-You enter the library and find that the plain dark wood of the door was hiding something much greater. The shelves pop with colorful books. Plants rest in window nooks. And across the varying tables and desks are other well loved notebooks and stories.
-Mio said you could explore as much as you'd like; they'd love to share some of their favorites with you. Have a seat. After all, there are plenty of soft chairs spread out.

This story features the characters Sueki Dixian and Shiress Underhill. These pages show pictures of the characters and provide some more information about them.

On another page is an elegantly drawn timeline of the previous events up to the current year.

Thank you to Inner Sanctum for providing a place to find wonderful writing partners and create amazing stories. And, thank you to anyone who decides to stalk this thread. Whether it's to read the story or see how either of us write; thank you for taking the time to read this story.

  • You pick up a book, paperback but sturdy. The front cover is a darker blue and patterned like water. Green leaves reflect on the water's surface. The title in silver lettering reads "𝓡𝓮𝓬𝓵𝓪𝓲𝓶𝓲𝓷𝓰 𝓞𝓾𝓻 𝓗𝓸𝓷𝓸𝓻 𝓯𝓸𝓻 𝓨𝓸𝓾". Below it are the author names, 𝓢𝓱𝓲𝓻𝓮𝓼𝓼 and 𝓜𝓲𝓸 𝓑𝓻𝓪𝓿𝓮.
You flip to the back. The back cover shows and elegant sword decorated in gold and blue gems. Across from it is a had which holds a pink gemstone. Fit perfectly between the two is the book's synopsis.

You flip back to the front cover, looking it over again. You almost place the book back on the shelf, but your hand lingers. Just the first paragraph couldn't hurt, just to give it a chance. Of course, flipping through the first few pages, you get the usual fluff. A bit more about the authors. A decorative page with the timeline leading to the story. A prologue for the characters. And, a thank you to Inner Sanctum. It's intriguing. Maybe you'll take this book with you after all.

The Writing Desk

You come across a desk. Well, there are many in here, but this one seems the most used. Ink stains from spills and stray charcoal marks from running off the pages. There are papers all over the desk, along with several notebooks, folders and binders. Are these all Mio's personal works?
  • Whiskers

There's a small spiraled notebook with a gray cat on the front. The fuzzball is wearing a witch's hat and snoozing soundly. When you open the journal there's mostly lots of bullet points, written out like achievements. Though, there are pages here and there which detail one thing or another. You could maybe call this something akin to a biography? Though, very distantly.. Mio Lore! ding

There's a pamphlet tucked in the pages, MioBrave - Hydration Bot and Local Changeling
  • There's a grey binder, covered in stickers and full of loose-leaf papers. There are some sections divided by the artsy covers of dead notebooks. There are blank pages in the pockets, along with tiny scraps of writing on whatever paper they could find while out in the world. Hidden under the binder when you lift it is another notebook as well. It's a silver paperback with pages of blue, yellow and red; the cover is gameboy based. The notebook is wrapped in a bright neon yellow cover which lets the gameboy screen and buttons show through gaps. The pages are covered in foreign words and strange runes written in all different colors of pens. There seem to be whole poems translated into this other language. Mio's Writing Portfolio!
There's a small spiral notebook full of quotes!
    Dialogue Prompts
Also amongst the pages of runes is a series of hand written letters.
    Dear You
In the grey binder beside it is a loose poem.
    Picking Up Pieces 🏅
There's an entry in the spiraled notebook which stands out.
    Perfect
On another page in the spiraled notebook...
    The Alvarez Hypothesis
Hidden among stray D&D notes which ended up here...
    The Plague
  • There's a whole stack of folders in various colors, more green and orange ones than the others. There's also a larger one, black and white shapes at random but colored in with colored sharpie. These folders are full of art! Mio's Art!
  • On scraps of paper scattered here in there are small paragraphs written in different colored pencils. Sanctum Auras!
  • There's a smaller notebook with a magnet flap to keep closed. It's a lavender purple, with darker purple trims and a vining floral design. There's also a customized sticker which they drew themself of a deep purple, starry night sky behind a magenta crystal cluster. In it on the pages of robin egg blue are fun facts phrased as questions and lists of themes. Trivia Question Suggestions Please!
  • There's a bright lime green dictionary stacked on a thesaurus of a much much darker green. Both are littered with colorful post it notes bookmarking pages. There are dates written next to the words, along with a few usernames credited. Is this some kind of word of the day system? Word of the Day
  • There's a stack of dated magazines! They each feature some interesting spots to explore around site! Fae Shout Outs! - Casual Sanctum Advertising!

(This story is complete! 🧡 )

There's a more lounge-like area, a few red armchairs and couches. There's a dark wood coffee table at the center. There's a well loved book resting on it; one that's been obviously picked up again and again. There's even a receipt for alcohol acting as a makeshift bookmark. The cover is snow themed, a bright lamppost on the left side. In the shadows in the background there's the vague shape... of a mothman. The title A Sanctum Holiday Party is printed in a lovely evergreen, your standard script used by Christmas stories. Within the cover, on the very first page is a whole list of wonderful writers from around the Sanctum, where you can find Mio listed. The back has a very vague synopsis. A chaos warning and heartwarming friendships.
You sit down and pick it up. Why was it so worn and reread? Only one way to find out.

(On Hiatus!)

Also in the lounge area, at one end of the table, are several maps and drawings. There are highlighted in notebooks, scribbled on character sheets and colorful dice thrown about. There are several colorful characters; an eladrin elf, two tieflings, two humans, and a warforged as the group currently stands. Though there is a folder of other player characters as well. It seems like a game of D&D mid-session, as if the ghosts are still there playing. The character sheet with Mio's name on it is the warforged cleric, named Ive. There is a battle grid, buried under all of the other things in preference for story and world building. The notes behind the DM screen name the world Shara-Tel, and there seems to be another notebook full of notes on another story in the same setting.
Maybe if you sit here long enough, you'll witness the group gather. Then you could watch their story unfold. But, as we all know, scheduling consistently for D&D is near impossible.

Newly added to Mio's writing desk is a larger spiral notebook, black with white flowers and pink trim. In it are scraps and pieces scribbled in mechanical pencil. But, occasionally there are full chapters of a story. Seems like a work in progress story, the current work in progress title being Witches of Immortal Love. On the table beside the notebook are two hats. One a wool, grey witch's hat, with two small, purple, foam frog clips on the brim. The other is a bright yellow, woven sun hat, with two identical frogs but in green and yellow.

(These are actually my monthly challenge entries! I promise they're in the order which they were written!)

(Discontinued...)

On the same dark wood table as the holiday party is a photo album. The cover is black with silver corners, the title on the spine saying "Sanctum Road Trip!" In it are several pictures of several Sanctum dwellers at different places. There's a group photo on the last page, with everyone in it. Mio can be spotted there, hiding just beside Julez and Pie.
There's gotta be a story behind all of these pictures. You site down and looking through them more thoroughly to try and figure it out.
