General disclaimer! I do not own any of this stuff, except the names, and ideas! The pictures and music belong to all the lovely people who created them who I discovered on Google Search. The music was found on Spotify. On another note, the songs are more for the vibe of the character!)

History: No great love story existed between Joulric and his wife. Promised to each other before they were even born, the two elves grew knowing there would be no way around their betrothal, nor did Joulric want to. His position as Astia’s husband made him king, gave him the power that his father envied until the day Joulric murdered him; his first act as king of Maravia.
Astia feared her husband more than she that was approaching her kingdom’s door. For over a century, Maravia battled with their neighbors, a struggle over land, a war over culture, and a grab for more power from both kings. Despite being the true heir to the throne, her husband took complete control once they married. He murdered her parents, his father, and anyone who tried to stand against him. Rather than risk sacrificing herself and leaving her people completely at her husband’s mercy, Astia obeyed her husband as their custom demanded, all while secretly aiding those who rebelled against the usurper king.
Windalyn was born five years into their marriage. Astia would carry seven more children during her tumultuous marriage to Joulric. None would live to see their first breath. Joulric could not risk having a son, fearful that any male heir would rise up against him when they came of age. Windy would remain his only legitimate child, although she would have dozens of bastard siblings who would never be acknowledged by either of her parents.
Windy grew up preparing for war. She learned how to fight, how to defend herself, but more importantly, she learned that there were forces in the world more diabolical than her father. As the war began to approach their front door, the people of Maravia grew tired of fighting, both the war outside and the war within coming from their own king. Like her mother, Windy did what she could to aid her people without her father catching on. Or so she thought.
Caught freeing prisoners from one of her father’s encampments, Windalyn was locked away in the dungeons, forced to watch her father abuse her mother as punishment for her actions. Several times Astia nearly succumbed to the beatings, only spared by Joulric’s healers to maintain his control over Windalyn.
But soon, Joulric realized his daughter could become useful to him without her compliance. All he needed was a drop of blood from his enemy’s ruler and he could force a bond between his unruly daughter and the bane of his existence. Windalyn became something of a trojan horse, sent off to her enemy bound to their ruler, with all the knowledge of Maravia in her mind. Nature would take its course with his enemy doing the dirty work of ending his daughter’s life.
