Alrighty, the forum has a built in BBCode Die Roller. It's not a great die rollerm, but it's perfectly suitable. Based on my testing you can use one set of dice bbcode per post, and that code will roll multiple dice, but won't accept modifiers.

Here's my suggestion for combat posts where die rolls are a factor. Create a post with a brief description of what the character intends and the relevant die bbcode. Post it and see what dice you got. Then, Edit that same post to add in more elaboration on how the round went. I'll go ahead and give all the enemy's defenses ahead of time so you know your target numbers. Hell, I may give you enemy hit points, so you can narrate your own righteous victories.

So, how would that look? The next post will be an example.

Ularia stabs a fool.
Melee +5 vs AC : 2d8+3 : 2
Code:
[dice]d20;2d8[/dice]
[dice]d20;2d8[/dice]

After the the 5th human today tried to pat her backside as she walked by, Ularia was beyond fed up. Whipping out her sword with the rasping hiss of steel on leather, she flicked the blade across his throat, leaving a shallow gash that wept blood, but could have been so much worse. "The next one of you degenerates that as much as touches me gets beheaded!"

Disclaimer: The Ularia depicted in this scenario is used for demonstration purposes only and should not be taken as an example of whom Ularia is or how she would behave.

There may be even more editing involved, since all the occultist spells are interupts.....lol. so unless she is doing a straight base attack, there will likely be interupts during other people's turns (or the enemy's turn)

For Ohanna's Beast Form Attack, I would have to pre-roll the damage for both Even and Odd results as it calls for a different dice. Also on a miss she gets to 'Repeat the attack against the same or a different target' so just in case the first attack is a miss, she would then have to pre-roll the second attack along with, once again both the Even and Odd damage dice...?

I'm thinking with the Occultist, you're going to post on your turn setting up the interrupt /and/ rolling for the effects of said interrupt. Then depending on what interrupt you set up, I'll coordinate with you on the enemy's turn.

Speaking of enemy turns, I may roll for them offline and just post the results depending on the number of foes. The die roller's structure makes juggling a lot of enemies really unwieldy.

Beast form is a bit of a beast with this die roller. Hmmm, let's test the full routine and see how it works.

Beast Form Attack: +5 Vs AC; Even - 2d10+3, Odd 2d6+3; Miss; Repeat attack vs. another target
Code:
[dice]d20;2d10;2d6;d20;2d10;2d6[/dice]
[dice]d20;2d10;2d6;d20;2d10;2d6[/dice]

Sadly, interupts can't really be "set up" since they are in ditect response to what enemies and allies roll. So regardless of character post order, the occultist can jump in whenever. That is the problem.

This would work, it's a lot of dice, but I can understand it. That's the important part. So after the dice roll I would edit the post and describe the result of the attack using the dice results as the baseline.

But yeah, I will give you a list of what powers are triggered by what rolls, so you can just let me know if during a combat any of those apply during an enemy attack.

Also, interupts can happen as a result of an ally's roll as well. So people are -really, really- going to have to pay attention to my combat posts. I will post any mechanics shit in a spoiler in my post.

I know at least one of the abilities gives someone an extra attack immediately (rather than on their turn).

So, something that will make dice rolling a little less unwieldy. I tend to use average damage for monsters. If you folks want to use average damage as well, I will give a bit of an incentive.

Instead of rolling each individual die, you can always take 1/2 the die rounded up. So, instead of the above Beast Attack, your 'averaged' Beast attack would do 6 pts for every d10 or 4 points for every d6.

Beast Form Attack: +5 Vs AC; Damage: Even - 15, Odd 11; Miss; Repeat attack vs. another target
Code:
[dice] 2d20[/dice]
[dice] 2d20[/dice]

Because I keep rolling a 20 for that second Beast Attack, let me point out that a natural 20 is a critical hit. Critical hits inflict double damage.

I don't use critical misses, but feel free to describe your natural ones as you see fit.

It would be convenient to just use the average for damage, rather than roll everything out. I'll have to consider it though I am a fan of rolling. Rolling allows you differentiate between a paper cut and grievous wound rather than an average would every time.
