time there is the potential to manipulate daydreams as well, although this is harder to accomplish as one might suspect, it is not impossible. She can also conjure specific or non-specific nightmares or conversely, can promote specific or non-specific spiritual or emotional healing in a person through their dreams. Further, it is possible for Emrafah to step inside a dreamscape with or without the dreamers knowledge and as one can imagine this holds an array of potentialities, both lovely and devastating depending on the goal (or price paid).
- *Reputation & Rumors: The Marquess Blanchard had always a reputation for generosity. He donated frequently to charity and built several schools plus a hospital, even extending his benevolence to the individual poor, taking in wards from the local towns he saw promise in. He would in such cases help the entire family where needed and within reason, all of which cemented his standing amongst the commoners and gentry as a man with an abundant heart and a purse to match. The obtaining of his families wealth being no secret as he was an avid investor with a good eye for talent and "betting on the right horse". As such a man, he once served as trusted counselor to his Majesty before his illness became of the dire sort. At the height of his ailment it was Emrafah who eased her husbands suffering by entering into his dreams to comfort him and in the end helped to usher him unto the waiting arms of death. Though their marriage had never transformed into the type of love longed for by romantics at heart, the love that had developed had taken a lovely shape all of its own.
- *Upbringing: Emrafah's upbringing as an only child had been radiant, and as the apple of her fathers eyes she was treated like a princess and spoiled to the heavens. Her gift became apparent as a child when, for a period of time all she wanted to do was sleep. Where at first it was thought that the young girl had fallen into sickness it was soon discovered that she had been sneaking laudanum from her fathers cabinet of tinctures to induce sleep wherein she could live fantastical and romantic adventures to her hearts content. Upon questioning the girl, it was clear her dreams were not of the same mundane sort as others and that in fact, she had inherited her fathers leyline. Unfortunately, her acquired taste for laudanum would follow her into her adult years and beyond.
- Current Stakes: Emra, though in no real need of money since her husbands passing, has yet created a lucrative business for herself as - what she calls - a 'Dream Guide', in which she has followed in her late fathers footsteps most proudly. She is looking forward to this season not out of any personal, romantical curiosity but more so as an opportunity to expand her business and make connections. Even if money does not exchange hands, a trade could be just as seductive. After all, the young and clumsy in love could find themselves at a disadvantage in seeking a mate if not for a little 'guidance'. A note should be entered into the record that Emrafah has not written off love for herself entirely, she's just placed it behind other priorities. Yet if love did see fit to cross her path she would not go out of her way to dodge it.
- Connections: His majesty, Soren Augustine holds her on perpetual retainer if ever in need of her services again.

Aspen is moderately heighted at 5'11, relatively lithe and slim of build. He more frequently than not allows his face to be decorated by a light scruff, which he never lets grow out into something that can be pulled or otherwise styled. Aspen walks with one hand in his pocket, a playful strut and greets with a ready, bright grin, though his vibrantly amber eyes are almost always concealed by a pair of dark teashades that he will have donned even indoors. His hair is typically shoulder length, brushed and straight, with a dark brown tone that matches the scruff on his face.β

As all born to the Kyulis leyline are, Aspen was born with vibrantly amber eyes, denoting the active magic of his heritage. These eyes appear otherwise quite typical to human physiology. He is otherwise unmarred, with few scars to speak of and even fewer blemishes, the questionable heir having lived the majority of his life peacefully, albeit not without political and familial tensions.

Though he may have once tried to avoid caving into the habits of his family, Aspen came to appreciate their flashy or colorful projection. Aspen will be found almost inevitably in dashing, bright vests and eye-catching shirts with alluring frills and deep collars that relish in his lithe physique. Though he doesn't tend to splash too many colors at once into a single outfit, his wardrobe is quite colorful, and there isn't a general shade that he hasn't been spotted in. Additionally, though it is not common practice for the adults of the Kyulis family leyline, Aspen frequently hides his eyes behind a veil of dark teashades, and unless he is in intimate company, he will wear these obscuring shades even indoors and on overcast, gloomy days.

Aspen loves to decorate himself and tends to wear jewelry that suits the colors he's adorned for the day comfortably. Necklaces to complement his low necklines, anywhere between two to four rings adorning each hand, bracelets and anklets alike, and so on. Aspen is playfully dismissive, a life of open disappointment by his peers and family dulling his sense of duty in spite of their lingering affection and love for him. He's a tad spoiled, and even without the use of his leyline, he is accustomed to finding things going his way in social regards. As such, Aspen is charming, impulsive and playful, but he can be dismissive, not realize when he's coming off as apathetic or cynical. In spite of this shortcoming, he wants to be kind and can be swiftly guilted after hurting someone's feelings or realizing that he has done wrong. He is generally welcoming to those from any and all walks of life, but the more attached to duty, responsibility or leyline heritage that people are, the less interested in them Aspen becomes, his mood souring hastily when such topics begin to dominate the room. Aspen is a good vibe, but he tends to go out of his way to avoid, dodge or fumble any sense of responsibility that can be thrust upon him, making him an unreliable heir to the Kyulis household.

Aspen is a fan of the arts and has spent countless hours experimenting with those that resonate best with him, the most consistent of which has been the violin. He enjoys swordplay as a hobby, but he is not a dedicated fencer or combatant, much preferring to put his charm and wit to the test than his arm. Aspen gets along swiftly with free spirits and those with open hearts and minds. He can perform as the life of any party, but he prefers smaller gatherings that he can entertain and engage with people much more personally, where he can earn the admiration of his peers with various practices and skills in just about any way that excludes his leyline.

Aspen dislikes haughtiness when it is specifically attached to a person's heritage or leyline. Despite his outgoing nature, he doesn't like to share about or have his family life pried into, and he has a natural distaste for order and cannot stand to be bored. He dislikes being alone and tends to overcorrect when he is unskilled at a particular skill or art, finding discomfort in the idea that he might become a public spectacle if he fails to put a strong attempt into any hobby that he might become known for. In direct contrast to that, Aspen is not skilled at wielding his leyline in spite of his age, and he hates to be reminded of this fact. He dislikes the expectation that he should be mastering his leyline as the current eldest child of the head of the Kyulis estate, but the pity or disappointment of his family irks him even further.

Aspen is something of a failure with his leyline, and is incredibly insecure about his inability to master control over his remarkable eyes and their ability to affect and influence the emotions of others. Contrary to being incapable of using his leyline, he finds himself incapable of stopping, with every person who meets his eyes being instinctually nudged to mirror or mimic his own mood (hence the constant use of shades to put a barrier between he and those that might otherwise be affected). Boredom and loneliness can ruin his drive, and he's too impulsive to be considered reliable. Despite his learned cynicism, he is quick to guilt and shame and finds personal discomfort in being the subject of peoples' disappointment, so he tends to overcorrect for the sake of others when he wants to be on their good side or impress them. Despite this, he has a shaky relationship with his family, and he fears that their affection for him will one day run out as they come to terms with his unwillingness to wed and his inability to master moodweaving.

To the people of the royal capital, the Kyulis family is something of a curiosity. Their ability to influence the emotional state of the people that lock eyes with their peculiar amber irises is as varied in its application as it is disliked by the majority of the people. Most who interact with the family would report nothing short of an affable encounter with relatively traditional and very dedicated loyalists, but there's always been the lingering discomfort with the concept that any encounter with a Kyulis can be suspect given the nature of their abilities. Hailing originally from another land, the Kyulis blood and leyline alike has prospered in the kingdom of Elyria at the will of the royals, who accepted the Kyulis into their borders some generations past. Since then, many of the Kyulis line have enjoyed positions of mild political import, serving as ambassadors and taking similar roles on as needed to serve the kingdom's interests. The intricacies of Aspen's childhood may not be commonly known, but it is no secret that the young heir is something of a disappointment to the house. It is not quite public knowledge as to why this is, but it is public knowledge that Aspen is more or less incapable of mastering his abilities. Some speculate that this means he cannot use them at all, while others have whispered that perhaps it means he can only use his power for limited ranges of emotion that prove useless in society, but whatever the case, the Kyulis head maintains high expectations for his firstborn son, and they have yet to be met. On the contrary, the younger siblings that have taken to the Kyulis leyline all seem to be more or less on track with where the expectation lies, but as Aspen aged, he took to rebellion more naturally than he did obeisance, and as such, it is more or less common knowledge that Aspen, despite being the eldest of his siblings, is the least reliable Kyulis representative to engage with.

The Kyulis leyline manifests as vibrant, amber colored eyes and acts as an emotional manipulation. If one locks eyes even for a brief moment with a member of the Kyulis line, they can have their emotional state nudged, heavily influenced or otherwise manipulated by the wielder of the Kyulis Moodweave, making the Kyulis line particularly potent with social endeavors, political intricacies and according to rumors, matters of subterfuge. All the same, this leyline represents few, if any, combative properties and aggressive applications of this magic have not been explored by the Kyulis line since their acceptance into Elyria. To those aware of the Kyulis ability (which includes the vast majority of the Elyrian nobility), it is of note that a stark weakness of the Kyulis moodweave is that awareness of their intent can more or less make the emotional manipulation useless. An individual is never stripped of will when under moodweave's influence, and therefore can willingly choose to oppose their own feelings out of fear of being manipulated. As such, many people dislike making dealings with the Kyulis house simply out of fear that their eagerness to accept any dealings made were influenced in some way. The house is nevertheless in very good standing, and goes out of its way to ensure the comfort of their fellow houses (to the best of their abilities).

Aspen is known to be very friendly, but indulgent, eager to please and amuse himself. He is gentle and playful, but it isn't a secret that his grasp over the Kyulis Moodweave is unstable or weak in some manner, so it has always become something of an expectation to find him in teashades that obscure his eyes and otherwise dampen the leyline's application. Whether or not people believe that he is spiteful of his house seems to vary based on who is asked, but he is nevertheless known to be a relatively passive individual with more interest in intrigue and pleasure than noble expectations.

The rumors revolving around Aspen himself are simple and repetitive; failure-cum-vagrant, the house might replace him as heir with a younger sibling capable of wielding the moodeweave properly, whispers about his comings and goings and so forth. The house, however, has its own share of rumors circulating, primarily more about the potential of house Kyulis' abilities as opposed to anything with legitimate evidence. Due to the nature of the Kyulis leyline, it's not difficult to imagine what sort of underhanded boons they may have reaped or what methods that they may have used to ascend to nobility generations ago, and there are always tall tales to be told about the services that they may be offering to the kingdom in exchange for their comfort and safety in Elyria. Nevertheless, there remains nothing substantiated about the less savory rumors, save for a few bad apples scattered about the last hundred years or so, and the Kyulis house remains on good, if not tentative terms with just about every other house they associate with. Their jovial, polite and level-headed demeanors work wonders on the peoples' speculation, though there will always be those with doubt in their hearts and mischief on their minds.

- House Meyers : An old line of significant status. They are a military and construction-focused family. The king continues to hire them with multiple projects; including the current castle.
The Meyers house is on excellent terms with a wide range of other respected families. Lord Earl and his wife, Rosina, are popular figures in court. - Limited Gravity Manipulation: He has a 5β magical zone centered on himself. Inside the magical zone, he can focus on three objects at a time, including himself, and change their direction of gravity. It takes two seconds to pick up anything lighter than 100kg. It takes four seconds to carry anything higher than 100kg.
He can walk on walls, ceilings, or upside down. Ludovic can't fly, but he can jump higher than most people, and he can hover a foot off the ground. Using his magic on himself throws off his natural body instincts, so he cannot do this for long. Two minutes, or twenty in-character posts. He uses his magic frequently, to grab little objects or make things float around him. - Upbringing: He was born the third youngest of nine siblings. All sons except the youngest daughter. Ludovic had a sword in his hands the moment he was born. Raised by his brothers more than his father, the boy still grew up in a strict household. Except for the servants, who gave Ludovic everything he wanted. The pompous attitude, supposedly, came from them, and his brothers neglecting him. At age five, he was sent to boarding school.
At age nine, he returned, and then ran away. He worked on the docks for eight months as a thief. An old man taught him how to be a thief, until he realized who Ludovic was. He returned the lord's son and got a ton of cash. For two years, Ludovic was sent to a distant military base, not as a worker, but an unpaid servant. He earned his freedom, but still refuses to lose his bratty attitude. - When the Rayan Campaign began, when he was nineteen, his father sent him north again. He stayed there for four years. Unfortunately, the verbal and physical abuse was significantly worse than before. This is a difficult time to talk about for him. When he tried to escape, he was punished and forced to be a servant for three months; and to wear chains around his feet. He gained his scars during this time. Ludovic returned to Delamare early this spring. Personally, he is happy to leave that place behind.
- Current Stakes: Ludovic wants to be free of his bossy father. He isn't interested in finding a wife, and does everything he can to stay a bachelor.

They have an extensive library on their estate, which is open to the public of their small city on certain days of the week, and they have a large collection of historical artifacts, which are often lent to the universities for study.
- *Leyline Type: Memory transference, inherited from his motherβs bloodline, is the power in which touch (skin to skin) allows Wil to limitedly experience snippets of either a random core memory or a powerful recent memory (recently reminisced or occurred). Prolonged touch can inadvertently push Wilβs consciousness into believing he is experiencing the memory as his own, sensations emotions thoughts and all. Distance is usually the easiest method in dissipating that state of being. And while there are methods in which mental fortitude can withstand (and potentially even block or navigate) the muscle-memory, it requires practice and general know-how. Theoretically he knows how thanks to his motherβs poor tutelage, but heβs consistently opted for the easy-out of no-contact.
- *Reputation & Rumors: Rumors are that Wilβs mother wasnβt exactly the keenest on her arranged marriage thanks to a certain beau, but in the end she had conceded to her fatherβs will and married the man of his choosingβsupposedly the βbest match for fruitful offspringβ. Nothing Wil does is ever acceptable or good enough, despite his dedication to his studies and whatever other activities his father desired he participate in. Hunting? Sure. Cricket? Okay. Abroad study? Absolutely. But Wil has always suspected something not quite right, and with no evidence. All he has are suspicions about mother, equally guarded as he.
- Current Stakes: Father is threatening disinheriting Wil if he doesnβt marry this season, though heβs fully aware that this is an empty threat because Wil carries the leyline and not his sister. Artemis is 165cm, and has an average physique. She's not too fussed about society and beauty standards, and isn't going to starve just because "it'll look better". She just prefers darker, neutral colours. And for her, comfort and practicality in outfits matter more than aesthetics. If she could get away with dressing in black everyday, she would, but alas that colour is associated with mourning, so she falls back onto midnight blues, greys, and occasionally silver. That being said, I could see her going with a Gothic style to piss off the traditionalists if comfort and practicality aren't applicable, for like balls.

She has a treasured necklace from her aunt, with a moon pendant, which she wears on a daily basis. Also, she carries a hidden dagger and drinking flask all the time. Personality
Unlike her older sister, Celeste who is more graceful and demure, the perfect heiress for their mother to parade about at balls and gatherings, Lune, or rather, Artemis has never been that into fashion, gatherings, and the expectations of her eventually needing to be married to someone. She has a wealthy aunt who is the black sheep of the family - never married, no children, and that aunt gave her the middle name of Artemis, and plans to leave her estate to her niece eventually, so Artemis' parents can't even withdraw finances in hopes of making her comply.
Artemis is very much a free spirit, constantly asking questions like "why aren't women allowed education at university too", "why does society only have such few options for women anyways", and could often be found in her family's library, or on walks around their estate, and she would rather not settle down and get married "just because that's how things have always been done", and hey, she has her aunt as a role model too so that opened her eyes at an early age that one could be happy and live a fulfilling life alone.
Prior to her exile, Artemis was still perfectly polite, albeit a bit too cold and blunt at times, with the RP accent drilled into her from childhood. However, after eight years of exile, performing enforcer duties for her aunt in the equivalent of Birmingham, she has picked up the accent, terms, and slang.
And does she care about hiding it with the RP accent and cool politeness? Nah - Artemis is proud of her exile and time away from the capital, and she leans into the Brummie accent, forgoing the RP accent favoured by the ton. Because why does it matter? She's literally just here as a spectator, who cares about "seeming ladylike"?

She's also not a fan of typical nobility life, where it seems like everyone is expected to marry and pass down their leyline magic, thinking her older sister and everyone else "playing the game" are living in a gilded cage.

There is belief that the Evernight family has its origins at Nyx, or some sort of night goddess, but the stories have already been lost. For those fortunate enough to inherit a power, it varies by the individual (fate wanted to be entertained, so they made it a game of chance what a descendant could get, if any). Please feel free to read through this page to see other powers and abilities which that bloodline could have inherited - I just settled on Nocturnality for Artemis cuz why not but this was the pool I was looking at. They're a pretty respected family in society, and don't really have enemies.
The Evernight magic is from her mother, Stella. Their father, Cillian is a Null - someone who was not born with a leyline (valuable to people seeking to pass down their leyline without concerns of incompatibility and/or their leyline being passed over for their partnerβs), but it does mean Stella calls the shots in the family instead of him. Lune was his favourite, as she was a free spirit, and innately curious - he offered her sanctuary in his study, and took her on his hunting trips to get her away from the suffocating nature of Stella's etiquette lessons and trying to make her conform.

The main branch (Stella and Celeste) didn't even bother to notify them, and it was in the papers that Nyx and Artemis saw the names of the fallen.
Her first visit back to the capital, some time after the funeral - a tense standoff with Celeste, who she hasn't seen/heard from since her exile, and the lines, βI thought, maybe you could love me like you used to. And as she was not in high society for the past eight years, whispers have faded out, as the ton chased newer gossip and scandals. But now she's returning, and is definitely not what they're expecting.

They think she has been in some seaside town simply chilling out and that she would learn to become more ladylike during her time in exile. Well, that rumour is absolutely false. Her aunt Nyx does have a vacation home at the seaside, but they only go for the occasion vacation. Most of the time, they are too busy with life and their various mob duties and interests in the industrial city equivalent to modern Birmingham.

House Sinclair isn't among the most politically powerful families in Delmare, yet nearly every noble house has made use of their leyline at one point or another. For generations, the Sinclairs have long stood at the threshold between life and death, burdened by the ability to perceive and commune with ghostly spirits. Those who inherit this leyline are capable of seeing, speaking, and physically interacting with spirits of the dead, and in rare circumstances, can even attempt to summon those beyond the grave. However, the family has no control over what spirits do; they cannot command or banish them.
House Sinclair has become an indispensable part of Delmare's funerary customs and traditions. They are often called upon following the deaths of nobles, monarchs, and distinguished figures to determine whether there are any unspoken final words or affairs to be settled. Memorial services are often delayed until a capable Sinclair determines whether the deceased has crossed peacefully into the afterlife or if they are tethered to the mortal world by unfinished business.
Among the ton, House Sinclair is regarded with equal parts admiration and unease. They are welcomed at every ball and banquet, but people often keep their distance, potentially put off by the possibility of an unseen audience accompanying the sepulchral family. The Sinclairs are known to be remarkably gentle people, prized for their empathy, discretion, and sensitivity, making them trusted confidants during times of grief and privately sought out for counsel after loss. Additionally, they are perhaps the only noble family in Delmare that gets away with frequently wearing black outside of mourning periods.

The Truth: Utter rubbish. Damien is not a vampire, nor any other member of his family, and he has been seen during the day on many occasions.

The Rumor: When visitors are allowed to visit Ebonrose estate, they claim to see raven's perched within the branches of the trees surrounding the estate and those black beady eyes watch their every move.

Anthony is the bastard son of the current Earl Monroe, born of an affair between the lord and one the maids. His mother, Penelope, was allowed to reside in a country home belonging to the Monroe family and given an allowance to keep quiet about the lord stepping out on his wife and the resulting illegitimate child. She was content to do so as it allowed her to leave the manor and raise her son as she saw fit without worry. As such Anothony grew up in the countryside completely unaware of who his biological father was, content to learn how to shepherd sheep from the man down the road.

There his days were filled with endless tutoring as he was expected to make up for lost time and become a proper heir to the Monroe family.

With it he is able to revert an object back to a state it was previously in, like willing a dropped glass that was shattered on the floor to be a glass once more. Though the larger the leap in time, or the more complex the object the higher toll on the user. The most taxing application would be on the injuries of a living creature. While possible such uses will leave the user bed bound or unconcious for days, weeks, or months depending on the severity of the injury.

Aven is tall and lanky, some would say all legs, coming in at 6'2" in height. His dark brunette hair is wound in loose curls, and freckles dot his narrow, angular face. He is considered handsome, if not beautiful, by many of the young ladies of the ton. He has large, deep brown eyes that tend to feel as if they're staring into your very soul. Aven considers his best feature to be his hair, and spends considerable time each morning getting it just right.

One of his more prominent and visible scars is a crescent-shaped scar on his collarbone. It almost looks like someone bit him. Aven is a heavy smoker, and it is reflected in his voice, as well as his odor, though it is not as unpleasant as modern cigarettes.

Little is known of the Honorable Sir Aven's personality among the members of the ton. Little to no one remembers his past, as he departed for the military academy before making his official society debut. Aven prefers it that way. He is a very private person, and even his family knows little about his personal life or romantic escapades. He is formal, and somewhat stilted in conversation, especially with women. Whether this is due to a lack of confidence or some other holdup is unknown. He is always willing to make conversation about horses, however. When he lets down his guard, he tends to joke with his conversation partner, and maybe slip in a few dry comments.

Elliot's leyline is also an ancient one, with an ancient name. It emerged in a time of great strife and unrest in Delmare. It gives the wielder the ability to heal from most wounds, though not all. Severing the head is considered one of the few ways to ensure an Elliot heir dies. This healing is not instantaneous, at least not in the current generation. But it is definitely accelerated, compared an ordinary human. Due to Aven's service in the war his ability has been tested harder than his brothers, and as such is more powerful. Aven prefers to keep his true strength hidden though.

The name Isabel comes from the author Isabel Allende, who wrote βhouse of the spiritsβ. She was a strong south amercian Feminist in the 1800's.
The middle name, Herbert, came from βTaylor Herbertβ or Skitter, from Worm by Wildbow. Her power inspired Isabel's leyline (and possibly sad backstory).
The surname BuendΓa is from β100 years of Solitudeβ by Gaberiel GarcΓa MΓ‘rquez. This is a popular South American novel about how a family, the BuendΓa's, created their curse. - Her mother taught her how to use fans and daggers.
BIOGRAPHY.
- [*]House BuendΓa: An ancient family house shrouded in mystery. Today, they are a small family with only two known leyline holders. Isabel, and her aunt, Jill. They were known as some of the best farmers, healers, and theater performers in town.
A dwindling family that has fallen on hard times, and are desperate for new blood. In the traditional BuendΓa house, they have a hall called "hallway of mirrors". - [*] Composers: The BuendΓa's mentally sense every bug near them, up to thirty feet. This is a constant effect.
The leyline user can telepathically compulse insects to do their bidding. This overrides the insects' own will.
When controlling twenty bugs and under, commands are concise and easy to control.
More than twenty, the user has less control, and the bugs need simple directions.
(Ex. Spot - the user gets compelled bugs in the area to circulate in that spot.
Defend - compelled bugs swarm around the leyline user
Scatter/avoid - compelled bugs leave the area, and avoid it for as long as the leyline user compelled them to
Guard - compelled bugs guard an item as long as leyline user compelled them too)
Fetch - compelled bugs, to the best of their ability, work together to bring an item to the leyline user
Attack - compelled bugs attack whatever the user wants)
This leyline ability affects BuendΓa's dreams. The user, when asleep, can sense the local bugs' senses, as if it were their own. They subconsciously find human voices to focus on, so they use the bug senses, that are closer to the surface.
Some BuendΓa's are able to do this well awake (not Isabel). Sometimes, a BuendΓa gets insomnia because of this.
(Ex. If a maid is singing, the BuendΓa's are able to remember and sing that song word for word. Very uncanny)

At age eleven, her mother was in the market. In broad daylight, a man murdered her in cold blood. She died before she hit the street. It devastated Isabel, and her father. In a year, he re-married a woman.
Isabel refused to speak to him. Isabel didn't leave BuendΓa's manor until she was nineteen. Last season, her sister got married.
Instead of finding a lord, Isabel fell in love with a blonde haired servant. The man got her pregnant. Her maid found out a month later. Next, her father. Isabel was locked in her room, while her father, aunt and her husband drowned the man.
His body was hidden. The three planned on sending the child away. When Isabel gave birth, her son was secretly taken away from her. She knows, now, he was given to a farmer and his wife.
Forced to leave her room, she has been made to re-enter society in time for the social season.

Isabel keeps a bag full of her mother's bones in her room. It rattles even untouched - false. She doesn't even know where this came from, and she tries to not let it disturb her.

Ursula Senior BuendΓa - Isabel's mother. A quiet woman full of secrets. She was a strong feminist who wrote poetry about politics, family, and many other topics.
Ursula Jr. Vancouver - Isabel's older sister. She had a miscarriage in the winter. Fortunately, she is about to have another child.
Akrem Vancouver - He Ursula Jr's husband, now he is Ann's. A decent man who is often stressed. (Vancouver's are able to turn invisible after doing mild exercise; for example, sprinting for 10 minutes)

All the same, her determined optimism makes her much more decisive than one would think, so it's uncommon for her to behave fickly or without certainty, so if she sets her mind to something, she's a very capable and kind leader.

Her open gestures of affection can, will, and have pushed people away. She loves to share simple delights, and to her, kisses, hugs, clinging to new friends and other such actions can brew jealousy or resentment in people who take her too seriously. It is said that the Fairbourne leyline used to bestow the fae's gifts and favors upon the clanborn themselves, with historic members wielding incredible dexterity and cunning in combat, the capacity to wield powerful and room-disorienting illusions and even having the ability to call upon fae warriors and scholars alike in times of great need. In the height of their ability and standing alike, the Fairbourne were known to delegate between Delmare and the faefolk, acting as liaison's of the fae's will and the kingdom's needs. The second noted, albeit likely most coveted trait possessed of the Fairbourne is their unnaturally long lives, tending to average around 150 years. At current, their leyline seems to present with a few fae-favor focused boons, even in spite of the lack of apparent mythical benefactors. The Fairbourne all seem to be blessed with generally great luck (at a consistency high enough to be noted by people in their lives), they can call upon simple illusory tricks that include visuals, sounds and scents, and while they don't claim it as an individual ability, they tend to appear capable of light telekinesis, capable of moving things around with the flick of a wrist or floating small objects into their grasps.

She's kind and doting to a fault, so for the average person, it's difficult to dislike her excluding from afar, but that doesn't stop jealousy or unrequited yearning from occasionally breaking some young man or woman's heart and resulting in the occasional unfavorable rumor.

Rumors revolving around Clementine tend to be relatively repetitive; she kisses, she hugs, she dangles from, and therefore she must have slept with. She seems to often find herself on the receiving end of rumors that she steals the favor of men who are already engaged, corrupts other young men and women alike and is otherwise too frivolous and uncanny to be respected or expected to lead her house in the future. House Fairbourne itself also has a few deep rumors and speculative conspiracies. First and foremost of which is that the house has lost or is losing their abilities over time. Their lifespans are long and their beauty seems to never wane, but there hasn't been any documented contact with the fae in many, many years. All the same, they also notably don't host at their estate, be it in the countryside or in the capital- people have spread rumors both believable and otherwise about their staff all being magical in nature to there being no staff at all, or alternatively that they make sacrifices to old fae gods to retain the small bits of favor that seems to accompany their bloodline to this day.

House Amber is legend and myth in more places than one. Certain summers and winters turned deadly, and the Ambers emerged time and time again to preserve humanity, saving who they could. As doctors, chefs, mercenaries, and survivalists, they helped safeguard the lands and seas between. Some Ambers lived in the cities, some only on ships, and others in the deep wild. Not all Ambers were loyal to the Crown or the military; some were famously rebels and criminals with a flair for arson. Those who abandoned the peaceful and moderate life of mean temperature instead attempted harnessing extremes, ice and fire, believing themselves destined and immune to burning or freezing to death. This always resulted in dementia and violent madness, earning them the moniker the Mad Ambers. Exiled to the wild as hermits and hags, doomed as boogeymen in ghost stories, their remains were found cremated or frozen, leaving much speculation that the unbridled magic had consumed them in their final days. Some adventurers even went as far as to claim that the Mad Ambers turned into elemental monsters or draugar biding their time in crypts. Some of the sanest Ambers eventually still succumbed to mental illness in their later years. It is for this precise reason that the members of House Amber resume to hold themselves accountable, to stay within the medium where it is reasonable and safe.

From parlor tricks such as keeping food and beverages freshly warmed or chilled to emergencies such as breaking fevers and treating hypothermia, it is expected of Lord Luke to use it often for everyone's benefit but he is still young. He isn't as talented and disciplined as his mother and the other elders of House Amber who are licensed doctors or chefs. Today it takes him slightly more concentration and only direct contact, and may take decades before he is able to perform multiple tasks at once and indirectly with a look, even insulating an entire home. For the Ambers, the seasons are never too hot or cold. He (and another person while in contact) can skinny-dip in icy water or endure winds and snow bare naked without consequence. Strengthsβ β¦
Cordy is good at keeping a well checked face, aside from her blushing, and usually able to hide how she is feeling. She handles herself well and respectfully at social outings. Though quite slight and not at all athletic looking, Cordy has immense stamina and can walk and/or run for a good distance if needed. Due to her Leyline, she has sharp ears and an even sharper gaze, though more recently she has made attempts to abstain from using such abilities in public. Finally, Cordy has a fantastic memory and retains information quickly.
Weaknessesβ β¦
Cordy is rather terrible at fixing or attempting to reconcile relationships where conflict has taken place. Her natural instinct is to flee and then to avoid any opportunity that would result in further disagreement. She also becomes frustrated and angry quite easily, usually when others pressure something that she disagrees with. She can usually tell when someone is trying to manipulate her or persuade her, and though her mother has told her countless times to retain control and let it roll off the soldier, Cordy has always been a more emotional person.

Cordy rises early and always opens the windows in her room. She tends to absentmindedly wring her fingers and hands when in conversation which is why her mother always told her to carry a book. When in deep thought or doing a task such as practicing drawing or needlework, she tends to hum to herself. Cordy has a habit of always taking a different route when taking her walks (she normally goes once a day).
Goalsβ β¦
Cordy wants to please her parents as well as live up to the reputation of the Wren name. She does not realize it at first, but Cordy will come to a point where she will agree to anything to uphold the family standing. She never had a chance to honor her Leyline, and a part of her blames herself for her sister's disappearance. She thinks if she had been there, she could have changed things. Now, she will take any chance to honor her sister and her family.

The great Wren family has been present in Europe for ages, stretching to the west when the New World was discovered. Initially, when the Leyline evolved into the avian transfiguration it is known for today, the family was blackmailed into service for royals and nobles alike, all for the same reason: information. Forced to become spies for anything a blackmailer desired, the name Wren slowly grew in its reputation and desire for anybody who wanted the upper hand. What began as the collection of mere gossip and house drama, soon turned to political intrigue. It was then that many Wrens began to disappear and they knew it was time to make a change.
Before the Hundred Years' War, the Wren family instituted contracts that would protect not only their lives, but also their reputation. This led to a life that was drastically divided into two: one part of espionage and secrecy, and the other of great reputation and sway within the noble society. It would never be outright spoken of by any of the Wrens, but their presence behind the curtains of great political and social events was well known. How, when and where, though, would never be known. Though the Wren family is well established and their reputation is great, it is well known that they keep their cards close to their chests and their secrets even closer. Upbringingβ β¦
Cordy grew up in a country estate in Russia. Her mother, Tatiana, had grown up there since their direct line of Wrens were active during the Great Northern War. It was a quiet upbringing, filled with tutoring and the two sisters adventuring in the outdoors when they could. Their father, Arthur, traveled quite a bit, so the girls were at the estate with the governess and the staff most of the time. After Cordy had completed her transformation training, Arthur was quite persistent on moving the family to Elyria, partially for business and partially to present his daughters to the Elyrian society. Russia was quiet enough, and so Tatiana relented and the family made the move to Delmare. Cordy was presented into society at the start of a season when she was nineteen. Georgianna was twenty-two.
When the Rayan Coast Campaign began, the need for Wrens grew rapidly. Cordy fought to be involved, but eventually only Georgianna was allowed due to experience she gleaned from shadowing her mother in Russia. Because the Campaign was so violent, Cordy was hindered from shadowing her mother or sister, therefore she never properly learned how to spy when transformed. Weeks after the end of the Campaign, when the politics were barely beginning to settle and lose ends were being dealt with, Georgianna disappeared. It wasn't uncommon for such a thing to happen during times of war, but Cordy's mother, distraught, claimed it a horrible accident. Perhaps a predator had gotten to her. It was unwise for a Wren to claim assassination. It usually only brought more death. Having only been in Delmare three years, two of them war ridden, Arthur moved his wife and remaining daughter to the English countryside so they could work out their grief without watching eyes or quiet whispers following them.

Cordy is apprehensive of the move to Delmare. The last time she was there, she had her sister by her side. Now, she must face the season and society on her own. Both her parents wish her to marry. Whether it's because they want her to return to how she was before Georgianna, or to simply keep a good standing in society, she wouldn't know or even hope to guess. Currently, Cordy is apathetic to the idea of marriage. She finds herself apathetic to most things.

Avian Transfigurationβ β¦
This leyline manifests during the late teen years, though there can be some small signs at a younger age. Because it takes great energy and focus to actually transform, most Wrens do not let their children attempt the ability until the age of eighteen. Aside from the actual transformation, the abilities of heightened sight and hearing are also present. An inheritor of the Leyline, usually a female, has a small probability of being able to transform into an actual Wren bird. This is considered great luck and honor within the Wren lineage.
When transforming for the first time, it is a slow and painful process, that requires great energy. Everything from the bones to the tissue of the body must change shape, density, and color. The first transformation usually takes hours, and there are some records of it taking days. There are even rumors that some never lived through the first transformation, or achieved the great feat but didn't have the energy to change back, therefore slowly fading and remaining the creature forever. When an inheritor transforms once and then returns to their human form, they are then trained to do it again and again, before the process is quick, happening in a matter of seconds. But the pain never gets better. It is important to note that when one transforms, they leave all external pieces behind, such as jewelry and clothing. They transform back into human form in the nude, and must therefore always plan for a safe rendezvous point to do so.
Cordy transformed into a Sparrow at the age of eighteen. It was an eight-hour endeavor and the most excruciating moments of her life. Before that, she had a keen sense of hearing which manifested at the age of eight. Of course, as a child, she used that to her advantage and was an endearing annoyance to her family. After two months of consistent transforming, Cordy was able to do it in under five seconds. It was an excruciating five seconds, but the minute one transforms there is no residue of the pain. Her parents were proud of such an achievement, but were hesitant to allow her to use her Leyline for the family work.

Reputationβ β¦
Simply from being a Wren, most are usually apprehensive. But Cordy was active in society for three years beforehand, so anyone who knew her from then would have a differing view of her. More prominently, it would be known of Georgianna's disappearance and therefore incite rumors of the family dealings. Many would grant their condolences, but also burning with curiosity.
Rumorsβ β¦
As a Wren, an air of apprehensiveness follows Cordy around in whispers. When Georgianna disappeared, they were at their darkest. Some say that Cordy and her family know what happened, but that they will never say and only wish to cover it up so the whole story can be forgotten. The more malicious rumors depict that they are the reason Georgianna disappeared, or perhaps disposed of her because Georgianna discovered something. Cordy hates this one in particular, because not only is it far from true, but it makes her question over and over why Georgianna disappeared in the first place.
