ALWAYS ACCEPTING. EVEN AFTER WE START, WE WILL ALWAYS ACCEPT NEW PEOPLE. Don't be shy, come on in.

This game will be fairly sandbox, which means that there really isn't too much of a rush to post… we're all adults with super busy demanding lives, so being able to post every single day or even several times a day isn't very realistic for a lot of us. We want our players to feel comfortable, welcome and at ease.

I may introduce events though every now and then, perhaps like a Halloween festival or something like that. We'll see.

When humans dream, fantasize or talk about a fairytale, a folktale and etc… the subject gains a essence referred to as 'The Glow', this essence preserves them to an almost immortal state and keeps their stories alive. This may seems like nothing, but humans need to dream in order to survive, the continued survival of their stories and fables is nourishment to the humans souls.

It is the perfect Symbiotic relationship.

So when an eldritch found a way to begin breaking its way into the realm of fairytales and fables in order to steal the power of 'The Glow' from the realms inhabitants, which would in turn kill them and like a horrible domino effect, humans too would begin to suffer… the great sorcerer Merlin knew he had to act before it was too late…

He knew he was no match for a cosmic eldritch being head on, but he could most certainly relocate everyone to a place where they would be safe… indefinitely most likely, after he'd put up all the necessary defenses in anticipation of an eldritch being.

Casting the most powerful translocation spell within his spellbook, Merlin took all of the fairytale and fable folks to the realm of mortals… the human world… he constructed a city where all of them could live comfortably as they were, adjusting to the modern times, but not taking exhausting measures to hide themselves. Enchantments in place would control the appearance of something 'unusual' to humans if any happened to have been passing through.

This city has been officially dubbed as Lumen, in honor of 'The Glow' that makes each and every one of them so special.

Everyone has gotten accustomed to the new surroundings over the years and accepted that their former home is no more, consumed by the eldritch being… but this home, this home is here and they have a future again.

We will accept Disney figures, Grimm Brothers Figures and figures and/or creatures from folklore all around the world. For non-humanoid looking creatures, please see rule #3 below.

Below I have included some what I would call lesser known but still very interesting creatures of our vast worlds folklore, if you'd like to go the folklore route. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO USE THESE, they are just here to be helpful or simply interesting.

Certain characters from Disney films we might need to hash out together, like Hades as an example. A Greek God could be a little bit broken.

Characters of proper age to have had adult children, people may apply to play their offspring. First come, first serve. Any siblings must be approved by the person who applied first.

Rules of this Story:
1) Follow Sanctum rules.
2) Let's treat each other with kindness, patience and respect
3) Do not pester people to post. Anyone being harassed is encourage to tell me... or staff, if the behavior makes that feel necessary.
4) Any and all non-humanoid characters will be transformed into a human, but will retain any magical, supernatural and/or psychic abilities they had in their original forms.
5) NSFW sections must be put into spoiler.
6) For fairytales and etc that had key figures as married or a couple, it would be considerate to all players to come up with a reason why you are single or never met them. It would be unfair to force other players to be in a relationship with another person's character if they do not want to be. If someone has an originally married character on the roster, you are free to discuss with them linking up your characters, but they not obligated to agree.
7) No one is allowed to post to the In Game thread until their character been approved by ME and they are officially added to the roster.

There is no limit to slots, I can add another table if all ten slots get filled up, so don't worry.

Snow White was very young when her father remarried, but she got on fabulously with her new stepmother, who unfortunately could have no children of her own… the two became as close as if they truly were blood bonded mother and daughter.

That bond would turn out to be the saving grace for both Snow White and her stepmother in the worst thing that could happen to a family… Snow White's father rode out with his men to intercept a band of roving bandits that had been tormenting the local farmers via stealing their produce, their livestock and even abducting a few daughters of the various families.

Snow White's father always felt it was important that his people knew they were important to him and when they needed him, he himself would be there to protect them.

While the bandits were dealt with and the stolen girls were retrieved unharmed… the king was not so lucky, he was fatally wounded and succumbed to his injuries on the battlefield.

Snow White and her stepmother were distraught, but they thankfully had each other to turn to for love, strength and support. They spent many hours together in the rose gardens that the king planted for the two most important women in his life as he felt his daughter and her stepmother needed a beautiful place to enjoy their tea and little cakes… and they made sure to do this often in his absence, honoring him with every cup of tea poured.

One day, a stranger arrived at the castle, nobleborn from the looks of him and his carriage, but no one in the castle recognized him… he claimed he was on a journey to return home to his family far to the North after traveling far and wide to seek exotic treasures, but he was weary and sought a safe and comfortable place to lay down his head for the night… if they gave him this, he would give the queen a beautiful six foot tall mirror held in a frame of gold filigree.

The queen thought it couldn't hurt to allow the man a place to rest for the night before he continued on his journey, so she accepted his gift and had a guest room given to him for the night.

The next morning, the stranger whom had called himself simply Augustus, had completely vanished along with his carriage. No one had seen him depart and no one could explain how the carriage and horses just up and vanished from the stables. It was a mystery.

Days passed and the queen had the mirror the odd stranger had given her placed on the wall in her chambers… one morning she stood before it, admiring a new dress and she heard a whispering voice 'Beautiful… so beautiful…'

The queen was frightened at first and then spoke "hello?"

Over the course of the next few weeks, the queen enjoyed the compliments the mirror paid her, no matter the strange eerie face that floated within semi transparent… she never told anyone the mirror was magical and began draping a silk over it whenever she wasn't in the room. Removing it was made a strict taboo.

She had never felt so good about herself since the death of her darling husband, she felt so beautiful.

One day the queen stood before the mirror and asked the eerie face within "Mirror, Mirror, on the wall… who is the fairest of them all?"

The mirror replied "My Queen, tis thee, that is fairest to see"

This pleased the queen… perhaps too much… she hadn't realized that the more and more she talked to the mirror and listened to it's compliments… a black stain growing on her heart, she began caring more and more about how beautiful she was and that everyone else agreed with that. She had even arranged a marriage for a beautiful daughter of a nobleman to another noble in the next country over, removing her from being competition within her own court for the fairest of them all. No one would surpass her, no one.

For years, the queen was quite satisfied and only ever asked the mirror little miniscule questions… it was surprisingly very knowledgeable about a great many things… then Snow White's eighteenth birthday arrived and throughout the grand party of her darling stepdaughter, guest complimented the young princess up and down about how beautiful she had become, both inside and out, they talked about how proud her father would be and so on and so forth.

It troubled the queen how much this bothered her… she got plenty of attention the majority of the time, why wasn't she happy to see Snow White so celebrated on birthday?

The night after the party, the queen went to her mirror to comfort and reassure herself that she worried about nothing, she asked the mirror the same as she did years ago "Mirror, Mirror, on the wall… who is the fairest of them all?"

The mirror replied "My beautiful queen is fair to see, but Snow White is far fairer than thee"

Rage bloomed within the queen… she was surpassed? By her own stepdaughter? An irrational sting of betrayal pricked at her heart… how could Snow White do this to her?!

As the night went on, the rage boiled and grew… she was supposed to be the fairest of the all, she deserved it, she had endured and lost so much, surely this one thing wasn't too much to ask for… but Snow White, she had to go and steal it from her! Backstabbing little bitch!

However… if Snow White were to… have an accident…

She thought about the farmer's daughter to the South, how beautiful she was becoming… and the apples her family's orchard was so popular for… and an idea began to form in her head… a way to deal with two… with just one apple…

The queen ordered a basket of apples retrieved from the orchard and demanded they be specifically chosen by the daughter of the farmer… when the apples were delivered to the queen for a 'mother daughter lunch', the queen took one of the apples… a beautiful ruby red apple that resembled the hue of Snow White's lips… and injected it with a poison…

The queen then had all of Snow White's favorite lunch choices prepared and once a beautiful table was set in their lovely rose garden, the queen summoned her stepdaughter to join her.

Unaware anything was amiss, Snow White greeted her stepmother warmly and lovingly, sitting down to enjoy what she believed would be a heartwarming afternoon with her stepmother…

"Try the apples, darling, they are from the Waldeck orchard… I've heard they are simply divine, truly the juiciest and sweetest, so I decided we just had to try some and see for ourselves if it is true…" The queen enthused brightly "Here, let me pick you a beautiful one"

The queen selected the apple she had poisoned and placed it in front of Snow White "Take a bite, I absolutely must know what you think"

Snow White nodded joyfuily and picked it up, she took a good bite and chewed, mmm'ing at the sweet juiciness of it… and then came an odd taste… followed by overwhelming dizziness… and her breath began to catch, it was becoming more and more difficult to breathe…

"Stepmother… something is wrong… help me…" Snow White pleaded, rising from her seat unsteadily before collapsing to the ground, barely conscious.

The queen rose from her seat and looked down at Snow White laying there on the grass… and then smiled evilly "Close your eyes now Snow White… and I will once again be the fairest of them all…"

Confused, Snow White felt herself slipping further and further into unconsciousness, everything was fading… until it all went black…

The queen then released a shrill horrified shriek, which summoned several guards into the garden.

The daughter of the farmer was then accused of deliberately attempting to kill the queen and accidentally killing Snow White instead… the girl was sentenced to death and hung…

Snow White was then laid to rest in the family crypt… only for her coffin to missing days later…

In truth… the guardians of the mirror had been tracking the thief of the cursed artifact… the felt the cursed energy of it and followed that to the castle…

They learned from the peasants about the loss of their beloved princess and how strange it was, that the farmer's daughter had never met the queen or the princess, so why would she try to kill either one?

The dwarves investigated the crypt on a hunch… they felt residual energy of the cursed mirror lingering around the princess… the poor beautiful young girl who had done nothing to deserve her fate… so when they discovered that she was in fact not dead, but in a death-like sleep… they took the princess and used ancient dwarven medicine to revive her.

Snow White, safe in the forest with the dwarves, told them everything about the strange nobleman and the mirror he brought, then about what happened in the garden… they instructed her to remain in the safety of their cottage, while they worked to retreive the cursed mirror and bury it once more.

Snow White pleaded with them to save her stepmother from the mirror, since it was clear the mirror had done this to her… the dwarves sadly told the princess that the damage was done and the queen could not be helped.

Heartbroken and knowing she could never return home, Snow White tried her best to comfort herself with learning about the forest and its animal inhabitants, many of whom seemed to take to Snow White exceptionally well.

Now, within the city of Lumen, Snow White… or Rosalyn as she has chosen as a modern name… used the four years since arriving to attend the local Lumen college to become a veterinarian.

FAIRYTALE
Heng Yang, otherwise known as The Jiangshi

577bbb91ff717510e2d29816dd35fb61.jpg

Age:
Actual-
400
Appears- 21
Gender: (He, Him)
Sexuality: heterosexual

Personality Points
Refined / Charismatic / Manipulative / Devious / Selfish / Greedy / Jealous type / Highly Intelligent / Seductive / Dominant / Loyal (romantically) / Confident / Cold

Occupation/Job:
Alternative model

Powers:

Mesmerizing gaze:

Heng can gaze into an individual's eyes and do a number of things, such as~ Alter memories going back as long as an hour, plant suggestions, place weaker minded individuals under his control (sometimes without their knowledge, think sleeper agent) and compel individuals to sleep.

Those with a strong and disciplined mind have higher chances of pushing Heng out of their heads.

Spiderwalk:

Heng has the ability to walk on walls and ceilings as easily as he would walk down a street.

Levitation:

Heng can levitate himself (upright or upside down) up to 30 feet high into the air.

Physical:

As a Jiangshi, Heng is much stronger and faster than a mortal individual.

Talents/Hobbies/Skills:

Languages- Heng is fascinated by languages… Over the four years he's been in Lumen, Heng has learned English, Spanish, German, Irish Gaelic, Russian and French. He is working on Japanese, Korean and Hindi.

Classic literature- Heng is particularly fond of first editions.

Fashion- Heng is exceptionally good and nailing down the ideal clothing style, colors and make up for nearly any individual… Merlin won't let him style him.

Plays the ancient Chinese Guzheng beautiful enough to make even the most stoic feel moved

Once upon a time long ago in China, there was once a tall and beautiful young man named Heng, he was the only son of a fabulously wealthy merchant and Heng was quite good at using his exquisite good looks to lure ladies into the shop to admire fine silks and other various luxury items. Business was very good.
As a result, Heng had a staggering amount of female admirers… many young ladies eager for a chance to marry a man that was both rich AND highly attractive, a combination that wasn't in great quantity.

Unfortunately for these ladies, Heng wasn't exactly a good person, he enjoyed the thrill he got from manipulating these women as much as he enjoyed the attention and praise they lavished upon him… he had zero interest in getting married to any one of them and viewed all of them as mere tools to suit his various purposes… and boy did he know how to use them.

One day, Heng fell ill to a mysterious ailment making its way through parts of China and eventually perished to it.

If only Heng hadn't accumulated so much negative qi in his life… perhaps he might have been spared the fate he received in death… instead of ascending to paradise, Heng was transformed by his negative qi into the dreaded Jiangshi, a creature caught somewhere between a vampire and a zombie…

Thankfully for Heng, his family buried him in his crypt with a large amount of money and wealth, hoping to secure him a plentiful afterlife… he took this money and secured himself a fairly nice abode and paid a local witch to concoct him potions every month that would fend off the rigor mortis that traditionally made Jiangshi hop and kept his skin it's natural color instead of the hideous greenish white Jiangshi were cursed with. She could not however give him anything to remove his need for blood… that would be up to Heng to carefully handle on his own.

When Merlin swept them all away to save them from the eldritch being, Heng was immensely grateful his vast wealth traveled with him, he immediately searched out another witch to concoct the same monthly potions for him as he was getting before… thankfully before the more unfortunate side effects of being Jiangshi kicked in again.

From there, Heng began to use this modern world's internet to post styled photographs of himself on something called 'Instagram' and not long after that, there were requests to pay him for permission to include his pictures in alternative magazines focusing on romanticizing the 'vampire' aesthetic… if only they knew...

Almost as if his admirers were under his spell, Heng maintains a strong popularity that ensures his finances won't be looking grim any time soon.

Gilles Domrémy otherwise known as "Barbe Bleue" (Blue Beard)

Blue Beard.jpg

Age: ~ 50
Gender: ~ He, him.
Sexuality: ~ Heterosexual
Personality Points: ~ Artistic / Careful / Generous / Loving / Passionate / Sad / Romantic / Hopeful / Homicidal.
Occupation/Job: ~ Barber (also, medieval barber-surgeon), Owner of the "Domrémy Tonsorial Parlor".
Powers: ~ Cursed. Owns and is owned by a large and cursed house with a number of wonderful rooms, including a cavernous basement which contains barrels full of salt and coffins (some filled and some empty) behind a locked door.
Talents/Hobbies/Skills: ~ Barbering / Bloodletting / Dancing / Dentistry / Exercise & Fitness / Flirting / Fighting / Love Making / Manicure & Pedicure / Medicine / Murder by Strangulation.

Once upon a time, there was a barber who was something of a lucky rakehell. Wherever he traveled the barber gambled and always managed to win more than he lost, men found him to be enjoyable company and women found his features to be handsome and enticing. Inevitably, the barber would seduce some woman of rank and be forced to travel to a place where his reputation might be unknown or forgotten. Perhaps after a war or a plague the previous noble family was not in power in that place anymore?

Somehow, although not as fast at running away as he once was, the barber gained much in cunning and lived a goodly number of years. Among the other rakehells he was sometimes called "Grandfather Fox" and "The Handsome Devil".

Of course, a "certain person" eventually hears of everything and if this "Grandfather Fox", this barber, was "The Handsome Devil" then it implied that "someone else" was less than handsome. That could not be tolerated and so a fitting punishment was devised.

Whilst traveling between Kingdoms, the barber was met by a magnificent coach of ebony and gold, pulled by beautiful black horses, and whose wonderfully arrayed driver smiled upon him.

The coachman addressed the barber, saying, "Fear not, good sir. My Prince has sent me to offer you an invitation to be his guest, at his castle. He has heard tales of the barber, nicknamed, 'Grandfather Fox' and wishes for you to recount your tales to his scribe for the purpose that others might follow in your footsteps."

The barber, knowing that only a scoundrel would want to study his life and that there might only be one scoundrel in the world with such a carriage and team, sighed and resigned himself to his fate. Even if he repented his ways this very minute, the barber could not imagine any form of grace or forgiveness. He spoke to the coachman, saying, "I suppose that I shall go with you as I've lived so very long that I know that there are many worse ways to go."

"That is very sensible of you," replied the driver and he then helped the barber into the coach.

The horse and carriage moved very fast. Still, the barber was surprised that the ground didn't open up before it and that it didn't plunge into a fiery lake. Instead, it drove into the courtyard of a very earthly seeming castle.

The coachman helped the barber out of the carriage and the castle's major domo escorted him to the great hall where The Prince and His Court were waiting.

The Prince, darkly handsome and somewhat familiar looking, arose from the dais and stepped down to greet the barber warmly, embracing him and saying, "Welcome, my son. Not the son of my body, you understand, but certainly someone with a sliver of a common spirit."

The barber did not know what to think of this meeting and asked, "Have I died without knowing it?"

"It doesn't matter" answered The Prince. "You feel alive to yourself and that is good enough." The Prince released the barber and reascended the dais to sit on his throne.

"Welcome to your forever home," said The Prince. "I've been impressed, somewhat, by your sins. The gambling, the drinking and the ability to, without any magic, charm the wives and daughters of noblemen to take you to their beds…." The Prince broke off the congratulatory remarks to clap his hands together, for a half of a minute or so, at the barber's accomplishments. The Court joined their master's clapping.

When The Prince ceased clapping His Court also stopped. "I don't always design punishments to fit crimes but it does help relieve the monotony," he said with a ring of mirth in his voice. "You've broken countless hearts, Grandfather Fox. Not only the hearts of your lovers but those men that had believed that they had found true love with the women that you then seduced."

Power began to gather about the form of The Prince, like a misty storm of blue and black with arcs of light dancing.

"You will forever search for an obedient love. A love that you would share everything with, body and soul, so long as she will obey you in one tiny little matter. If she can live the rest of her natural life and do this one thing for you, then I will free you. If she cannot, then you will be compelled to kill the woman you thought you loved. After that, you will mope and hope that maybe the next woman you choose will love you enough and this cycle will go on and on and on. You will become a monument to greed, foolish curiosity, heartbreak, rage, despair, and futility."

The power that had gathered about The Prince began to flow over to and engulf the barber. He heard the Prince say, "Every great villain needs a great moniker." The Prince then laughed, "I will call you 'Blue Beard', and it will be a name of fear and loathing. Enjoy your forever home, Duke Blue Beard." For some time, The Prince's power obscured the barber's sight and overwhelmed his hearing until it faded away.

Looking about, he was alone in the Castle and holding a ring of keys. The Prince and His Court had disappeared. The barber, now a Duke, had no doubt that his beard was indeed blue.

Age: ~ 50
Gender: ~ Female, her, she.
Sexuality: ~ Bisexual
Personality Points: ~ Content, Fatalistic, Honorable, Knowing, Melancholy, Mysterious, Regal
Occupation/Job: ~ Witch, Occult Advisor, Fortune Teller.
Powers: ~ Divination, Full Fire/Heat Resistance, Supernatural Strength.
Talents/Hobbies/Skills: ~ Darts, Entertaining, Etiquette, Fighting, Flirting, Fortune-Telling/Prophecy, Javelin/Spear, Shield, Tea.
Brief Story:
When she speaks, she covers her mouth. When she smiles it is with closed lips. Her teeth are crooked and they have always been so, always. A time so long ago that it was straight teeth that were more rare..., with the exception of the Tuatha De Danaan who were all seemingly perfect. Perfection is destruction. Her grandson was perfect and he chose to fight along side of De Danaan against the Fomóire, not that Cethlenn could blame him for she knew that he was fated to kill his grandfather, the giant that she loved. What was it like to not learn of a tragedy long before it's arrival? Cethlenn preferred surprises but rarely received any.

Therefore, she was not surprised with the outcome of the Second Battle of Moytura. Not surprised that her gae (javelin) would/had slain a god. She hoped that it would be a painful death, for all that she had lost. Cethlenn knew that it wasn't her fate to die on this battlefield. IF she died it would be at Briefne. IF she died.

Therefore, it was at Briefne that the wounded giantess (near twenty feet tall) met "the wizard". She understood his presence in an instant, saying, "You're quite early, wizard. You haven't even been born yet. Also, whatever business you have with me, it's not of this current world but a world that could be. So tell me magician, what world has a place for a giant such as me?"

The giantess and the wizard bargained and the result was that Cethlenn would be changed. Her body would be healed and then be bound by with enchantment so that she would be as tall as men and women were. She might break the enchantment and resume her full stature, but that would draw attention to all that the wizard was trying to hide and save. Once per year, the wizard would be allowed to consult Cethlenn about the future, if some things would be likely and were some seemingly impossible things were certain to happen no matter what steps were taken to avoid that fate.

And so she followed the wizard through the passages of time to the city of Lumen, becoming Madame Caitlinn the Fortune Teller and Advisor.

Cybele Bluebelle, otherwise known as Fairy Godmother - Fairytale

Strengths: Strong sense of justice, kind, protective, altruistic, friendly, loyal
Flaws: tendency to be possessive, inflexible, demanding

Occupation/Job: Detective

Powers:
  • strong six sense, can see the wishes in others' hearts. (ability to see what others need and their intentions). Can make a dream come true.
  • Teleportation. She can only teleport whenever a thread of fate is about to be cut and altered and her abilities are needed to prevent things from turning into chaos and prevent the law of the universe from being destroyed.

Talents/Hobbies/Skills: she loves fashion design, sometimes she does her own clothes! She loves photography it helps her understand better her abilities with a close observation of a specific moment. She also loves to read romances. She is an average fighter but she has an excellent accuracy with her weapons. She loves to travel and meet knew people. She doesn't live without her coffee.

Brief Story:
As usual at that time of year, the sun shone in the sky, spreading its rays in a warm, bright embrace. Cybele Bluebelle was enjoying the small French-style cafe, situated in the small park at the end of the central, popular avenue. Her cup of coffee rested in her slender ivory hands as she gazed out at the landscape. Almond shaped cleaver eyes always thrilled in observing the life displayed in front of her. To normal eyes, they would see families playing together, people talking, laughing...couples sharing a special moment or just walking side by side. Normal, random, common life! But Cybele's amber-green eyes, didn't possessed an ordinary vision of all those relationships and interaction. The thin golden threads that tied everyone's destiny together, the threads that created the network in which we were all connected, were barely visible. But sometimes, in rare punctuated moments, she could see them clearly. Usually they indicated trouble and would deliver her a message, a command to choose an action.

Since she was born, a little fairy, the fiery red-haired, had processed a knowledge that she only shared with her kin, the knowledge of fate and its bonds. This was her purpose, to ensure that everyone's destiny was accomplished accordingly to the law of the universe. Every time there was a threat to the right order and balance of someone's destiny she would receive a call, a need to obey and make sure only to find rest when everything would be solved and back to its rightful place and time. No matter if it seemed right or wrong, if in the end she would be seen and known as the good fairy or the evil witch... the law of the universe must be protected and fate was inevitable, and no one was above it! At least that's what she was taught her entire life.

But something happened, something no one predicted and everyone needed to find a new home, here, in this city. Now it was in this world that she needed to be sure that her work was done and no one would dare change the bonds and tides of destiny, no one would step outside the law.

We'll give it to the end of the weekend to fill up the first table and then I'll work on getting things going. WE WILL STILL RECRUIT EVEN AFTER WE START, so nobody panic. I will happily help any later sign ups figure out how to enter the game if they feel like they need some guidance.

Merlin was born from a forbidden love affair between a mortal researcher of medicinal plants and a Seelie Fey princess… that love was forced apart, but not before the princess was able to safely give birth to her baby boy and deliver him into the protective arms of his father, she then deceived the other Fey into believing the baby had died at birth. She could not be with her child, but she would at least make sure he was safe from those that might mean him harm.

The princess also left her beloved with a locket and a leather bound tome with a few spells and a great many more empty pages… she told him these were gifts for her son, tokens of her love that would help him in his future. Lastly, she asked her precious human darling to tell their son how much she loved him as often as possible and that leaving him was something necessary that broke her heart to do.

The baby boy was named Merlin.

As the years went by, Merlin studied the tome his mother had left for him and grew in arcane potential more and more, until he began crafting his own spells and recording them into the empty pages of the tome. The boy became so impressive as he grew into a young man, he gained the attention of the druids… they taught him about nature and how it worked, how to respect and honor it… and when they were confident he could be trusted, they taught him it's secrets, it's magic.

The Druids were the ones to help Merlin tap into the Fey half of his ancestry and harness the wild magic of his mother's people… to much as extent as he could, what with only being half Fey.

Later, Merlin met another noble young man, a future king named Arthur… he sensed the potential for great goodness in Arthur and knew it was his destiny to help this future king on his way to becoming the great and noble king of honor and truth that would become immortal via the legends that would be spoken of him forever. They became great friends, practically brothers.

Merlin remained by Arthur's side until the mortal man grew old and eventually died, leaving Merlin to find a new purpose… all the while, mourning his dear friend.

He spent the majority of his years after that in his secluded tower devoting himself to research and arcane study… Merlin believed that a good wizard was never truly done learning, there was always something new to discover and learn about… to assume one knew everything was pure arrogance.

Merlin was not surprised to learn the truth about the nature of himself and so many around him… as being figures of fairytales and folklore to a nonmagical world adjacent to theirs… he learned how vital to they were to each other. Symbiotic, in sync, caring for the survival of each other without even knowing it. It was truly a beautiful thing.

Then… the worst happened… he felt the tentacles of a powerful and dark eldritch being tearing at the fabric that separated their dimensions, he sensed it's voracious hunger for the glowing blessed light that pulsated within each and every legendary figure…

He had to work quickly… he knew that there was no way to combat the progress the creature had always made to the tear it was working on, it was going to break through… but hope was not entirely lost yet… not while he breathed and had magic pumping through his veins…

Merlin with the combined efforts of the druid, crafted the most powerful spell he'd ever attempted… a spell that would take each and every one of them from their doomed original realms of this world and transplant them into the adjacent world he'd discovered before.

He took every precaution upon their arrival… first, he weaved protective wards upon the fabric of space and time that separated them from their previous world against being of eldritch origins, something he wished he'd thought to do before… but neither he or any other wise ones ever anticipated eldritch attack. They wouldn't make that mistake again.

Next, Merlin created a brand new city… one where magic would still thrive and no one would have to hide who they were. If anyone from the nonmagical world arrived in their city, their perception would be magically altered to perceive nothing out of the ordinary.

Near magical exhaustion by this point, Merlin has contented himself with governing their new town as it's mayor and ensuring a life of prosperity and plenty for everyone learning to start again.

Five years have gone by now since then and Merlin is beginning to feel more and more like his old self again.

FOLKLORE
Name: Lachlan Johann otherwise known as the Nøkken.

IMG_8931.jpeg

Actual Age: Unknown
Appears: 27
Gender: Male, he/him
Sexuality: Heterosexual

Personality Points:
Aloof / Compelling / Creative / Emotional / Gifted / Gloomy / Intense / Introverted / Mysterious / Powerful

Occupation/Job: Composer & Music teacher

Powers:
  • Aquatic Adaptation: Can breathe underwater, has accurate senses underwater, enhanced swimming. Gets uncomfortable when out of the water for too long and grows despondent.
  • Hypnotic Music: Uses music to affect or directly influence other people's minds to their commands. Those that have strong willpower can resist the lure and anything that prevents the victim from hearing prevents this power from affecting them.
  • Water Manipulation: Can create/generate and shape water to attack and defend. Can walk on water. Cannot use in temperatures that evaporate or freeze water.
  • Physical: Has enhanced strength, enhanced senses, and enhanced regeneration but only while in water. Is semi-immortal (doesn't age but can be slain).

Talents/Hobbies/Skills: Violin / Composing Music / Swimming / Fishing / Frog Hunting / Teaching

Brief Story:
From a mirror-like pond came a mysterious man. His black hair cascaded down a lithe, muscular form, reaching well below his waist with shorter sections resting on his shoulders. It was always wet as if he had just been swimming. His eyes were a dark mossy green which held the deep emotions his handsome, stoic face did not show. His skin was fair and looked rather pale in contrast to the darkly colored clothes he wore. He favored deep, dark greens and black, sometimes brown, accented with silver or gold.

No one knew he came from a pond, they were much too focused on his almost hypnotic beauty and the talents he possessed. Not long after his first appearance in the village, he began playing his violin for money. The songs he played were so captivating that the people of the village had to stop and listen, often leaving some of their coin behind. With his talent for making beautiful music, he gained the attention of many admirers but only one woman caught his eye. The daughter of a nobleman with the voice of an angel was the one to capture his heart. However, her father did not approve of their courtship. The woman's father wanted her to marry someone of status and wealth, not some musician who played violin for money. The woman did not wish to marry her father's choice so she and the mysterious man eloped into the forest.

Finally free to be together, the musician brought his beloved to his pond and revealed himself to be a water spirit known as the Nøkken. He coaxed her into his pond and pulled her below the surface in order to keep her forever. But his human love could not survive underwater and drowned in his arms. Horrified by his oversight, he did everything he could to revive her but to no avail. His beloved was gone, forever. Nothing could ease the Nøkken's grief and for many months after that melancholic melodies came from the forest causing all that heard them to cry uncontrollably. Eventually, the music stopped and the mysterious man was never seen again.

After sleeping for many years, the musician managed to start a new life in Lumen. Many people know of the beautiful music he composes and those who are brave enough seek him out for violin lessons. Other than that, the Nøkken remains an enigma of music and beauty.

Talents/Hobbies/Skills: Reading / Flower Arranging / Singing / Gardening / Tea Making

Brief Story:
There once was a merchant and his wife who desperately wanted a child. They had tried everything they could without any luck. Their desperation eventually led them to meet with a faerie. The faerie gave them a changeling child, telling them that if they could handle caring for a faerie baby they would be granted a child of their own. The merchant and his wife agreed and took the faerie baby home. At first, the baby was peaceful and perfect with ivory skin and rosy red cheeks. But when the winter months came, the child grew sickly and green. She cried constantly and was always hungry. But even though the merchant and his wife were exhausted, they never once treated the baby poorly and did everything they could to care for her. When the warmer months returned, they awoke one morning to find the baby gone.

In a panic, they sought out the faerie and found it with the changeling child asleep in its arms. The faerie praised the merchant and his wife for their hard work and kindness before asking them if they still wanted a child of their own. Much to the faerie's surprise, they asked for the faerie baby back, saying that they had fallen in love with her. The faerie saw no reason to deny them and gave the baby back. The merchant and his wife continued to raise the changeling as she blossomed and grew into a beautiful young woman with hair brown as bark and eyes like golden honey. The family lived happily together until the faerie's human parents eventually died. After their death, the faerie returned to the faerie realm and learned everything her human parents hadn't been able to teach her.

Many years later, Rosabel started a new life in Lumen. She owns (and lives above) a florist shop with her maine coon cat, Beast. In addition to flowers, she sells teas and herbal remedies. She can also be found at the library in her spare time.

Here's my 1st question: Besides being killed by "The Eldritch", can the people from legends and fairy tales die or be killed?

Here's my 2nd question: If the people from legends and fairy tales can be killed by non-Eldritch others, will they re-spawn, like at midnight or the witching hour (3:00 a.m.)?

Well I like to think that's possible but not that easy to happen. For sure they could be killed but it would be very hard to accomplish. For example for each character you would need a specific and special item to kill them.

Because what makes them alive (correct me if I understood it wrong) are the humans' dreams, fantasies and when they talk about fairytales, that create "The Glow"…I was thinking you would need to wait for the next day? So during the night you would have to have "x" amount of dreams about that specific character to bring life back to them? Maybe you would have a day to make people talk, fantasise or have a dream about that specific character?

I think it would be nice to make it possible but very hard to make! I think it would be more interesting than just waiting for a certain hour! But that's only my opinion!

Some of them would be damn hard to kill, like Merlin, Heng or Lachlann just off the top of my head. However... I hadn't thought about this and after reading that, it actually kinda works xD

Everyone's sheets are now hyperlinked on the table, you can easily access them any time you need to without a bunch of scrolling.

Also hyperlinked the in game thread at that bottom. We are live baby!

Belle would also be harder to kill given her durability as long as her weaknesses weren't being used against her.

Folklore: The Green Man

Age: Unknown
Gender: Male (He/Him)
Sexuality: Heterosexual

Personality
Down-to-earth, reserved, green thumb, adventurous, soft-spoken, stubborn

Occupation: Herbalist

Powers Take on animal forms (deer, wolf)

Talents/Hobbies/Skills: Gardening, swimming, dance, cooking

Once upon a time, in a hidden corner of a lush forest, there lived a mysterious creature known as the Green Man. His existence was whispered about among the animals and trees, a legend passed down through generations.

The Green Man was unlike any creature the forest had ever seen. He was not an elf, nor a human, nor an animal. He was a living embodiment of the forest itself. His skin was the color of fresh spring leaves, and his hair resembled the long, waving branches of the ancient oaks. Moss and vines adorned his body like a natural cloak, and his eyes shimmered with the wisdom of the ages.

The Green Man was a guardian of the forest, and his bond with nature ran deep. He could communicate with the animals and plants, understanding their needs and desires. He protected the delicate balance of the ecosystem, ensuring that no harm came to his beloved home.

One crisp morning, as the sun's golden rays filtered through the canopy, the Green Man sensed a disturbance in the forest. He followed his intuition and soon came upon a group of loggers, their axes poised to strike the heart of the forest. The trees cried out in distress, and the animals fled in fear.

Without hesitation, the Green Man stepped forward. His presence was both awe-inspiring and humbling. The loggers, their faces etched with surprise and wonder, lowered their axes. They had heard tales of the Green Man but had never expected to encounter him.

In a voice as gentle as a breeze, the Green Man spoke to the loggers. He shared with them the beauty and wonder of the forest, explaining how it provided for all creatures, including humanity. He asked them to consider the consequences of their actions, urging them to find a more sustainable way to meet their needs.

The loggers, deeply moved by his words and his connection to the forest, agreed to his plea. They abandoned their axes and joined forces with the Green Man to become stewards of the land, planting new trees, nurturing the growth of the forest, and preserving its delicate balance.

Over the years, the legend of the Green Man and the reformed loggers spread throughout the region. People came from far and wide to learn from the Green Man, to hear his stories, and to embrace a more harmonious relationship with nature. The once-threatened forest flourished, and the Green Man's presence ensured that it remained a haven of life and tranquility.

And so, the Green Man's story lived on, a testament to the power of connection, compassion, and the enduring bond between humanity and the natural world. In the heart of the forest, he continued to watch over his beloved home, reminding all who encountered him of the magic and wonder that could be found in the embrace of the wild.

Finally finished Heng Yang

Love him! I'm curious of how he might react to Belle, especially if he discovers her blood somehow.
