Both Needed The Age Of The Inhuman OOC (Dystopia/Superhero/No-Smut) Still Recruiting

To clarify, we aren't ready to start start yet? Still waiting for all the ducks to be rowed?

Starting is imminent. I would like to let everyone take a look at the thread, submit any last minute changes, and seek emotional approval from Bax, but otherwise yeh, am writing my intro now. You need anything? You wanna talk intro? You had mentioned him being in restraints, I think it adds an element of dehumanization, especially given that the HCOs would know he has a background in fighting, and may even be more skilled than a few of them given the rushed training and reliance on armaments *nods nods* I wanna hear you ideas, keep you interested and busy :P

I'm honestly refraining from typing out a whole post in response to those questions lol. To try and keep my answers short of giving away all my writing too soon. A little guidance on how quickly our post should get into the "interview" stage would be good. First post, or are we to hang out in our cell a while until your npc's interact with us. Are we controlling our own npcs? I'm thinking it's mealtime, Nathan takes the opportunity to quip at the guards, and is shortly removed from his cell like hannibal lecter on wheels to be given your described interrogation to make sure he's stable before offering him the spot on the team. Should that happen in one post, two, or three.

lol, I also appreciate the excitement. I could see them giving him the straight jacket, but I dun think they'd give him the hannibal treatment. The guards respected hannibal lecter, these guards dun respect yo character :P You can control your own NPCs, just try to keep the feel consistent. We're gonna have a section for created NPCs who aren't just like ... rando guard #5, so let me know if you making someone important and we talk about, but otherwise yeah, don't wait on me, NPC it up :P

No need for any character sheets for my guards, but I would reiterate the possibility for a hand to hand combat instructor for the team I'd be willing to write :3

I like the idea of him approaching the other characters about it. They're going to be moved out of the prison and into a shared living environment once the team is put together, looks better for PR if they aren't hanging around in their down time wearing prison orange.

Oh, do you mean nathan offering to instruct? I was thinking there'd be an officially appointed trainer. An ex-cop or military, (or just someone like my jiu jitsu instructor irl who gives lessons to law enforcement etc.) Either is fine, whichever you think fits the story better.

*shurgs* I hadn't thought of them really being hand-to-hand experts. They're mostly being selected for their powers, and I know my character is all about like ... super-speed-idiot-fighting :P

What I mean is, cause that came off all tired and short, is that I'm open to it, but I hadn't honestly given it any thought until you asked. I would be interested to know what kind of action everyone is looking for.

Any room for another?

Ugh, okay, cat needs sleep, intro up tomorrow. Input from people would be good. I would like to know who people think our first low-ish level supercriminal should be, or how our characters get a soft intro to crime-fighting.

First Name: Yāomò
Middle Name: Ragnarök
Last Name: Uzumaki
Date of birth: September 13, 2007
Birthplace: Tokyo, Japan (officially) Kinryūmura [village hidden deep within the Aokigahara Forest]

Registration Status: Recently discovered
Power/s: Kinetic Charging - Yāomò is able to absorb the kinetic force of impacts through a skin-level aura 'cloak' and instinctively has the talent of Electrokinesis... that is... the ability to manipulate electricity. The stronger the impact, such as if he were involved in a car accident or hit by a car, as compared to a punch, he would gain more energy from the impact. However, there is a limit to what he can absorb... which if exceeded can backlash in an explosive fashion not unlike a few pounds of TNT, usually leaving him semi-conscious or unconscious.

With training, he could conceivably be able to pick up upon the bioelectricity of others and detect allies and hostiles as such as well as channel the kinetic force stored within his body into a healing electrical charge that would stimulate the body of the victim to heal. True, doing so would leave them in agonizing pain for a few seconds and could, if, say, someone had a punctured lung from a broken rib and the bone were snapped back into place, make things worse as it ripped a larger hole in said organ, as well as extremely hungry.

He could also, with time and training, conceivably channel the kinetic energy into 'enhancing' his body's abilities such as durability, physical strength, reflexes, or perception.
Weakness/es: His defensive aura is protective against what would be thought of as 'blunt force strikes' i.e fists, bats, rifle butts, small arms fire, low speed car hits. However, impacts that would be piercing i.e knives, Tasers, sniper rounds, ectera, he'd be as vulnerable as anyone else.
Distinguishing Marks:
Beneath his clothing, which usually looks as
is complex tattoos. The tattoos are a dull bronze with a 'dead charge' but, as his 'kinetic reserves' build up they will gain a reddish copper glow to the tattoos. At his upper limits, the glow will shift to a bright ruby and crackle with visible arcs of electricity. If they glow pale blue.... find something dense and thick to hide behind because it's about to go critical mass and detonate.
Yāomò Uzumaki was trained as a Shinobi, that is, he has the skills in stealth and evasion honed into his body. He has experience with archery, swordsmanship, combat tactics, infiltration, and hiding in plain sight. He knows how to employ traditional Japanese weapons such as kunai and shuriken, though his preferred weapons are senbon needles, roughly twice the length of the middle finger and roughly a third as thick as a knitting needle.
Initiating Incident: Yāomò frowned as his eyes narrowed upon seeing the Triad gang members as well as dirty cops snickering as they looked over their ill-gotten gains. His fingers tapped the earbud, the contact communicator glowing a faint blue against his ultramarine-amethyst iris.

"You seeing this? Looks like roughly half of your drug theft team is dirty. Ain't gonna be easy to disable them either," he warned the other two, the head of the local Keisatsu-chō as well as the head of the Tokushusakusengun teams in the area. The real problem was that the area was full of civilians so their usual shock-and-awe tactics would work against them, in truth.

He intended to disable the hostiles rather than kill, though he could just as easily do the other. His eyes narrowed slightly more as he noticed the drugs before his hand drifted to the
over his shoulder, all too tempted to go bloody. He stilled his breathing as he knew emotions, especially at the moment, were risky.

Within a fifteen minute span, the majority of the hostiles had been subdued, though a few were stubbornly holed up in a back room. He employed the ventilation system to slip in, disabling two but catching a slug in the chest from the shotgun of the third. Though his body armor protected him from a fatal injury, it didn't protect him from getting knocked back... straight into an electrical box. The surge of electricity, contrary to killing him as it should have... awoke something inside him.

The next clear thing he recalled was waking up in a blown out room. Unknowingly, the electricity overloaded his body and detonated outward. Fortunately, though, it only scared the shit out of the civilians and didn't do more than make a large mess of concrete dust... the dirty cop and his Triad comrades that had been in the room, however... were reduced to gore... covering a two block radius.

He recently found himself incarcerated and sent to an American compound he does not know well. He knows nothing of the Bureau of Inhuman Affairs and knows little about what has been cropping up in different areas of the world as he has never paid attention nor cared overmuch about politics.

I have ideas for things regarding my character but I've been bouncing around while waiting so I haven't said much. Looking forward to this though.

I would think any crime fighting team, especially one shadow-organized by the military and intelligence agencies, would want their personel trained appropriately the same as cops or swat. That way if it can be avoided they could just knock someone out/tackle them as opposed to blowing them up. Conversely, say you're "caught without your gun" so to speak. Your powers get cancelled out by your opponent's, you've used too much energy and might pass out with another blast and need to defend yourself from an attacker with a knife. I would think you wanted some realistic scenarios along with the larger scale super battles. Like, we could stop a bank robbery without necessarily reducing the robbers to parapalegics or giving them cancer like our powers might otherwise. Still using our abilities to say, destroy their guns or disable the bomb they planted.

I would think this would be something all the characters get better at at their own paces and see the value of over time after quite a few missions. Conversely training enemy agents who might defect later with effective hand to hand combat skills lol

I actually can see the opposite. If they don't provide more than minimum of training for the inhuman team, then they save on the money of training and it could be cheaper than spending on bullets themselves while granting some denial of responsibility when said inhumans get killed while contributing something to the world that hates them beforehand too. The team having a high turnover rate, especially if we end up fighting other inhumans would be "expected" and more worthwhile than locking us all up forever. But the attitudes of the world is ultimately Cat's decision.

Edited. Yāomò has never really bothered to pay much attention to politics nor about more... unusual things going on in the world. The things he deals with aren't quite Inhuman in the same way as he is, but they are certainly Nonhuman and, to standard military, a Threat.
