Both Needed Web-heads and Spider-Fans Wanted (Two Spots Open!)

Well I have to warm you that I kinda like to do things over the top before I tell you about her is that ok as long as I don't go too overboard?

Well she goes by the name of Web Warper but her name is Rosemary Gearz, daughter of Gort Gearz a technological genius responsible for bounds and leaps in medical tech and labor tech like exo suits to help minors and firefighters.

Following in her father's footsteps she went into tech as well and wound working for a largely unknown tech company that kind of flew under the radar and did a lot of shady shit. They were trying to create a teleporter and things were going well but they skipped animal trials and went right to human trials. Being a brave fool Rose(or Pipsy as she likes to be called) volenteered. When the machine was activated she found herself in a black space surrounded by stars and galaxies standing before a massive Eldritch thing vaguely in the shape of a spider. It didn't like Intruders so it coated her in small spiders just as strange as it was and when they dispursed all that's as left was a purple and green spider.

Everything went black and when Pipsy woke up she was locked in a plastic spider cage. The scientist kept her for thirty years and during this time she learned of strange abilities. She could bend and warp reality around her body. Honing this skill she was able to become human again but thirty years had passed and she seemingly vanished. Making her way to New York she heard the legends of the original spider-man and then she was approached by a strange woman who called herself Web Weaver.

This is just what her suit looks like also this art is not mine

*leans back in her DM chair, swirls the mountain dew in her tankard, which was previously a stein*

Hmmmm ... there are a few things we have to tweak a tad. For one thing, everyone gets pretty much the same set of powers, as listed in the second post. You do get a unique ability themed to your character, but I think "reality manipulation" might be a little heavy to just kind of tack on.

There's also a bit in there about the characters only recently developing their powers, and still not being entirely used to them, so having mastered them to the point of shapeshifting puts her at an unfair advantage over the other characters.

There's also a wee element of stepping on toes, as Rosemary and Morgan have veeeeery similar backgrounds. I don't mind a few similarities, but like ... if "My parents were rich, but shady, medical technology moguls and I'm now also a tech-genius" was the hint, you would not be able to guess if I meant Morgan or Rosemary.

Also, just as a note to everyone, I've mentioned a few times now that the RP is part centred around the hardships of being a hero AND a real person.

Anyway, I love the mystical element, and hope this didn't drive you off ^_^

Well she doesn't really have the ability to shape shift and she can only manipulate reality about an inch away from her body, she uses it to hide her identity and fit into her suit as Pipsy is a large young woman. She can change the length and Cor of her hair and also the size of her body only able to shave about two feet from her total hieght and shrink her body mass. She can also manipulate reality at the tip of her webs which are standard web fluid this doesn't mean she can change anything she wants since she doesn't really know how to use the power she usually just puts the corner of a building at the tip of the web allowing her to swing just about anywhere.

While he smaller size of 4'11 for make her more agile she doesn't have the strength of your typical web head and he spider sense is very strong as it's effected by the Earth's natural maginitism, this doesn't mean she can detect any and everything. It just means her spider sense often gives her a headache.

In any case, web Warper seems a bit too out there for this. I read the post and I'm thinking Spider-Punk might be more your speed.

Spider-Punk or James Tyler isn't technically a web head as he doesn't have any of that Webby goodness in his DNA, instead all of his "powers" comes from tech he invented himself. I guess his only real power is super human intelligence.

He's the son of Diana Tyler and the very abusive very alcoholic Howard Stark(yes the son of Tony from that one universe we don't talk about.) Howard killed Diana in a drunken rage and when he ultimately bought his way out of a a life time sentence he took custody of James and threw him into the foster system hoping he would get lost or just die but Diana's parents Margret and Benjamin adopted James and raised him.

James was a very angry young man and at a young age joined a gang called the Wall Shadows and to become a full fledge member of the gang he had to rob a convinent store. The robbery was going smooth until his grandpa Ben showed up(Benjamin is a cop by the way) there was shooting but only James'bullet hit it's target killing Ben, it was then he turned his life around taking on the mantle of Spider-Punk in hopes to possibly keep more people from dying to senseless gang violence.

*rubs forehead, peers down at the last few drops of mountain dew in her DM mug, sets the empty vessel back onto the table.*

Oooh ... oooh noooo ... Web Weaver's still reeeeeeally OP. I get the like ... inch from the skin and tips of the webs thing, but that still means Pipsy is functionally invulnerable, and 1) can cover anything she wants in webs and then 2) manipulate the reality that the tips of her webs are touching to 3) virtually have her power affect anything she wants.

As for Spider-Punk ... *takes Jimbrial's hand* ... I don't understand ...

So, He's Howard Stark's biological son (making him this reality's Tony) and the hypothetical heir to Stark Industries (hypothetically, you'd have to confirm or deny that being your intention, because currently there is no Stark Industries), which is why he's got all this cool tech, which he's kind of a genius with, despite ditching school at a young age to be in a gang, while being raised by non-tech-genius grandparents that he isn't stated as hating or having any problem with, one of whom is still an active beat cop at like ... 60-70 years old, and walks into an active-fire situation alone, and starts firing on his own like ... son/grandson without warning ... or just open fire wildly into an open store with one robber in it without a word, and is then shot and killed by James, who suffers no consequences, and must have shot him in the neck or face but didn't, like, SEE his face, and ... I just ...

(T^T ) HELP ME UNDERSTAAAAAAND ( T^T)

Like ... it just feels to me like a blender full of Marvel references and edge with nothing connecting the bones ...

It would take a while to explain web Weaver's weaknesses and limitations so I'm just going to take her off the table.

James isn't really the heir because Howard is still alive and he really wouldn't let his illegitimate son take over his father's company.

James invented his own tech and didn't get it from stark industries.

These are characters I've already set up for my own web slinging adventures and I'm thinking I should just go with your template but there doesn't seem to be any wiggle room for anything that excites me. Everyone having the same old spider powers just seems kind of stale to me unless that's not the case.

Just let me know what you're looking for and I'll try to make a character around that.

I'm gonna have a crack at explaining this. @Cheshire Cat correct me if I'm wrong.

@Jimbrial Innocent Our characters aren't exactly known as "Spider-Men" yet. They are just starting out. Struggling to control their powers. Which at the moment are pretty limited to basic spider powers, with a few exceptions. The wiggle room comes from their origin, which will influence how they progress.
As I've seen stated, we are very much sneakers and hoodies. None of our characters know what is going on really.
Extra powers should keep you on a "Friendly Neighbourhood" level though. Especially now, at the start.
Feel free to come up with whatever origin you want, as it will influence powers you can develop LATER. For example, my character is a WereSpider. For now he is a regular human, that turns into a human/spider hybrid that has Spider-Man's basic powers. Later he might develop the ability to change into a swarm of spiders, or start getting Spider-Man powers in his human form, but will come LATER.
We're looking for people at the start of their hero's journey.

Everyone has a flavour power; Victoria's healing is boosted compared to the others, Frank is essentially Man-Spider, Cheng has healing venom, Morgan has tech to modify her power suit so long as she has the time and supplies, and Emilio has venom-vom. Characters are spider-heroes ... they can't be wildly different, that would be a different RP, but each character has some kind of specific ability that makes them a little different. What Web Weaver had was an arsenal of buffs; Reality manipulation, shape shifting, metacreativity, boosted spider sense ... it's a little bit Squirrel-Girl-Meets-Avengers-East, y'know? Why did the others bother quitting their day jobs?

Spider-Punk, on the other hand, is just ... when I read his backstory, all I'm left with is confusion. Things don't make sense. Morgan's parents were geniuses who loved her, and gave her access to the best schooling in private. That's why she's a tech genius. Cheng was given a witch-lady's spider cure, that's why he can heal people with venom. Victoria was given a gene therapy treatment to heal her body, and now she has the best healing factor of the group. Emilio was bitten by a regular ol' spider irradiated in a lab, now he can do ... gross ... vomit things. Frank is Australian, now he's hairy and leaves white residue everywhere ... like, it just makes sense. I can't do that with Spider-Punk.

I'm like, he's a tech genius because ... Dad? nope, disowned. Mom? Nope, dead. Spent youth studying? Newp, spent youth in street gangs. Mentor? Newp, closest thing was an elderly street cop whom he accidentally shot. Hookup of some kind? Nope, father apparently hates him.

@Sanity43217 Yus! Yus! This! See, why can't I explain it that succinctly >,<

I get it, no Web Warper.

I'll just go with James and start him off when get gets out of prison, he'll be eighteen by then having served five years.

Actually no I think I'll just make someone up And see how well they work out. No reason in throwing in one of my characters if I can't properly explain their background. Alright ready when you are.

I've been thinking about it, and I'm not gonna do the thing where Morgan's "strikes out on her own," independent from the team. That was kind of stemming from the idea of being a villain, and since I'm not doing that, may as well toss it. I'm happy to take on more of a sidekick role at first.

Also, if we're gonna have even more developed "powers" later, I better get to thinking. Maybe that feature of Iron Man's nanotech suit, where his gauntlets and legs can reform themselves into weapons.

Ooh, very symbiote inspired. There's also shrinking like ant man, phasing like ... that other ant-man villain, but also live vision. There's invisibility, expandable shielding ... oooh, metal spider limbs that pop out of your back, eeeeeeh?

I've gotta keep myself in check, it's too easy to just keep adding stuff.

Base suit would give Morgan her bonus to strength and physical resistance, like normal armor would. Web shooters would replace the organic version, and the technological answer to spidey-vision would be... Maybe some sort of hypersensitive vibration sensors. I put "suit compatibility" down as her special thing, but maybe that doesn't make much sense. The only advantage I could think of would be being able to like, have her suit come out of her cybernetic spine to have it ready at all times.

Spider limbs would be a good fix for that way later in the game.

@CasualAdventurer I'm sorry, I totally fell asleep before reading your IC post >,< I'munna read it right after this.

Yeah, suit does strength and physical resistance, web shooters for webs, some kind of ... extendable micro-filament fibre pads that give you wall-crawling, maybe some kind of built-in AI with a rig that senses changes in the air around her, like ... a microphone for movement, and have it able to engage automatic dodge motions through her spine. Built-in injection pump for the healing, spine for speed and agility ... I've probably missed a few, but you get the idea.

I think Tech is really her unique power. Like, as she gets to build things, and experiment, she learns to build better and more amazing things. Things that allow for all kinds of effects. New technology is changing and evolving every day, and Morgan keeps developing her knowledge base to make things as impressive as any power. It's like ... being a warlock vs being a wizard in D&D.

I'm still in. Just waiting to get back to my computer to make a post. Just not super great at formatting on my phone.
