Name: Anubis
Age: 5,167 Years; Immortal
Gender: Male
Parents: Set (father), Nepthys (mother); Osiris (uncle/adoptive father)
Siblings: Wepwawet (brother)
Consorts: Anput, Nepthys (mother)
Offspring: Kebechet
Appearance: Anubis has three natural forms; his god form, an all human form, and jackal form. In ancient times, Anubis took the form he was given at birth from his parents; this form was as a black jackal-headed man of 9'4" in stature but with a lithe muscular body of medium build and black skin, long bushy tail, and yellow eyes. Anubis also wore a blue and gold coif that extended from his ears to his neck in this form as well, it is also how he is commonly depicted. Since the fall of Ancient Egypt, Anubis is sometimes seen in this form, though this is now mostly in writings and art of modern man.
With the modern era, Anubis has taken on the appearance of an Egyptian Arab, highly appropriate considering where he and his fellow Gods were once residing and worshiped.
His new form is now of 6'1' (185 cm), weighing 185 lbs (83.9 kg) with an athletic build. He has curly black hair and his eyes are dark brown. Sometimes he has a beard and mustache, other times he is clean shaven but his beard is always neatly groomed. When he desires to, he grows his hair out until it falls to the middle of his back and is often worn in a bun on the back of his head, in a topknot, a ponytail or braided, or just hanging loose. His skin is a light brown color and he speaks Arabic, French and English with a deep baritone voice. Anubis tends to wear fine clothing that is loose and comfortable with boots mostly, he even has a pair of crocodile skin boots. Anubis often has a flail in the shape of a staff, made of heavy bronze covered with alternating stripes of blue glass, obsidian and gold with gilded wooden beads and sometimes a fetish, both the fetish and flail being his symbols.
In the past, Anubis has also appeared as a black jackal with sleek fur and graceful build, wearing a golden collar and having yellow eyes; though he has not taken this form in centuries.
Personality: As god of embalming and the dead, Anubis tends to be independent and sometimes helpful, but can also punish humans. From the earliest years of the Egyptian dynasty, Anubis had two main cult centers in Lycopolos (now known as Asyut) and Cynopolis (now known as Hardai) but was worshiped all over. As a patron of lost souls, including orphans, Anubis takes his duty seriously even if he is thought of as a myth, by guiding souls of the dead to where they need to be and watching over orphans. He is known to step in and protect them from those who would wish them harm. He is out of touch with many modern customs and rituals. Anubis also has a habit of tilting his head when curious or confused, making himself seem dog-like. He's often seen in the company of ravens and jackals and treasures these creatures beyond all measure. As a protector of tombs, graveyards and cemeteries; really anything related to the deceased with him being guardian of the dead, Anubis has been known to and will punish and even kill tomb raiders...it's his work when tomb raiders died in the past after robbing the tombs of ancient artifacts. Anubis is a good fighter, given who his parents are and has a penchant for collecting gold and gemstones. Anubis isn't a big talker and appears more focused on events within the spirit realm than the mortal one. He hates his cousin Horus and often scowls at the other god when they have to meet. In the past, he's been the captain of Ra's personal guard. Because of this, Anubis is a bit arrogant and a military strategist/tactician. He's quite ruthless when others try to hinder his godly duties or he's attacked, showing no mercy at all to his enemies.
