Hello, Sanctum!
A tabletop wanderer discovering the wonderful world of forum roleplaying
A tabletop wanderer discovering the wonderful world of forum roleplaying
Hi everyone!
I’m Sawyer, and I’m really happy to have stumbled upon your little community of writers.
I’ve been playing tabletop RPGs for quite a few years now, and I’ve had plenty of time to wear out my notoriously unlucky dice across all sorts of universes: Warhammer, Call of Cthulhu, Dungeons & Dragons, and plenty of others.
I even ended up creating my own little universe with some friends, this time from behind the screen as the GM. I had them playing a team of monster hunters in a setting that happily mixed influences from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Supernatural and The X-Files.
Needless to say, there were probably far too many things lurking in dark basements waiting to murder my players.

A few months ago, a friend introduced me to forum roleplaying. Since then, I’ve been wandering around the internet looking for new stories and new people to write with.
Along the way, I’ve discovered that I absolutely love collaborative writing, whether it’s with one partner or several. There’s something really fun about creating characters and stories together and never being entirely sure where they’ll end up.
As for my writing style:
I usually write in the third person, with replies averaging around four or five paragraphs, though I’m pretty comfortable adapting to my partner’s pace and post length.
I generally reply several times a week.
I also have ADHD, which sometimes results in a very simple system:
“Oh, there’s a reply! I’ll answer that right away!”
…or my brain mysteriously decides that reply never existed.
…or my brain mysteriously decides that reply never existed.
So if I ever seem to have forgotten about you, please don’t hesitate to give me a little nudge through PMs. My partner already spends a good portion of her life reminding me about things I’m supposed to be doing, so you’ll be in excellent company.
I’m looking forward to discovering the community, your worlds, your characters and, hopefully, getting to know some of you through the stories we’ll create together.
Looking forward to writing with you!
Sawyer
